Deserves really a one but went only once in there and am sure some have a good experience with them. I have a very old pair of cowboy boots that only needed cleaning on the outside and slightly inside. The lady was not friendly and said no she cannot clean them. She pointed outside and said to go to a regular cleaners so I left confused and literally with the feeling I wasted my time going here. I also felt talked down to over cowboy boots and I stayed pleasant and with a smile the whole time. I would recommend to anyone not to go here and find somewhere else. It seems she probably has her regulars and is not interested in new business and clearly zero customer service. I have tried to call to make sure my boots have been repaired & she will not answer the phone. All you get is a recording saying the mail box is full. I just left US Shoe repair it might might be a cultural difference but I didn't get a good feeling from her I told her I'd had to pair of boots I need a Polish and she said just leave it but just didn't get a good feeling of cooperation cooperation. First the place is a dump and the counter person (the owner) has no customer service savvy what so ever. Nonetheless she did exactly what she said she would, delivered on time, and did an excellent job polishing my ostrich skin boots. They have not looked this good since I bought the in 1986! . I cannot even give them 1 star. I just left there while I was on my lunch break. I stood in the lobby for about 10 minutes or longer while the lady in the back continued to work. She clearly saw me through the glass, but never acknowledge or came out to see what I needed. These folks have been in business in katy a long time. We take our leather vests in because she takes her time and removes the lining sews on patches and replaces the lining. Unlike most who just sew through the lining sewing pockets etc closed. She has always done a great job and for 10 years we have gone there and recommended her to friends. My mother had dropped off my boots to fix the sole and when she went to pick them up the lady tells my mom that she gave one shoe away. Out of the pair. She accidentally gave another lady one boot. And she doesn't keep the numbers to her clients so she said that she can't get my boot back. You can tell when someone has years in experience on what they do sometimes and I definitely did here at US Shoe hospital. I took in my chaps to get cleaned and buffed and also have the rubber part of the heel replaced and I am very satisfied and will be coming back again. I've read a bad review on here about the lady not wanting to do work on some types of shoes and I'm pretty sure if the lady said no to business probably knew what she would get into trying to repair something especially if it's not a quality shoe. You get what you pay for and if you try to bring a cheap item that is cheap bc of the material or how it's made to a place that's been there for years and has years of experience and craftsman's ship than there's a real reason behind it. A quality shoe or item that is made correctly without cheap material will be way easier to repair and will last longer than something that was made with poor quality. Just my two cents. read more

I took a pair of shoes here to get resoled and polished. And I must say one I got these shoes back they look better than they did originally. Idk why this place got such horrid reviews both online and through other apps. Granted I do have rather large feet (size 16 in dress shoes) the sixty dollars I paid to have the service done is till way cheaper than going through the hassle of going out and buying a new pair of shoes elsewhere. I understand that this lady can be rather difficult but I kept conversation to the minimum and found myself in and out with any hassles at all. Always check their work if you use this place. If it is done properly, you are fine. If not, you are out of luck. They reattached a purse chain, knotting the two chains together. The chains were tucked into the purse, so I didn't see it until I got home. I tried to unknot it, but failing called the owner and asked her to remove the knot that was not there previously. She said to bring it in. She said she could not reattached the chain to remove the knot they added. I said I would like a refund for the improper reattachment and she refused. Horrible first impression with this place. Customer service is awful. Was not acknowledged when I walked in the door. I came in to add an extra hole to the shoe strap that goes around my ankle. The woman working there was not helpful at all and had major attitude. She asked me where I wanted to place the holes and I asked her if I could put the heels on and measure it on my ankle. She threw my shoe down and told me I needed to do it myself and come back and get her when I was ready to be serviced, then walked to the back and began working on shoes again. I decided to walk out. A few minutes later, I decided to call but she picked up the phone and hung it up. Called back two times in a row and the phone went straight to voicemail. I've read reviews on how well her work is but that does not matter when you're rude to customers, especially when they are new. I dropped my winter boots off to get a cap replaced on the heel (.25 cents worth of plastic and .25 cents worth of glue). I asked the older oriental woman how much-- because I am on a very tight budget. She said $11. I decided I could afford that. While I was there, I asked her how much to replace the heel caps on a pair of high heels (because I had a pair at home I thought I might bring), and she said, $7. I left my boots (she never took my name or number) and came back on Friday as she requested. She had a hard time finding my boots-- and announced that to replace just the heel cap was $22-- and she only accepted cash-- no credit or debit. I was livid. I told her the prices she gave me a few days earlier. She denied quoting those prices. Peeps, I had $2.33 in my bank account the day I brought my boots in-- but I knew I could earn at $11 by Friday. Because I am poor, price was VERY important to me. I had raided my piggy bank and brought just the right amount of change in to be able to get my boots... Needless to say-- I had to drive to the bank (on fumes), and extract $10 of the $25 I set aside for grocery money-- and then drive back to pay her. I even told this woman how much her lying 'cost' me, and she still did not care. I WILL NEVER EVER do business here-- and, I highly recommend taking your shoes elsewhere for repair. Do not go here! I would give this place a ZERO if possible. It is dirty and cramped, which wouldn't normally make much of a difference to me, but when the service is bad, the atmosphere gets attention too. I took my daughter's backpack and asked the woman how much she would charge to put in a new zipper, as the one on the outer pocket had broken. The woman looked at it and told me $8. I thought that was a good price and happily let her keep it. My husband picked it up the day it was ready and paid without looking at it. She had REPAIRED the zipper, not replaced it! It was now very difficult to zip and unzip and actually broke again the very next day! I took it back and told her I needed a refund. She refused. She told me no one can replace a zipper in a backpack. I don't know if that's true, but she had given me a price to replace one, not to repair one. After several minutes of conversation, she finally admitted that she didn't communicate that to me because her English is not good (she is Asian), but she still refused to refund my money. I realize that $8 is not that much, but it's the principal. She did not perform the service she agreed to, and she did shoddy work anyway! Incredibly Rude!!The lady working at this store threw a shoe at me. I have never reviewed a place of business before on website, but I was compelled to write this review because I experienced such terrible, rude customer service. I had dropped off 2 pairs of shoes to have the heels replaced and to restitch the front of the sole. My wife picked up the shoes, and when I saw the repair I knew it was not right. Instead of stitching it, a glob of glue was used that did not hold. When I returned to the store to ask them to repair it, she told me the shoe was too old to stitch. I was very polite but I asked her to stitch it like I have always had done before on other shoes. I have had shoes repaired in four different states and it has never been an issue before. Reluctantly and rudely she agreed to fix it. But what was unbelievable was when I went to pick up shoe and I told her what I was picking up her response was "Oh you,"THREW the shoe at me, and disappeared into the back room before I could say anything. My family has used them quite a few times before because only shoe repair store around. They have always been unfriendly but just put up with.
