This is a large Asian supermarket that has parking. This place is always very busy. They stock a bit of everything. From frozen foods, sauces, plus a lot of interesting Asian items. They offer the largest produces selection and everything seems bright and fresh. Coming here on the weekends can be beyond ridiculously busy. All the seniors are out with their carts. They can get a bit aggressive lol. They also have a large seafood department but sometimes the smell in their seafood department is so strong that it really attacks all my senses and I have to walk away. Best asian grocery in Queens, I've been going here for 10 years and all the items/produce are fresh and clean! Always busy and no social distancing. Location: It is located few blocks from Elmhurst Hospital, the grocery is huge. Parking is huge as well but always full because a lot of people go here. Inside is quite organized, from the vegetable part to the meat and fish section. Service: I mean they all quite okay. No interaction mostly. Food: what I like about here is the freshness of the produce, they have live crabs and fish! I patronized US Supermarket at the worst time of the year - pre-Lunar New Year 2021 because this date the weather was fair to middling and was not very cold but manageable. It was also the final weekend before Lunar New Year and like all Asians we scrambled to purchase all the essentials foods and items, ergo, the madness of hustle and shove/push and standing or walking back-to-back where six feet social distancing COVID-19 compliance was impossible. Busy - utter chaos = disorganized and uncivilized!! It was extreme utter madness busy that all the store's push shopping carts and handheld shopping baskets were 93% usage occupied. I suggest to locate a shopping basket when a customer relinquish one at checkout and then do not let go like a Golden Goose! Augh!! Wrong timing of pre-Lunar New Year to go Asian grocery shopping. This business do not control the capacity of customers entry/exit for crowd control prevention stampede hazard nor COVID-19 compliance six feet social distancing. Nevertheless, customers and staff did exercise the usage of wearing face mask. There is a substantial size quality fish market within this supermarket where there are seven (7) active fishmonger workers who scale, gut and fillet working methodically and robotically with sharp knives and cleaver knives in face masks, worker's gloves, and worker's aprons. This supermarket carries my fish likings: tilapia, red snapper, and salmon. They also carry stripped bass, and varies bighead carp, black carp, silver carp and grass carp fishes of gargantuan sizes. I did not see any swordfish available. A whole fish (including the head, eyes, mouth and tail of the whole shebang) is imperative to have during Lunar New Year celebration in Chinese culture and US Supermarket heed this mandatory cultural tradition. Customer service is literally nonexistent and visibly appear dispirited and despondent. Price is reasonable. Cashiers are robotic and efficient to keep the line moderately moving who speak Mandarin and Fukinese but, sadly, not Cantonese and very rudimentary English skills. I do not understand the business name "US Supermarket" origin or meaning, err on the side of question? There is a free parking lot available on site which can easily be full to capacity as there were cars who double and even triple parked blocking pedestrians' method of egress. I don't know if I'll ever get the English name of this Asian grocery store correct (Is it US as in United States or simply "us?") but the Chinese name, 新龍興, is something akin to "New Rising Dragon" which for my tastes sounds way cooler. In terms of a quality Asian market, they definitely have the intangibles that make it a great place to shop. Some of those aspects are: * It's right next to the subway entrance / exit. Makes the haul on foot seem just a tad easier. * The cashiers are quick, somewhat robotic, and good about keeping the lines in check. * Inventory wise, it's got all the basic needs of anyone shopping at a supermarket: a robust seafood selection, solid produce area, plenty of imported Asian brands / goods / snacks / sauces / etc. * There is a *free* parking lot. It's not always easy to find a spot, but the mere fact they have it is a huge lift in the game. Of course, like anything run by humans, it's not perfect. There are a few things that could use some change: * It's crowded. By virtue of being in the heart of Elmhurst and near the subway stop, there are people here at all times. I've tried the off peak shopping and was still fighting the crowds to get through the place. * Service is lackluster. Obviously speaking Chinese (Mandarin, Fukinese, etc.) would be an asset, but it still doesn't guarantee good service. Good luck finding anything specific and be aware that they don't always answer their phones. * Prices will vary. Some things are definitely cheaper than say Good Neighbors in Sunnyside or Woodside, but many things don't hold a candle to the prices in Flushing. It's all about picking and choosing which items are more / less price wise. In the end, I still shop here very often. I don't always get to rock the Flushing grocery stores as much as I'd like, so this place fills the void and has the kind of simple selection I need. The first week of grand opening had great prices on many items but now the dust settled and prices are about the same as the other 1/2 dozen Asian markets in the general area. Gone is the bakery, dim sum & snack area. Gone is the Sushi booth. The fruit & vegetable section is still small compared to other places. The fish & meat area is just ok. Watch out for the slippery tile floors in front of the fish area. New is the tacky & cheesy "chrome double dragon" decoration at the veggie area. Customers are free to roam however and wherever, with no one limiting or controlling the capacity of customers. Assortment wise, they have a decent amount for many different cultures! I will say if you are only looking for Chinese stuff, Flushing grocery stores are better obviously since the whole place is dedicated to just Chinese goods, but this one has a good sampling of multiple cultures, which in my experience isn't true at grocery stores in Flushing. Prices are decent - the day we went (aka the day I am writing this), large watermelon was $4.99/each and a dozen eggs were 79 cents. read more

Right by the local R and M train, this supermarket is situated next to Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, and Malaysian restaurants. Upon arriving to US Supermarket, like most Asian groceries, the produce and fresh market foods are at the entrance way, while the fish and frozen meats are in the back. Sweets, noodles, teas, and other housewares are in the middle isles. If you need some American items, there are some canned goods here too. What excited me about this particular supermarket was that it not only had East Asian foods and drinks but that they also carry a wide arrange of Southeast Asian food and drinks! There was a diverse amount of Filipino and Vietnamese noodles and condiments. I particularly can only get Filipino groceries at an actual Filipino grocery like Phil Am, for instance, in Woodside. I was also excited to find Indonesian instant noodles, something I have never seen before in Asian American groceries like H-Mart, Great Wall, or even Hong Kong Supermarket. Note to Filipinos or those looking to buy Filipino groceries: they carry Calamansi syrup, frozen tocino, frozen longanisa, frozen tapa, etc. They also have Chippy and other Jack and Jill snacks for cheaper prices. I was able to get palabok and pancit noodles here from various Pinoy brands. They accept cash and credit. Large parking lot for those who drive. read more

It's strange why this supermarket doesn't have weekly flyer or website that I can find. I usually decide on which supermarket to go for my weekly grocery supplies by checking the week's special. To save time I only decide on one supermarket base on the item onsale. I did stop by here several time over the year just because I was in the area, restaurant or doctor's office. I do find they have milk cheaper than others and Indonesian instant noodle often go on sale. The meat and seafood department doesn't look appetizing, I have purchased before and do not find their quality/$$$ so I usually don't buy meat or seafood here. The parking lots is fine as long as you don't go on rush hour, most people park and shop and leave quickly. In a supermarket I rather not have big pre-bagged veggies. I like more variety in my diet, so I wish they just let the customer pick or make it smaller bag. read more

It even has a parking lot (even though it could be compared to the hell on earth at certain times of the day). There are cast amounts of Chinese products, Thai products, Korean products.. I mean, with the exception of some Thai snacks and desserts, this place pretty much made Top Line and Pacific obsolete. I can even find BCD soondubu mix in the refrigerator section. The vegetables are plentiful and very fresh and the meat and seafood selection is also well staffed. Happy shopping! US isn't the best Asian supermarket in Queens, but in its little stretch of Elmhurst, it beats out my old haunt, Hong Kong (which has precipitously dropped in quality over the past decade or so). It has a fairly wide variety of East/Southeast Asian food, from produce to dry goods to frozen foods, but I think there are much better places to shop in Flushing or even in Manhattan's Chinatown. The produce here is definitely livelier looking than Hong Kong's down the block, and the service, as is common to many supermarkets of its ilk, is brusque and somewhat sub-TOEFL. But, it's basically organized, it's as clean as I could hope for, the prices are competitive, and I can usually find the random things I'm looking for with a few fun surprises (like a surprisingly broad ramen section, including several from the Ramen Rater's top 10 list, as well as these delicious flavored Filipino pork rinds/chicarrones). I wouldn't make a special trip out here for this supermarket, but if you're eating in the area, it's worth a stop here to pick up some treats. Parking in the neighborhood is pretty awful and the subway is essentially right outside their door, so public transport is probably the way to go. read more

Anyway, this supermarket is "off the hook" when it comes to anything Asian. Their produce is fresh; the butcher shop has all the meats you can possibly think of; and the seafood and fish counter has the variety you want. My mom and I practically bought the whole store! We bought baby bok choy, bitter melon, and okra, just to name a few. We bought pork loin and fresh boneless chicken breasts from the meat counter. And, we bought mussels, littleneck clams, large shrimp, a couple varieties of fish. . . amazing place! For the most part, the store aisles are kept neat and orderly. You can pretty much find all the necessary spices, sauces, and delicacies to make your favorite Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, etc. cooking. This is a large supermarket, but not your standard one. It is full of items that you don't normally see. Tons of items to make just about any kind of Chinese, Japanese or Thai dish. Loads of noodles, soy sauce, chili pastes and much more to choose from. The produce section has some standards likes onions, potatoes and carrots as well as the not so standard like bok choy, bitter melon and durian. The fish counter is quite a sight. A long counter filled with a large variety of whole fish, crabs, clams and lobster. If that isn't what you are looking for you can also find live fish in tanks as well as frogs and turtles. The meat counter is equally impressive. Various kinds of tripe and offal as well as your everyday cuts of meat. One of the reasons I go is that they sell Cafe du Monde coffee, which you don't see in your local Stop n Shop or Key Food. Prices here are in line with American supermarkets and not overly cheap like some other Asian markets, but if you are looking for a different fish or some Asian ingredients you can find it here. read more

I really enjoy this supermarket. Very easy shopping everything is organized and clean I don't feel overwhelmed here. The seafood is fresh the poultry is always cheap the vegetables and fruits are plentiful. The lines are long but fast moving the cashiers don't play they are always on full speed. The parking lot is crazy though again with the Asian drivers man of man, be careful parking they have people watching the lot to make sure you don't park your car and leave the shopping center. Though I don't fancy the red light shining when it comes to meat and poultry (dishonest)-- I cannot discount that this supermarket has a lot more variety than the Golden Sparking supermarket a few blocks down, and is much larger in that sense. I actually love how many different varieties of food they are able to cram in here, and though their vegetables seem to have slower turnover than Golden Sparkling, I do enjoy buying their misc products-- such as their tea and snacks, etc. Of course, the place is also situated right next to a subway station (good for those coming home from work) and next to a park (good for those who want to grab some snacks before the next game of ball-- though the abundant bakeries around play the same role). I think this place is Taiwanese supermarket, but they have many exotic Asian foods including Filipino, Thai and Japanese. They have variety of food and they are cheap. They have fresh fish section, too. I was happy to find Boba Tapioca in this supermarket. Since I became into Taiwanese bubble tea after I lived in Elmhurst, I want to make bubble tea by myself. I found Boba Tapioca here only for $1.79. I saw the same product was sold for almost $8.00. They have cheap Asian snacks, too. I bought Filipino snack here for the first time, and "Oishi" brand snack is really good. My favorite is shrimp snack and potato snack. Finally....this supermarket opened with a new name US supermarket replaced New York Supermarket which was originally Key Food. Well...first I didn't like the set-up, very confusing...to the consumers. they had closed the original entrance and opened up a new one right on the middle, so when you go in with your cart you find people exiting it so carts are bumping into each other on the narrow aisle that was created. It's total chaos. They did not provide enough space from the bins with vegetables to the register where people lined up to pay for their groceries....I find the original set-up more appealing. Although there was all the vegetables and fruits I find stuff like Grape Tomato, Baby red Potatoes, Fresh Herbs like Mint, Thyme, Rosemary missing...then I remember it is a Chinese supermarket, of course I won't find these here...one thing good their Fish section!!! really fresh and very affordable. It's shared with all the restaurants in that little area. The FLOOR is not clean whatsoever. There's bits of green vegetables everywhere. Their SELECTIONS are standard. You can find majority of their items in other supermarkets (cheaper too). They don't have a variety (not even one) of instant chrysanthemum tea bags. They have the ones where you can boil, but I don't have time for that. The snow peas were a bit dried (not fresh). The PRICES are hitting the expensive mark.
