Ugghhh... Foolishly locked myself out of the house... again. It's hot outside. I'm in a hurry. I need to get in, ASAP. Yelp, come to the rescue! I hit the Yelp find-a-service thing and it sent out requests to multiple locksmiths in the area. I'm assuming I'll have to wait minutes, hours, or even days for quotes. Then only seconds later, I get a response from USA Lock and Key, mentioning a flat rate of $79.99 for nearly immediate service (25 minutes away). Let's get it! When the locksmith Haim arrived, I knew right away this was a very professional locksmith who knows what he's doing and he's been doing it for a long time. His clean compact van was essentially a well kept toolbox, even had a key cutting tool in the back. What's more, he had a display with an example dimple key knob, residence knob, and commercial grade knob to show me the differences, while also discouraging bluetooth/smart doorknobs. As the pro he is, he verified my ID and address before getting to work. He gets to work and I noticed, the entire time he had METRO PD license displayed around his neck so I pick his brain about it. Sketchy locksmiths may do work to scope out a place, duplicate keys, or damage knobs to scam customers into buying parts, so it's important that your locksmith be registered through the police department. He even stated he occasionally gets called for Metro assistance. Whoa. Just minutes into the work and I was already into my home. Haim was very knowledgeable, professional, and you could tell he puts a lot of care in his work. Hopefully I won't lock myself out again, but if I do, this is the guy. I needed help with my car after some dingbat tried to break into it and jammed the lock. What happened was I gave them a call, waited an hour for someone to call me back, texted a picture of the lock and then be told "I can't do that" without any further elaboration. They're google reviews say they can do repairs like this. That's wrong and hopefully this review corrects that. read more

What an absolute waste of time. Like any good customer, I called ahead to verify they were still open and able to cut a new key for me. I reached an answering service that assured me that someone would be there and that they would call ahead to make sure that they stayed there. I thanked her for that and made my way to their location. One thing to know is that they change their business name. I don't know why, but for whatever reason it is under a different company name and they have moved down a suite. This is not updated anywhere and a little sus, but I digress. I found myself in a rather humble, tiny space with keys here and there, a sign with their return policy, and a bell that said to ring for service. I rang the bell and out pops a young lady and another woman. I told her that I had spoken to someone on a phone and they directed me to go have the keys cut. She responded and said that we had missed the technician by an hour and a half. I was naturally quite surprised as I was just assured by the business that I would be taking care of and I told her this. The response was that it was an answering service and they were not responsible for what they said. They then offered for me to have the direct line so I can call and make sure that someone was there but I find that completely ridiculous. What's the point of offering these services and saying that you are 24 hours if it's not posted anywhere? Not that I expect a lot of communication or explanation for a company that can't be bothered to update their name or their location! I told them no thank you, that I was certainly not returning, and to have a good day. I honestly don't know how establishments like this stay in business. Especially after when I started to explain that I drove across town and I didn't see myself returning, the girl walked away from me while I was talking! Really, just terrible service. read more

He attempted to call AAA, but all they could offer was to tow the car to a dealership so it could be serviced on Monday morning. Thankfully, we found this business. They responded within minutes, showed up in less than an hour, and within less than an hour the technician was able to get my friend back into his car, make two new keys on the spot, and program the keys to work in my friend's vehicle. It's a hassle losing keys especially if it's your car keys with no spare. We'll, usa lock and key was very helpful. I called them and they sent Dan the man out which only took 15 minutes to get to me. He tinkered with the door and got me a key made with a spare in around 20 minutes. I put in a request through yelp for a laser cut key. They answered and gave a price and even though their business hours are listed. They were not open at those times. So I had to go back during a different time, the next time I went in they were there but they said their tech only works between certain hours (11a-5p). Went back the last time during those hours and the tech still was nowhere to be found. Only to then finally be told I could have their tech come to me. I spoke to 3 different people both through yelp AND in person, after all this got one last message (through yelp) of getting a discount for the inconvenience. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I purchased a key almost a month ago and the key is not working properly. The key does not trigger any lights on my vehicle and the work performed was poor. The tech who performed my service, had to go underneath the dashboard to program my key. Totally normal until my A/C started blowing warm in 116 degree weather. Do yourself a favor, spend a little extra money and go to the dealership. This way you can get the service done properly and if not, at least they won't dodge your calls for a month. read more

I had a new key fob programmed from this compsny. Had several problems with it and contacted them. They assisted and delivered a new one. Had problems again and had to pay for uber to/from work. They wete too budy to assist due the holidays and my car begin to operate without issue. Then slowly but surely the problems began again. USA Lock and Key was one of the first to respond and provided an exact estimate, other companies either did not respond or indicated they did not provide the service. I received a quick response when I called to schedule and a technician was dispatched quickly to my home. They were able to quickly replace the lock onsite despite some challenges from damage from the attempted break in and even ensured the lock fit my existing car key. The technician was extremely cordial and professional throughout the appointment. The final price, even with the extra work, was actually less than the original quote and the technician ensured the lock was well tested before leaving. Called to get service on our lock on our truck and waited from 1pm till 6 pm for them to tell us continuously that a tech was gonna call us to set up an appt for him to come by and fix the lock. So we waited & waited and no one called us to let us know what was going on. We also called them every 30 mins to check and see if they had forgotten about us still the same answers and we waited all day didn't go to do our errands because we didn't wanna miss the call or the visit to our home. I would not recommend - very deceiving sales pitch and the tech had me Venmo him to his personal account. For a replacement Honda key he somehow convinced me to pay him $285. He said he was giving me a "discount" and it would have been over $300 if I wanted to pay with card. I called the manager twice and asked for a partial refund and let him know what happened. Each time the receptionist let me know that the manager would contact me and he never did. I would save yourself a headache and avoid this company. read more
