Wish I could give this establishment less than one star. Absolutely, without a doubt one of the most unpleasant service experiences we've ever had. Here's what happened. An employee knocked a bottle of purple OPI polish off the wall. It hit the floor and shattered spilling purple polish on both of my mother's brand new Flexx black suede shoes. When my mother told the employee that he had spilled the polish on her shoes, his first reaction was to say, "Well, it's not like I threw the bottle at you." Then, instead of apologizing and offering to take financial responsibility for the incident, the employee (and then the manager) tried to suggest that my mother knocked the polish off the wall herself. The owner finally tried to clean the polish off the shoes with acetone and handed them back saying they were fine. In fact, the finish of her shoes is completely ruined where they applied the acetone. They even embarrassed her in front of all the other customers by also accusing her of lying about the shoes being new. She finally left because the owner went back to working on a customer and blatantly ignored her. The result? No manicure, damaged shoes, and still shocked by the unbelievably rude treatment by the owner and employee. Avoid this awful place like the plague. We're a family of long-term customers who will definitely never visit USA Nails again. Go to a gas station to get your nails done before you go here. read more

First couple visits were fine. The third visit, I don't know what happened, but my big toe nail is all messed up. It hurt when he was doing the pedicure, and the nail was separated from the bed. HORRIBLE! My manicure was rushed, sloppy and the worse one I have ever had, despite repeatedly asking the man to fix his mistakes as he went. He did not. When I complained, Lyn offered to fix it, which I appreciated. I waited for about 15 minutes, and another 20 minutes later she produced a marginally better manicure. When I inquired about a few spots, she blamed me and my "short" nails for the sloppy spots. I asked what I owed for the pedicure and wax, and told her I was not going to pay for a manicure that cost me an extra 45 minutes. She immediately raised her voice in a crowded salon and accused me of not paying my bill. It was RIDICULOUS, RUDE and totally UNPROFESSIONAL. I will NEVER go back here again. It was a really good atmosphere and accommodated our larger party really well with no wait (we called ahead, so the water was ready). The stylist I got wasn't too talkative but she did pretty good. A couple of my nails (my thumb in a picture on here) is really uneven and bumpy. Some parts are more coated than others. My pointer finger on the same hand is already peeling off (we got the nails done on Friday, today is Tuesday). Got gel on the hands and regular on the feet. read more

I have been going to this place to get my nails done for a long time now. However, the quality of service, customer service and atmosphere isn't what it use to be. Not one week after getting my nails done by Lee the gel polish peeled on two of my fingers. I went back to have them fixed and he told me it was my fault because I tap my fingers to hard while typing. Hmm, I didn't say anything. First of all, I asked how much it would cost and they told me it would be 27. Which to me is a good deal. Called to inquire about getting a nail repaired and was told to come right in. So I arrived 10 minutes later and said I just called a few minutes ago about a nail repair. The girl said, oh we can't do that. When I told her again that I had just been told to come right in, an extremely rude male Asian manager came out and gave me a hard time, essentially telling me to get out. Just left there, not sure I'm going back (at least to the guy I had). He didn't even soak my hands to begin with, he was clipping my nails and kept wanting to get the skin with the nail clipper. Finally he did cut my skin with the nail clippers! I was not happy! He kept pulling on my fingers very hard, was not gentle at all. I paid for a full manicure which includes hand massaging. I called at 3:30 and was told to come in at 6. Arrived at 5:58, waited until 6:20. You close at 7, and yet I was there til nearly 8:00. I said twice I wanted a gel mani and pedi, upon calling and again on arrival. Once my pedi was done and I was being gestured to the door, I had to remind again that I wanted a mani. Then I waited another 20 minutes, while someone who came in nearly 30 minutes AFTER me got a pedicure before someone did my mani. I was charged for a deluxe pedi, even though I was never asked which pedi I wanted. I wasn't the only one either, other clients were complaining about the same thing when they were paying. Then when I go to pay, I find out you charge a fee $7 debit fee unless people have cash and your atm is "out of cash". Convenient. You should TELL your customers this BEFORE service. Then when I ask this information to be repeated after it is yelled at me from across the room, one of your employees asks me "what part of that you no get girl? You no speak the language? I thought you smart girl?"... are you kidding me? How dare you speak to a customer this way? I will never go back here. I would recommend no one else goes here either.... read more

Just had the worst experience ever. Brought my own polish because I wanted the particular color. He told me it would look "lumpy" because I didn't use theirs (mine was a brand new bottle - no reason to think this). Charged $26 to just change the polish - not even a manicure. Got the gel all over my fingers so when I got home I had to try to peel it off and clip it off so the polish wouldn't all come off. This was after I asked him to fix it twice. He said they were fine. The service was nice, pedicure nice, she even helped me with some problem spots, and the massage was pretty good too. My chair #10 didn't work great but that's my only complaint. My friend and I made an appointment with plenty of notice. When we arrived to check in we were immediately asked what we wanted. I was unfamiliar with what nail services they offered, and when I asked I was ignored and told to sit down at the opposite end of the room from my friend (having made an appt, we expected to at least be able to sit next to each other). The man who looked to be the manager was incredibly rude, tossing the nail color samples at me and asked me to pick one. At this point I was completely turned off, and surprised, by this man's attitude and impatience and told him I change my mind about getting mine done (especially by him) and would like to sit by my friend. He is not pleased by this at all, walks me over to my friend, pulls up a chair and I sit. He then mocks me to the guy doing my friend's nails about how I wanted to sit with her, and stamps off after mumbling Chinese under his breath. That's when I would have walked out but my friend was now getting her nails done. The atmosphere is very factory-like and impersonal. There is zero customer service (I understand that a language barrier can have some to do with that) but from checking in to leaving, there is not a single word between service provider and customer. Just machines (literally an ATM by the checkout). The prices were just as high as they would be at a professional salon and spa, where you can actually relax and chat with a friend). My friend was asked repeatedly to get the more expensive gel polish over what she really wanted. The employees there all seem very fake, and it is obvious they want you in and out and the most money out of you as possible. While we were sitting there we heard a woman (jokingly?) say "I am going to charge you more for being difficult" but no one knew how to react and it was cringey. This is my first review I have ever written of any place, in my all my years I have never had such a poor experience. This place did a decent job on my acrylic manicure, but sanded down my real nails far too much. The finished product looked good, but their services were a detriment to my real nails. I felt that the salon was not very clean and smelled of dead fish which was extremely off putting. They took longer than average to give me a fill, but were detail oriented to be sure they got it right. Prices were average. I'm from out of town and gave this place a try. If I were staying, I would probably try another place since the overall atmosphere was not ideal or cleanly. The people were very friendly though. read more

i waited a month before writing this to not overreact. The nail application was excellent - my nails were done well and they have not lifted, etc. However, and this is the reason for the low rating, I asked for a balance/fill for my acrylic nails. The tech said she would just use a gel - something as a polish and it would not be so expensive. I repeatedly said that I wanted acrylic. She then painfully began taking off my acrylics! I got my nails done here for my wedding. The guy that did my nails didn't act like he cared one bit and I was just money to him. I've done my nails better than what this guy did. Within 3 days my nails got stuck in my hair if I ran my nails through it. Looking at my nails once I left, they were bumpy and way to thick. I also have flat nails and the guy acted as if he'd never worked on nails that were flat. When he connected the fake nail to my nail it didn't even fully connect. I had to point it out and all he did was glue it so it "closed" I have a 1/4 of nail to glue to acrylic on my thumb. I wouldn't ever go back. There was acrylic buildup under my nails and it was attached to me skin! And the shaping was off so some nails looked good and others not so much. I'm giving USA Nails two stars instead of one mainly because I've been having my nails done here for over a year or so without issue before the rotten experience I had there today. I walked-in this morning around 10:30am, was greeted right away, and let the young man working the front desk know that I was looking for a mani/pedi. I was a little nervous when one particular tech sat down to give me my pedicure, mainly because she's been very brisk and somewhat unfriendly when I've had her in the past, but I tried not to think much of it. The pedicure itself was fine, although definitely rushed, and when we were done she led me over to the drying station. Confused, I let her know that I had signed up for a manicure as well and was promptly told that they "didn't have time for that today." I was floored. First of all, if that was the case, perhaps it should have been mentioned when I first arrived. Secondly, what business turns away a customer who literally has a credit card in hand, ready to pay them for a service? There were only three other customers waiting at the time, each of whom I'd watched walk-in just as I had, so it wasn't as if they had made prior appointments that were now running behind. It was busier than usual, being a Saturday morning, and one of the local schools has a prom this evening so I'm sure led to some additional traffic, but why not plan for that accordingly and either stop taking appointments at some point or add additional staff to accommodate all of your potential customers? The end result was that I was expected to pay $32 for a pedicure only, then go somewhere else for a $20 manicure when the mani/pedi combo that I was originally anticipating would have cost me $45. I should add that I'm nine months pregnant, so I'm sure my out-of-whack hormones didn't contribute to the level of my reaction to such poor customer service, but I can safely say that I absolutely will not be patronizing this business again. Of the few other standard strip-mall nail salons in Findlay, I'd found USA Nails to be the cleanest and generally the most reasonable in terms of pricing (although I still grumbled on occasion, being spoiled by $30 mani/pedi combos while living in Boston for several years), but for me that no longer compensates for the lack of professionalism and customer awareness that I experienced there today. read more

I used to live in Findlay, moved to Southern Ohio for several years, then moved back to the Defiance area. I now drive an hour each way to come to USA Nails in Findlay because they are so good. They are very clean, curteous, and my nails always look great. A month ago I would have given them 5 stars. However, I have had a couple of disappointments. Two visits ago I came in for a fill and a pedi. I love my pedi's. They are a heavenly experience for me...relaxing and one of the few ways I pamper myself. I called ahead because it was going to be 6 pm before I could get there and I wanted to be sure they had time and space to do both. They assured me they did. The man who did both was obviously rushing to get out of there. What a disappointment!! And then on my last visit I had a repair needed on one of my thumbs. Instead of putting on a new acrylic tip the woman just put the overlay material right on my own thumb nail. Now that thumb nail is shorter than the rest of my nails! Come on guys. I had been a regular at another local nail salon. But after reading these reviews, I decided to give USA Nails a try. First I was impressed with the calming color scheme and clean appearance of the salon. I made an appointment for later that day and, when I returned for my appointment, was immediately seated at one of the pedicure stations. After soaking for a few minutes, a technician was ready to get started. She was efficient and friendly without being overly talkative. I was pleased with the results of my pedi. The cost was $32.00. I was not given a cash/card option when paying. I did observe the technician cleaning the pedi tools after she had used them for me. read more
