We've been dealing with a horrible faucet fixture leak that was causing basement flooding for weeks, and American Home Shield had to send out three different contractors to get the problem fixed. The third one was USA Plumbing, and by the time they were assigned, it was a constant daily problem where we were mopping up water every hour or two and dealing with huge messes overnight. They initially were only available the next day, but I stressed the urgency of our problem. They offered a 3-6 pm slot and then moved it up to 12-3 pm after we got AHS to expedite the dispatch. The technician himself was great, he communicated well and found the problem fairly quickly. We did end up with some extra out of pocket costs because the home warranty didn't cover gaining access to the pipes and replacing the broken pipe, which is more a problem with AHS than with USA Plumbing. We settled on a fair price for the extra cost in the end, and he was quick to address the situation. Within two hours, we were able to turn our water back on without a leak, and he said he'd come back for a future appointment to do a rough patch job on the access hole he had to cut under our sink. Overall, I'm very pleased with USA Plumbing's end of the work to get through this ordeal, and I'm thankful this is (mostly) over with now. read more

USA Plumbing came out to diagnose an issue with our water heater pilot light not staying on. We have had to repeatedly relight the pilot, which is why we requested service. The technician simply relit the pilot and said the pilot assembly might need to be replaced. However, he then reported to our home warranty company (AHS) that the problem was resolved and claimed the pilot was going out because a cover was missing. That cover has been missing for over 10 years, so that explanation does not make sense. No actual repair was performed. Relighting the pilot is something we already know how to do, and it did not fix the problem. Despite this, the warranty company was charged as if the issue had been resolved. When we tried to address these concerns, the owner was extremely rude and dismissive instead of trying to help or clarify the situation. If they did not know how to fix the issue, they should have been honest so we could seek a competent plumber. Made a claim with my warranty company for my disposal that wasn't working. USA plumbing was assigned the job. Took 2 days for them to contact me about the job and another 8 days before it was installed. Wasn't too concerned about the delay as it wasn't something I absolutely needed fixed immediately. Technician came and installed it quickly and left. After he left I noticed large bloody fingerprints on my sink as well as under the sink on the floor of the cabinet. USA Plumbing will not be recommended to anyone. I wish I had taken a pick of the water puddle the tech left in my garage from hauling the old unit off. If this is the kind of work their Lead Plumber leaves behind, I can only imagine what he's taught their junior plumbers. Read all of the reviews. The owner's declaration on their page should have been a red light. I'd think twice. I'm hoping race wasn't a factor but I'm hard pressed to believe otherwise. read more

These guys should lose their license. They are the most dishonest company I ever countered. They were sent by American Home Shield and literally did everything they could to avoid doing work. First, they tried to claim there was sediment within a valve and cartridge without even opening the valve. Even American Home Shield authorized them to do the work to properly diagnose the issue and they refused to do the work saying they had to leave and were running late. American Home Shield themselves were appalled that their own vendor refused to do work. Then USA plumbing tried to deny replacing my water heater when even AHS approved. USA plumbing tried to retaliate against me when I complained about their poor service and that they were performing work illegally by altering their report. Furthermore, they tried to insist on installing the water heater without a permit. This is illegal in the state of California and the city I live in. Not only did they try to refuse to add the permit to the work order, but they weren't even educated enough to know it is required. For a "licensed" plumber this is negligence and they can lose their license as any work over $500 requires them to obtain proper permits and they tried to avoid it because they felt they wouldn't get paid enough for the permit. They finally agreed to add the permit to the work order after I argued with them on a recorded line with AHS and told them they wouldn't violate California law. He said he would have to "discuss the permit with his manager". Then as American Home Shield reported my coverage, USA Plumbing kept increasing what they would charge trying to price gouge me and American Home Shield. Even AHS told me that USA Plumbing acted unethically and would file complaint. Imagine that, a home warranty company who was paying the bill stated their own contractor acted unethically? How bad does it get! I will be pursuing this complaint further with the state license board for them retaliating against me when I realized concerns about them illegally installing a water heater without a permit and for being too lazy and incompetent to properly and thoroughly diagnose a valve issue by trying to claim they knew what the cause was without proper due diligence. The best part is they tried to insist the issue was with a broken cartridge but another plumber sent by American home shield had already replaced the cartridge two days earlier. When I told USA plumbing this he just insisted the cartridge was broken and when I asked how that would be the case if it was replaced two days earlier, he had no explanation and just continued to double down on his illogical answer and continued to refuse to actually open the valve and inspect the cartridge. I will be pursuing this with the California licensing board as I believe their attempted actions were illegal and unethical. read more

We were off to a bad start and my warranty issue hadn't even been resolved. This company was the company that American Home Shield assignment to deal with my water heater claim. I immediately looked the company up to check their reviews and I contacted AHS back immediately, asking if they could dispatch another company out based on the reviews I had saw because I didn't have the time to deal with a company that was going to give me problems & low and behold, I'm having problems already. First I called the company 5 minutes after 8am and got a voicemail. I left an urgent message and explained my situation and the need to try to get someone out urgently. 2.5 hours go by and I still never heard anything back from the company, so I called them back & was able to get an appointment window for the same day. I live and work over 2 hours apart, so I had to leave work immediately to be able to make it home so that I wouldn't miss the window in case tech shows up right away, which he didn't. Anyways, the tech Isaac finally comes and checks the water heater and tells me that he's about to put the call into dispatch with the report and I should be hearing back within a couple hours or the next day about setting up a time for the repairs and the cost, what's covered, etc. Mind you he was at my home all of 5 minutes. He asked me to set a timer to see how long it would take pilot light to go off & I did just that. Within 2 minutes it was off & I text him to tell him. Anyways, It's now 2 days post my initial contact with the company and I still haven't received any calls or emails about my repair. I call AHS back and I'm told they never received a report & they were never even made aware that the company had even came out to check the problem. I emailed the rep a screenshot of the text the technician sent me & she told me basically there was nothing they could do because no report was received on their end. I am furious at this point & AHS won't even allow me to switch to another company at this point. I'm being told that I just have to wait to hear back from USA Plumbing. This is BS. I was finally able to get ahold of someone at USA Plumbing who states the tech tested positive for COVID & that's why I didn't hear back from anyone. So now there's another issue. Your company doesn't even notify customers that have come into contact with the tech (who wasn't wearing a mask) that he had COVID, and he states it's not needed when in fact it is. I work in the medical field and all persons in contact with the tech within the previous 10 days should have been notified that he tested positive. Especially with him not having a mask on. Now day of repair comes and it takes the new tech literally all day to complete the work. He did a good job but prior to leaving he told me the reason it took so long was because he was never made aware of the work order for my home & so that's why he had to come and leave prior to coming back to complete the job. He showed up a lil before 11am, left for an hour and a half & came back and finished job, which was completed around 6:30pm He didn't have any of the equipment needed when he was dispatched out. I feel sorry for the tech. It also isn't good customer service to just send your customer of list of repairs with no further explanation as to what they are paying for. Customer shouldn't have to research on their own to try to figure out what's what. I will definitely be looking for another company to get a new home warranty with, hopefully one where I can pick the company myself. Communication from USA plumbing has not been the best. I will try tone brief. I was referred to this company by my home warranty company. I had to wait about 5 days to get an appointment for a leak in my water heater. I knew it would have to be replaced. I told the technician I spoke to and he agreed it sounded like I need a new water heater. Appointment day finally arrives. As I've known..water heater needs to be replaced. The technician was at my house for about 20 min. He said they will need to call and find out about the warranty, etc. They will contact me in A WEEK! I called the company towards the end of that day to get a status. No way can I go a week with a busted water heater. Called the next day because I got no call back. I reiterate my concern for waiting a week. The lady explained it takes time, etc etc. Thus lady was not very helpful in any way. She was getting frustrated with me because I wanted the job done sooner than later. She told me if I wanted this done sooner then I should call the manufacturer to get a new water heater since it was still under warranty. So, she basically told me do their work to speed up the process. I called my home warranty company to get another business to assist me since USA Plumbing was not going to help me. As of the next day, the warranty company had not received a call or the information from this plumbing company. Because I called my warranty company they called USA Plumbing and guess what.....they got the information they needed. Now...my warranty company tells me I have to pay $935 to USA Plumbing for their job. WTF! I speak to the lady again at USA Plumbing about the job. Again she tells me I need to get my water heater and they will install it! I get transferred to another man and he too tells me...it's my responsibility to get a new water heater. They don't get paid to do that. He then says "out of the goodness of their heart" they could call the manufacturer. So basically..I would pay them close to $1000 and "out of the kindness of their heart" they will not call for me! I called another plumbing company and they came out the next day. Called the manufacturer, went to Home Depot to pick it up. Installed the water heater that same day!! And I paid $150 less than this damn company quoted me! I WOUOD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! If you want to do all the leg work..then you need to call this company. Nightmare of a company, was forced to deal with them because of our home warranty, they fixed 1 of 4 problems, after two visits- still were incompetent. If you are forced to use them because of your home warranty- DONT! Ask your home warranty company to cash you out and hire a competent plumber to actually fix the problem. One of the issues was non-covered per my home warranty and I refused to let USA plumbing fix the problem. They wanted $450 to modify 3 pipes, not including parts and labor paid by the warranty. My home warranty assigned USA plumbing for garbage disposal and bathroom faucet repair. Justin was the guy who initially came to fix the issues. He temporarily fixed the faucet thats spreading water all over sink. The same issue occurred again and he came back and mentioned he will replace the aerator and came after 2 weeks and fixed the aerator. Regarding garbage disposal not working, Justin unjammed it with wrench and left. He gave me a wrench to do it every-time it happens. We asked him to replace, but he keeps saying it cant be replaced until its completely jammed and left. I unjammed multiple times with wrench to get it working. Eventually, it became so tight, even its harder using a wrench to unjam it. Now a new technician Paul arrived and replaced the garbage disposal, but he FORGOT the connection to Dishwasher and left. Once we turned on dishwasher, there is flood of water all over my wooden kitchen floor. I called these guys the evening same day, but they keep saying as its end of the day, there is no backup and the lady keeps arguing thats nothing to do with them. It costed us considerable amount of time and effort to drain the area under sink/wooden floors/dining area/kitchen mats. Not sure if any damage occured to the wall under the sink. Next day the Paul came and keeps saying that a screw to connect both worn out and the tube fell off, which he should have noticed when replacing the unit. Need to go back and forth from office to home, each time to get it fixed, causing us huge pain & discomfort. A mere 15-20 min job of replacing took almost 2.5 months and number of calls between home warranty & USA plumbing. Totally disappointed. read more

I have a warranty for my Walnut Creek Home and my water heater went out,. I contacted my warranty company, they confirmed it was covered. Ray came out and looked at it, confirmed the need to replace and said he would submit the paperwork to Warranty for approval. What I received was "coverage" but he tacked on 7 separate items which fell out of warranty and totaled almost $1500. So I had a friend from outside area (he owns his own plumbing company) to review the items listed and he confirmed of the 7, only 1 arguably should have been there (an old pipe might possibly get in the way), he didnt see why it should be over $100 to cut the inactive pipe and the other 6 items listed were excessive charges. I called USA plumbing scheduler and she was incredibly rude. They also screwed me by listing the water heater pricing at $615 (meaning thats the max I can get refunded by my Warranty company); I asked can they seriously do water heaters at $615 she said yes, but stuck by the additional $1500 in 7 tack-on charges. In fairness Ray was a nice enough guy but it almost makes it worse he would try to do that, and the scheduler/call-in receptionist was horrendously rude - like on another level. Picture of my new water heater but you judge for yourself if additional charges were necessary - note that the inactive pipe up top we just cut it off to clear more room for install, and that's because I went with a max size water heater. As an update and since the owner wrote such a crazy response, i called another plumbing service. They quoted me $125/hr, they took a line with a cutter tip and went through the outside feed and went 60ft and cleared my line completely. They also inspected under my house and saw that my toilet vent pipe was broken off. Likely due to this guy jamming their line up into the wrong location and just forcing it through. Anyway, same company repaired this pipe and in under 4 hr and charged me $550 total with labor. Wonder what American would have quoted. Second, they charged me only $125 to clear the main which took them 45min. In all a much better and reasonable experience. Sorry American. I only report fair comments. Neighbor requested service. USA van parked in our reserved spot when the CLEARLY labeled guest spot 15 feet from our parking spot was open. Called the office to tell them to move their van. Drivers lied to dispatch saying there was nowhere to park and there was road construction which was not true. Disrespectful staff. Office was apologetic. Workers lack common courtesy and professionalism. Due to this, I would never use them. Plenty of other plumbing services with staff trained in respect and common courtesy. By the way, the neighbor getting work done had their spot open too but it wasnt in the shade. Yeah, my home warranty sent this company over to fix my thermal control for the water heater. The plumber broke the water pan under my water heater and left. They had to come back because they did not install the thermal control properly, there was a gas leak and made my whole garage smell like rotten eggs for days. I won't use this company and will not allow the home warranty to have them come to my house ever. They are not only incompetent but also dangerous that they left a gas leak. Worst company ever... sent on behalf of AHS Home Warranty. They were called to fix a running toilet. They installed new toilet parts that malfunctioned and had to came back the following week. Second time out, still couldn't fix the running toilet. They turned off the water to my house, then water wouldn't come back on to the house. They told me it would cost $3200 to fix, as I have clogged pipes and they'll need to dig out the pipes. What the hell???? They told me it was an "unforeseeable issue" and I'd have to schedule another appointment. They LEFT ME with no water to the house and still a nonfunctioning toilet. Told me to wait for their office to call, which they never did. Instead, their company canceled AHS to cancel my service order. On my own, I called another plumber which arrived within hours, they diagnosed the problem to be the shut off valve, not clogged pipes. They were able to fix the shut off valve for $350 and fix the poor work started on my toilet. All for under $500!! I will never allow AHS to send USA Plumbing company to my house again!!!!! The owner Will was very unprofessional in they way he handled my call to find out how much it was going to cost to bring things up to code. If there was an option to select no stars or a half star I would've provided just that! USA Plumbing was chosen by my home warranty company and I feel like they are insurance frauds because they are contracted by insurance companies which is easy money and easy business for them. They assigned an incompetent, unqualified, 21 year old and inexperienced young "technician" by the the name of Daniel to the job. Unfortunately, Daniel was not capable of doing the job that he was dispatched to do but instead of saying he could not do the job he instead did the unthinkable, he lied and said the job was completed. I watched him as he performed the work and what he did did not require a plumber but something any amateur like myself would do for a temporary fix. When I informed the company the problems had not been rectified they reassigned him again (second time) to come out to perform repairs that he initially tried to fix but he still didn't get it right so USA attempted to send him for a THIRD time for the same exact problems but I refused and asked for a more experienced technician. By this time my insurance has been contacted and it was concluded that they reassigned a whole new plumbing company since the USA tech wasn't able to perform. It's unfortunate that he not only wasted my time because I had to take off work but it seems like he wasted his company's time as well and they're okay with that. Just like all these other reviews, I too have AHS Home Warranty, and although I wasn't happy with the customer service from them, I really enjoyed working with USA Plumbing. Our waste line broke in two locations, inside the wall behind the kitchen sink and was leaking into our basement. I called AHS at 6:30 the night before and USA Plumbing was able to show up the next day. Justin showed up an hour before my schedule time slot (which was great since we are quarantined!), he was patient with us while we tried to salvage our cabinets before having to cut a hole into it, and then worked diligently to get our leak fixed. Justin was very nice, and I plan to call them again when we have another plumbing issue. read more

I just had my kitchen leaky faucet replaced via the USA plumbing, based on the AHS home warranty. Though the repair went smooth, the guy named Michael did not finish the work completely and try to leave while still on the phone with someone else. There were still leakages on the bottom part of the faucet. He then came back and realized that he forgot to tighten the bottom area and apologized to me for that. One feedback back to USA plumbing. While the repair in progress. please not talking with anyone who ends up forgetting the last task. He may be talking with a colleague or something as a way to do multi-tasking. This company is so unprofessional. They have zero customer service. Came to my house on 5/21. Took a bunch of pictures of my water heater. Told me they would call me the following day. I had to follow up. Somehow the technician's phone was not working. I had to take pictures. Told they need to find the part. Another week goes by, I have to call again.
