it takes a lot for me to write a bad review but I want to save others a waste of time if I can....I waited over an hour and no one came to see me. The receptionist was pleasant but I could tell that it was unorganized. I went in to be seen for a minor cosmetic spider vein procedure. I explained that I did not need the procedure that day but I wanted a consultation....I would be a very quick visitor. After 40 min. the receptionist came in and I asked her not to forget about me and that I had another appointment. Finally after an hour I just left....so much for making appointments. I wish I had read the reviews on this site prior to wasting my time. read more

Now almost 2 1/2 years from service, I NEVER received a follow-up call after my wound healing services required after USAVC "services". I now have excess swelling and even more spider vein development over a two year period than I ever did in the past. Mind you, I average over 11,000 steps/day over a year and exercise. Avoid USAVC as mistakes can cost you years of problems. read more

My experience with the phone call center and the billing department have been a complete disaster. If this office could separate from them, then it might be ok, but I would definitely not start my treatments here if I had to do it over. read more

Never EVER get treated by them. I am helping my mother who is in medicare with her billing issues. I has been a total nightmare This place is a franchise. If you need to talk to the doctor, It is absolutely horrible to try to contact the office directly. The doctor has no say on your billing or appointmet changes. You have to call the call center. When you call, someone for a call center answers. Your are lucky if they have the correct answer. Not only that, but they charge whatever they want to your insurance. They charged my mother's insurance $20,000 for a procedure that should have been $900!!! ( I asked the doctor and he said it was wrong. I wish I could upload my bill. Granted, I only had to pay a $20 copay but what is horrible is that the insurance payed no questions asked!! This is why insurance rates go up for everyone. My legs have been hurting for a couple of years, and over the last year it was getting worse with my ankles swelling pretty much every day. It always felt like I just finished running a marathon, my legs were always so tired. At night, I had problems going to sleep because my legs hurt so badly. I knew that varicose veins ran in my family so I decided to see if that was the problem. I went to Vein Clinics of America in Alexandria, VA because it was the closest one to where I lived. They saw me very quickly for an initial appointment. If I had only one complaint it was that I couldn't get my mapping appointment for something like 3 months. Once the mapping was done, it turned out that I did have a bad vein in each leg. The appointments were scheduled and I went through the procedure, one leg one day and then the other the next. My doctor was Mehru Sonde and she was awesome. She is the regional director of Vein Clinics and told me that she has done about 2500 of these procedures. I was nervous about pain (I'm not exactly a big fan of needles, of which there are ALOT through this process) but the pain was literally a pinch (unlike was the dentist tells you). Dr Sonde does a great job of keeping up a distracting conversation throughout the whole procedure. The recovery was exactly like she said, some bruising and tenderness which went away in a couple of days. I had no problem going to work or walking after the procedure. Once the 2 larger veins were done, I went in about a week later for another mapping to make sure that that everything went well and it did. The next couple of appointments were for the smaller veins, and again - lots of needles, but the pain is very manageable. Lots of little tiny pinches. I still have 2 more "clean up of smaller spider veins" appointments to go, but I am confident enough at this point to post a review. 3 days ago it dawned on me that neither of my legs hurt anymore, my ankles were no longer swollen, and my legs didn't feel tired when I walked. My medical insurance covered the procedure (and if you can get those tightwads to pay, you know that the procedure is legit). All of the nurses who did the spider veins, and women who did the sonogram mappings were professional, caring and total sweethearts. I very highly recommend this clinic. read more

Vein Clinics of America SUCKS as a whole! First off, I was forced to work with an office that I was not happy with. Despite my request of not wanting to work with the same office they refused to let me go to their office in Fairfax. I wonder if I was from here 100% I would have been treated that way. I let my leg heal for months and then decided to call them to schedule an appointment for the spider vein cosmetic treatment that resulted from the procedures they performed. Now they are refusing to see me period!!! This is beyond ridiculous that your unprofessional staff caused me termendous stress and now you guys discriminate! This is discrimination by all means, first, they kept messing with me until they got the reaction they deserved....I'm the bad guy now?!!!! A patient should have the right to work with a different office and that's all I have been wanting!!!!! I'll make sure my review about your customer service gets posted everywhere. read more

Our first appointment was great. Our second appointment was rescheduled due to no ultrasound tech that day. You would think you would've known this when making appointment. Received a text the day if the rescheduled appointment that due to sickness we needed to be there 15 min earlier. The text came way before most people get up in the morning. We tried, but we live in Northern Virginia. We were refused to be seen. We will not be going back there or any Vein clinics of America. read more

Not sure what took place but had procedures done to both my legs in July & August and I have been trying to contact them in Maple Grove MN to ask a simple question and when I call the number I get USA Vein Clinic. The person that answers is foreign and state that they are not able to put you through to anyone and if you have a question you have to make an appointment. I spent thousands of dollars and should be able to ask a simple question without making an appointment. It is all about the MONEY not the patient now. I have called at least 6 times and all foreign nationality, and all said the same thing that I had to make an appointment. It seems they are no longer Vein Clinic of America they are USA Vein Clinic - DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT HELP as you cannot get through unless you make an appointment. read more

I had a terrible experience going through a treatment at Vein Clinics of America 4900 Seminary Rd, Alexandria, VA. Initially I had gone there because I had concerns about small spider veins on my legs(they were really small). Somehow they(nurse and doctor) convinced me that I had to undergo a sort of laser surgery in order to get rid of the little spider veins. I accepted what they were telling me and I started the recommend treatment. I ended up having at least ten appointments and every time after an appointment they would tell me that I had to schedule a next one. I asked them in different occasions why couldn't they do their job with fewer appointments, but they could never give me a straight answer. The front desk ladies were rude in many occasions and every time I would ask questions about the treatment, they would reply me back with very blurry answers. At the end of the treatment, the little spider veins that I was so concerned about were still there on my legs and for my surprise they told me if I wanted to get rid of them I would have to pay extra. I just couldn't believe that I had gone an expensive and time consuming treatment to see no result. In addition, they don't have free parking and it can get quite expensive after a few appointments. The only star here goes to one of the technician, I can't remember his name, but he was the person in charge to the ultrasound. I don't recommend this business and I would not go back. read more

Four years later and 1) I never recovered from the unnecessary surgery 2) VCA never reached out to me about the problem. That canned sympathetic response that they give to bad reviews is a lie that adds insult to injury. read more

The Alexandria, VA office of Vein Clinics has been treating me quite successfully over the past 14 years, after developing significant vein problems. one life-threatening. During my first couple visits, the doctor called for more lab tests, and the results defined how much needed to be done, and in a week, a blood factor was uncovered, and I began wearing compression stockings. It was important to return for check-ups as suggested, and edema was finally minimal. After several years, I returned, to find a new lead physician was in charge. I was re-examined and my varicose veins were "cleaned up" thanks to new technologies, and I am extremely pleased with the vast improvements that have followed! read more

I've had intensive work done here, I never knew it was so involved but it is and for the total well being of your legs and circulation. I must say, my legs feel better and haven't got to the fun part yet with injections for slightly leg veins. Will update! Everyone is really great in the office, excellent customer service, helpful, knowledgeable. I will give this place 1 star for the procedure I got, things seem to be healing well and so far so good! My issue is that I went for a follow up and somehow I need multiple other procedures costing a lot of money, they seem to relish putting more appointments on the books! The woman working the front desk (not sure her name) pretended she was nice when booking my future appointments but then told me I couldn't leave until I paid my outstanding balance of over $600. Except for the fact that after my procedure the other woman that was working at the front desk said I would be billed via mail as she wasn't sure what my deductible was. That was fine with me and we literally got the bill 3 days before this appointment. I told the woman at the front desk that we got this bill and we're in the process of paying it, we already made one payment which did not show up in her bill. At the end of it she let me leave and literally told me "you better pay this bill sooner rather than later". I have since canceled all my future appointments and they need to change their front office staff! read more

Avoid at all costs!! I had both legs done 4 years ago with incredible success - no downtime, no pain, fabulous! I went back last year to the new Dr., he never even met me before he started on my veins two weeks later. He went in at my upper calf, right behind my knee and kept pushing and pushing. He then told me I must have scar tissue (I had a knee replacement the year before) and he was going to have to go back in on top of that (the lowest part of my thigh) and go up more. When I sat up, the gurney was covered in blood (I tried not to panic) and by the next morning I had two HUGE hematomas where he went in both places and couldn't bend my knee! I never went back and now they have sent me to a collection agency for $1000 in "my" fees. Horrible - no communication and a just a bad experience allover. I would try ANY of the other Vein Clinics, just not Seminary Road in Alexandria!!! read more

I saw the commercial for Vein Clinics Of America so many times I thought I would give them a try. I chose this one since it was closest to me. the first lady that greeted me was nice and asked me to sign some of the papers I came in with. Then another lady called me by a name that was not mine and when ii corrected her seconds later she burst out in laughter with her coworker. ( I'm like thats nice!) all the while the doctor whom I recognized from her picture on the site was there. they finally took me in to a room where I waited for about 10 minutes. and then a tech came in and asked me a few questions and took my blood pressure and asked me to wait so I can get an ultrasound done of some sort. my husband and I where waiting for another 15 minutes and decided that it didn't seem right that the doctor and her staff of 5 or so where all sitting in the front and didn't seem like they were very busy. while we were just sitting and waiting. so we decided to just leave. as i left they called me and left a message on my phone asking me to call them back. I didn't and they never called me back again(which was fine with me ). read more

Unfortunately, I had my veins down a few years ago with a good Doctor, who is no longer there. Since then I think the practice has gone down hill. I will say that upfront not all the side effects were disclosed. My legs look worse than when I started. I have "spots" as a result of the vein surgery and to get rid of them, I have to Pay out-of-pocket (hundreds of dollars) since it is considered a cosmetic procedure. I think this is very unfair and that this procedure should be part of the Surgery procedure itself. Wish I knew the real facts before as I may not have done the work b/c now I can't even show off my legs. In addition, I experienced major pain in one mo my legs. I called to get an appointment b/c this pain was interfering with my sleep --2 plus week later i get an appointment. There was no urgency or concern from the staff in getting my to see the Doctor. My mother recently started going to this office and is currently still receiving treatment. Avoid this place at any cost, it is not worth it. Not only has my mother not seen improvement results in what would now be a year or so, the customer service is terrible. Three times now my mom has had to leave work in order to make their early appointment and upon arrival been told that they do not have a technician available for weeks now and they forgot to call her. Yes they forgot to call her, they bluntly told her that they forgot. If there is anything I could speak positively about it would most likely be how relatively clean the place looks and how nice the women who treats my mom is and she is the only one because another staff member recently did not allow me to enter with my mom. Other then that I cannot speak positively about this place and would not recommend this place to anybody who is serious about fixing their problems. read more

I had the very same experience as M P. Knew the old location and doctor; she left two weeks after I began my treatment at the new location. Front room staff is lacking; I was given wrong information about what my insurance would/would not pay for. They misread my scans and continued treatment that was not working, was very painful, and left my legs worse than when I started. After one treatment, upon returning home, my husband was so alarmed he wanted to take me to the hospital. They would argue with me as to what leg was to be worked on just about each visit; I had written my appointmens down with the leg to be worked on (during my first treatments, they would alternate, one than the other) and they just kept working on the same leg. In the original location, they would ask you to walk around the halls with your stocking on after a procedure and before you left. Never asked to do this here; when I asked about wearing stockings after a procedure, they told me "if you want to." When Dr. K. left there was to be another Dr. in her place; I never saw him once. It appeared the office was being run by the girl at the front desk and a P.A. It is a bit scary; they are working with your vascular system. read more
