I was put at ease right from the start by the courteous, highly professional and compassionate staff. The preparation for the procedure involved starting two IV lines, which in my case, due to very small veins, is easier said than done. I had people sticking me in both hands at the same time, but they were super nice about it. Somehow, everyone managed not to become aggravated. I was especially impressed by Dr. Raggio, who was patient, personable and very knowledgeable. He thoroughly explained everything that he was about to do and made sure that my decision to go ahead with the procedure was well-informed. I can't say I've ever had fun during a medical procedure, but it was quick and easy, and I actually enjoyed the experience. If only all medical teams were this good! Oh! and they give you a sandwich and something to drink while in recovery; a very thoughtful gesture when you've been instructed not to eat or drink anything after midnight the night before. But for the last three visits, I was taken into a room 15-20 minutes late with no explanation. My appointment should take no more than 15-20 minutes. If I had not left 45 minutes later on my own, I don't know how long I would have sat in that room waiting for the PA. Today I had a 9:15 AM appointment. I waited 20 minutes after my appointment time to be put in a room finally at 9:35 AM, . Once in the room, I waited an additional 15 minutes for the doctor to come in. When Dr. Kaas came in, and she explained she was held up for personal reasons. I then waited for the PA to come in to finish the visit and she did not show up at all. I waited another 20 minutes and I decided to leave. I am 67 years old and have NEVER left a doctor's office in my life. I told the front desk why I left. Five minutes after leaving, I received a phone call from the PA who told me they were short staffed. She invited me to come in today at my convenience to complete the treatment, but I could not. I will not be returning to this practice. This all could have been avoided by a kind explanation at any point in time while I was in the office.

I was seen by Dr. Jay Ryan at this practice back starting in 2025. I went to him for diagnosed foot…read morepain, and he constantly said multiple issues existed. He kept pushing for injections and surgeries. These injections were costly and did not work, and even after understanding that, he kept emphasizing the injections. Finally after refusing the injections multiple times, he suggested multiple surgeries. Dr. Ryan performed one surgery on July 2025, and one again on January 2026. Every time I was seen for debilitating foot pain, he suggested surgery. After each surgery completed, my foot pain got worse and now I can't walk. Dr. Ryan also provided an inaccurate estimate of how long my recovery would be, he did a very intense surgery where a portion of my heel was removed, metal hardware was taken out, and he said I would be able to walk in 2 weeks. Several months later, even after physical therapy, I am unable to walk. I don't think I will ever be able to walk again. After one of my surgeries I was scheduled for a post op with Dr. Ryan, and upon arriving, I was told I could not be seen by him. Dr. Kaas ended up seeing me, and she did not provide a thorough exam of my incisions. She stood on one side of the room where she could not examine my entire foot, and I had multiple stitches on all sides of my feet. Dr. Kaas glanced at me and told me I looked fine. She then denied me any pain medications even though I was told to ask, and I needed them. The front office also is not communicative, and unhelpful. I've had to ask them multiple times to send in pain medication that I needed URGENTLY after my surgery, and they waited days to do so even after they told me they would send it same day. They also refused to prescribe me pain medication, they said a Dr. had to sign off on it but still made me wait - even though Dr. Ryan said he'd send it same day. I feel as though my pain levels were completely disregarded and misdiagnosed at this practice. The front office is also not clear on how the billing works, they never communicated that there would be more than one bill for one surgery, and they also charge a hefty credit card surcharge/processing fee, which I feel is already unfair, and not done at any other practice. Also, for being a medical office that specializes in foot and ankle care, their building is NOT accessible, at all. There are multiple stairs and a steep incline going into the building, no automatic doors at the office. It was extremely hard trying to maneuver an office being disabled and using mobility aids that I brought like a wheelchair, a scooter, a walker, crutches, and a cane. I don't think I will ever be able to walk again after being seen by both Dr. Ryan and Dr. Kaas. Please avoid this office at all costs.

For younger patients, he told me that he is still accepting insurance. They way it works for direct care, is that for Medicare patients you pay SignatureMD $1800 per year. Due to the crazy rules of Medicare you can't give him the money. They do. He also will bill your insurance-Medicare and secondary. With the direct care agreement, he will call you and/or text you the very same day. With the money conversation out of the way (isn't it sad that medical care is first about money, then also about care), I think that Dr. Zahalsky does a very good job. FIrst of all, I think he's smart and thinks things through. Second, he genuinely cares. Next, he will make sure that if you were to need to see a high quality specialist, he'll make sure that you obtain an appointment. There is not much more I can ask. The medical care system is broken. Everyone recognizes this. Everybody feels like a insignificant cog in a money system. Doctors and nurses all seem to be burned out. I chose to spend some money so that Dr. Z can afford to spend some time with me-I had a full one hour appointment. I was able to ask each and every one of my questions and have them answered. Paying $1800/yr is not something that everyone can afford. I know that. But if you can pony up the dough, I think it's worth it.

The initial call went smoothly, but I was a bit confused when I was told there was no way to send my previous medical records before my visit. It made me wonder how the doctor would know anything about my medical history prior to meeting. When I asked if I could email my records directly, I was told they didn't have an email system for that. I tried to fill out the basic intake questionnaires through the link they sent me, but the site crashed a few times, so I barely got any information submitted. I showed up before my 10 AM appointment, but even though I had already uploaded my insurance card, they asked me for it again. The front office staff was nice, but they looked super busy, and the lobby was packed. Seating was limited, and people were often trying to create space between themselves and others by "saving" the chair next to them, which made the VERY small lobby back up quickly. I ended up waiting for over an hour and noticed that people who arrived after me were being seen first. Eventually, a rather unusual person took my vitals, put me in a room, and said the nurse would be right with me. Then, he came back and told me to face the iPad for a "virtual" visit with the nurse. A friendly woman popped up on the screen and started asking me questions. Although I didn't like the iPad intake, the person who took my intake was very kind. After another wait, the physician came in and mentioned that she typically treats older patients but can work with younger people, too. Thanks, I guess? Even though the whole situation felt a bit off, I could tell she was doing her best given how busy things were. I didn't mind waiting because I know healthcare can be unpredictable and everyone has questions. However, I could tell I wasn't important, and my "annual exam" felt like a waste of time for both me and the staff. The doctor asked me the EXACT SAME questions the iPad nurse had already covered, and I was a bit disappointed that no one asked about my medical condition that requires blood work until I brought it up at the end. She said they might not be able to do the additional blood work during this visit but could fit it into my "follow-up" when I came back for my results next week. I found that a bit frustrating but didn't want to hold her up, as she seemed rushed and a bit scattered. Typically, a doctor or nurse will call with results, but this place tried to force me into a recheck to receive my results, which seemed scammy. She has told us on the phone our insurance was in network but the estimated fees sent to us kept saying it wasn't. Probably called a total of 5 times in one week and it was a nightmare. My husband ended up called the Friday before his Monday procedure to try to get an answer out of them and on one phone call they changed the estimated fee 3 times. We ended up cancelling and now have to find a new location but this has delayed our son getting the ear tubes he needs. I do not recommend this location!
