I was told flat out by two people that they don't care if the office policy violates HIPAA and they refused to provide a copy of my ultrasound report to me until my healthcare provider discussed them with me first. Then they said they were calling my healthcare provider to essentially reprimand her for not discussing my results with me yet after I explained they hadn't been received at the time of my last appointment and that I didn't want to bother the provider for them. The radiology office is down the street from my home. My provider is an hour away. I didn't want to pester the provider for something I'm a) entitled to BY FEDERAL LAW from the radiologist and b) I could literally swing by and pick up directly from Hammers. So not only do they feel it is appropriate to violate federal law (which was confirmed for me by the federal office that regulates HIPAA, btw), they made a 23-weeks-pregnant woman cry because they are essentially threatening my relationship with my healthcare provider by calling her and bitching her out when I could have just called and asked her myself. I didn't want to pester her or cause her any trouble, and instead they've now done just that. The emotional part aside, they apparently don't care at all about patient privacy laws in favor of their office policy. I will not ever be returning to this practice again.

Doctor Hammer personally comes in to go over the images takes and actually speaks to you in basic talk not medical terms. He has one request....no perfume or fragrances at the time of visit bc of allergies. Highly recommend the group

The 2…read morestars are for the admin on the walk in side and the technician who took x rays, they were nice.. Walk in doctor was rather abrupt, gave me meds and therapy but no diagnosis. Was told for diagnosis, to schedule appointment with regular doctor, which I did, but was booked with a PA, not doctor. 45 minutes past my appointment time to see a PA for 5 minutes who did nothing- no new tests, still no diagnosis. Someone suggested a surgeon there. Again almost 45 minutes late past my appointment time to see an older very grumpy surgeon who acted completely annoyed to answer questions . Not a professional environment in my experiences. There are several admin people when you first walk in, most not doing anything but would not check me in - said you have to do it yourself at a touch screen kiosk that no one was sanitizing after multiple people touching it. They were fast to ask for my credit card to get a copay once I checked myself in.

A brown spot on my cheek was…read morerepeatedly dismissed as acne, and filler was even added to it -- which another doctor later said should never have been done. When I switched offices, a biopsy immediately revealed invasive basal cell carcinoma. I required Mohs surgery, leaving a 5-inch scar down the middle of my cheek. Despite multiple calls and emails, Modern Dermatology sent a auto response and did not send medical records requested. This office feels more cosmetic than medical -- not where you want to go for serious dermatology issues.

I am beyond holy with Modern Derm in Westport and have been a satisfied patient for several years…read morenow. In fact my kids now go there and we all appreciate the top notch expertise and patient experience. Compared to my primary doctor (and I know that is a different healthcare category) Modern gets an A+.
