Last October I walked into a US Cellular store in Des Moines, Iowa to inquire about switching services from Verizon to US Cellular. The sales associate was very friendly and explained that not only could I save money on my plan but I could trade in my current phone and get a new one. I would pay $23.30/month but receive a promotional credit of $19.95/per month after the first three months for 2 years. I explained that I am in Mexico for several months each year and need cell service there. She told me that I can suspend my service and get a sim card there. So, I was going to save money on my current plan and get a new iPhone for under $100. Everything sounded good, so I agreed. As we were going through the paperwork, she then told me that my phone was not eligible for a trade in because it was an iPhone 6 not 6s but no worry, I would make an initial payment of approximately $100 but could sell my phone to make up for the difference. Sounded good, right? First I noticed that my cell service was MUCH less reliable "in the middle of anywhere and everywhere". I was somewhat surprised when I couldn't get service in Sioux City, Iowa and was shocked when I couldn't get service in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. I had to turn on roaming to call US Cellular to find out what was going on. The representative told me that they are continuing to expand their cell service coverage. He told me that I could use up to 512mb of data roaming for free. I was NEVER told that I can turn on voice roaming and not get additional charges. Second, after the first three months of payments, I was not seeing my $19.97 credit being applied to my account. I called US Cellular and they said they didn't see a promotion on my account. I had to go to the store to talk to my sales representative. She explained that she would have to do a little finagling to get my credit applied on my account. It took an additional 3 months and multiple phone calls before the credit started being applied. Third, I found out that I can NOT suspend my account under the current promotion unless my phone is stolen or lost. The representative I spoke with implied that I could "lie" about my phone being lost. So I will be paying monthly service for FIVE months while in Mexico without the ability to use my phone. I called US Cellular to see if I can cancel without paying any penalty. They told me that I would have to pay $419.40 for the phone and there was nothing they could do. My statement states that I am available for an early upgrade if I pay $279.60 which I was willing to pay to get out of this. So I went to see my representative at the store to straighten things out. She no longer works there! I talked with another representative who told me there was nothing she could do. Calls to US Cellular customer service and retention department were no help. I was totally mislead and I can't believe that there is NOTHING you can do to alleviate this situation with my having to pay $419.40 and report this to the Better Business Bureau and other agencies. FYI it was the U.S. Cellular located at 3801 Merle Hay Rd in Des Moines. And I will add that the sales associate could only say "sorry" and as I was leaving, I saw the store manager returning from lunch. He would not make eye contact and quickly walked by. I've been a T-Mobile customer for some time, I have my phone, my wife's phone, an Apple Watch , and two SyncUP Kids phone watches that have all worked great. Recently one of the kids lost their watch, I used the Assurant policy to order a replacement, and brought the phone into the store to get it set up. Unfortunately, one thing led to another and they accidentally applied the change to the wrong phone, and after that NEITHER of the phone/watches were usable any longer. I went back in today, and Marquiese worked with me for well over two hours, calling in "favors" from T-Mobile Support, until he got both of these watches working again and paired with my iPhone and account. If you need a phone, or support on anything from T-Mobile, I can't recommend Marquise Hunter highly enough!!!

Yesterday I spent over an hour on hold or talking with another person who was unable to solve the problem. Each month AT&T continued to do an automatic withdrawal from her checking account. Finally, I ended up the location listed above and Erica solved my problem in 10 minutes in a very professional manner. I give AT&T one star (terrible service) but I give Erica five stars. We contacted several automotive glass repair places in the DSM area and no one was willing to repair the chip. Glass Doctor said "Sure bring it on in!" We drove an hour there and they explained that because it was the original windshield in the car, which obviously was an antique, there was always the chance that the glass could shatter while repairing it. We felt confident enough in their abilities to have them go ahead and fix it, which they did with no problems! And the price was very, very reasonable! All of the employees there were very nice, very knowledgeable and very friendly. If we ever need future work done to any of our vehicle windows, we will definitely go to Glass Doctor of Des Moines!

My wife called the store this morning and spoke to a supervisor to which he told my wife that they have the piece she needs that was missing and that they would not be able to mail it to us but instead will HOLD IT at the store for us which is 3 hours away at gas being $5 a gallon. 6 hours round trip for a small metal piece that cannot be found anywhere online including Amazon and Ebay. This is customer service? I called the store and spoke to the manager again and he told me he can't mail it and didn't give me a justified reason to why he couldn't only that "he just can't" and insisted the best they can do is hold them at the store.

They weren't overly busy but there was a good number of customers scattered around the store. I was looking for some new shoes for my 4 year old so we headed straight to that area. As I was viewing the wall of children's clearance shoes (quite the selection), a store associate asked if we needed help. Since I wasn't positive my 4 yr old was wearing the correct size, I asked if he could measure her. He said he gladly would. My daughter can be shy with strangers, especially men, but she told me right away that he was really nice and could measure her foot. After measuring her foot he asked if we needed more help. Since I didn't, we let him go on to the next customer. We were able to find some nice new shoes for her for $17. What a great deal! We looked around the store some more since I'd never been there. I found the socks my husband wears at the checkout for an additional 25% off. He goes through socks fast so I grabbed a bag of those. There was a short line at the checkout but they moved rather quickly. The associate checking us out was very nice and chatted about the crazy weather and also where he was from. It was a nice, not awkward, genuine conversation. Once I paid, the associate followed me to the door to help us out. This may sound awkward at first but I had our double stroller with us. It can be difficult to maneuver with double exit doors. I was pleasantly surprised at him following to help. You just don't see that much. I really hope they continue their great customer service. I plan to come back here for the next time we need Nike items.

She said she would be with me in a moment and what felt like 10 mins later she reappeared. I explained to her what I wanted to do, which was mail a picture frame to a friend in Portland. She seemed very annoyed and was rude but she gave me some options for packaging, quoted me a price for everything, took the package and boxed it up. She came back to ring me up and the total was over $50! No where near the price she told me before. For as small as the frame was this seemed ridiculous. She explained that the size of the box-which cost $16 itself jumped the shipping up $30+ This still didnt seem right to me so I asked how much it would be through the postal service. This didnt help her attitude but she offered to refund the shipping and let me take the box next door to ship. I explained that I didnt need this huge $16 box and asked if I could return that too, she became even more impatient, said it was already packaged and she had no idea how to return it. I was on a lunch break and didnt have time to argue or ask for another employee So I picked up the box and left! This situation could have been handled much better by an employee who wasnt immediately annoyed and took the time to explain and actually help me. I was able to package and ship the item from the post office for about $10 total! Now I just have a $16 empty box, thanks for nothing Fed Ex
