***Bolt Run Venue Review Only…read more I have done this race a few times. Seeing this space is made for throwing together large gatherings, it is no surprise how efficient it all is. Morning packet pick up is painless, they have a great hype team to keep you pumped for the race, and Thunderbug running around is a lot of fun. My only qualm in the bathroom situation. As I am one that needs to get there early for packet pick up, I am there a while. That usually involves at least one bathroom trip. As there is only one bathroom open for each the women and men, the women's bathroom line is long. Maybe, if this is a possibility, could both the men and women's bathrooms be open for women to keep the lines short. Then a few (5-10) portable bathrooms be set up for the men. Or anyone else that would rather use them than wait in the women's line. 03.05.2025

The queue is always fast moving while still maintaining proper security measures. My only complaint is the ease of access for parking, which is generally expensive and more limited than other nearby venues. However this is not a complete surprise for a downtown, waterfront venue and typically solved with planning ahead. Traffic leaving downtown after events can be a nightmare, there are times I've been stranded up to an hour despite living 2 miles from city center

In addition, the Center is a multi-purpose facility that hosts over 300 events each year, including sporting events, concerts, family shows and more. We came here for a grandson's high school graduation. It was at 8:00 am, but cars lined up much earlier to get the graduates here in time and to get better seats. They were hosting several high school graduations in one day -- back to back. The acoustics were fine plus they have big screens in a couple locations to see the stage area. Seats were plastic in tiered rows. Not that comfortable, but okay. It's not very accessible nor handicapped friendly. If you have any problems walking, the aisles to the seats had lots of steps and were steep. I was surprised that they charged everyone $15 for self parking. No outside food and drink were allowed. And they make you go through metal detectors and search all bags. The concessions were over priced. And are cashless. Still it was nice to attended a happy celebration here. The school did a good job recognizing all the excelling students. And because the venue was so large, there were no restrictions on the number of family attendees.

I didn't expect to have so much fun in a ball pit... nor did I expect it to be so physically challenging! The first time I fell, I needed help to get back up, and just walking through the balls was hard! The *shore* with lounge chairs & umbrellas was a nice way to catch my breath. Due to my kids' work & college schedules, Sunday was really the best day for us to go together. I ordered our free tickets online several weeks before the multi-week event began, and 5pm 8/21 was the only slot still available for a group of 6... That's how popular this event was, sight unseen! Once I realized The Beach Tampa would be closing at 6pm on Sundays, I was concerned our time would be limited. However, worrying was not necessary. At the entrance outside, we queued up to enter precisely at our ticketed time. Then inside, we waited again as staff monitored the number of people inside the actual *beach* area for safety and enjoyment, allowing people to enter as others left. The line moved quickly at this point, but we still weren't able to go in until after 5:30. Luckily, staff had already announced to everyone that even the very last person to enter would get a minimum of 45 minutes to enjoy The Beach. I really hope The Beach returns to Tampa!

Empire of the Sun put on an incredible show, and the venue made for a great, vibrant night out overall. The Highlights (and minor caveats): * Food & Drinks: Great variety across the board. They had plenty of options for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, plus solid food choices. Prices are typical high venue rates and drink lines got a bit backed up right before the headliner, but the selection was top-tier. * Open-Air Vibe: Ever since the pavilion roof was damaged during Hurricane Milton, the venue was completely open to the night sky. Seeing Empire of the Sun directly under the stars made the theatrical production feel even more epic, though you are now completely at the mercy of Florida weather without that cover. Awesome energy, fantastic production, and a great vibe--just be prepared for standard amphitheater pricing and crowd delays on the concourse.

We had VIP EXPERIENCE tickets with meet & great/sound check tickets and PREMIER parking. We had an email from the tour organizer to be at the gate at 2:45pm. The parking staff forced us to wait 30 minutes before informing us we were at the wrong entrance! We were 10 minutes late for the sound check. After the meet & greet, we were told to wait outside for two hours until the gates opened. No shade, no chairs, no water; 100+ heat index. We went back to our car. We couldn't leave the parking lot; NO RE-ENTRY. Once the gates opened, the special VIP entrance we were promised was not opened. So we walked the quarter mile to the general entrance. We've had several VIP experiences at different venues. All have treated very well and catered to our needs. MIDFLORIDA Amphitheatre seemed to resent our presence at their facility. Between the incompetence of the parking staff, the rudeness of security, and the lack of a "VIP Experience"; we were very disappointed. A waste of time and money.

The exhibit is setup through a loading dock in the back, but it was really well done, and the setup was really appropriate for the display. If you are a Banksy fan, I recommend going before the exhibit leaves. The last day is September 27, 2026. We spent over an hour looking at the large samplings of his work. It was easy to buy tickets online and there was no issue using our QRcode to get admitted. The event was crowded but we were able to take all the time we wanted to see the exhibit and they had a nice merch selection at the end. The only thing was finding parking ahead of time. Since we went during the day, the parking for the center wasn't directly available. I ended up using the ParkWhiz app to find parking a block or two away, which worked out well. I'd definitely go to another event at this center, as it was easy to get in and out of the area and if you have more time, there are a lot of restaurants nearby and it's not far from river walk or other museum/art destinations.

The main theater is very large, and depending on where you sit, you can be quite far from the stage. Unfortunately, that can take away from the experience, especially when you're trying to watch a play or see the orchestra. Ticket prices have also increased significantly, and when you add the cost of parking at the public lot across the street, it can make for a very expensive evening. At this point, some ticket prices rival actual Broadway prices, which is pretty insane. Overall, I'd still recommend going to see a show at least once to experience the theater. It's a nice venue and there's a lot to enjoy, but I do think the rising prices and seating distance are worth considering when planning your visit.
