Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is something that everyone should try at least once in their lives. Whether you're young or old, it's something important to each person, in your own personal way. Some people do it for exercise, some people do it for the challenge, some people like puzzle solving, and others simply to have a routine. The fact that we learn something that can be applied to your own life is what gravitated me to this martial arts. Preparing your own self awareness, figuring out how to adapt to different situation, and just knowing that you control your own fate is what appealed to me. That is what Coach Jeff promotes, the dynamic approach to this martial arts, that no one answer will be absolute, and to ultimately be the best version of yourself. Currently my youngest son attends classes, and gives him the lessons of life to be more mature, and be responsible for others. Little kids can get nervous to getting hurt, it's new, it's physical. But after a few classes, he understand it's all a game for now, his teammates challenge him, but not try to hurt him. It's fun to do, and also rewarding for the mind and body. There are also other alternative classes under the monthly membership plans, such as Thai Kickboxing, Eskrima, Physical wellbeing classes for the older groups, and wrestling for all ages. I recommend this class if you are someone that wants something outside the box, challenging, fun, and want a coach/team that inspires you to do better. Not a McDojo, where you are forced to dress a certain way, or do some repetitive dance like move for protection. This is actual everyday application that you can use for self defense.

The owners, professors, and coaches have cultivated a superb gym culture. This gym is safe, friendly, and supportive. The facility is modern and clean, and they've invested in a foam block subfloor beneath the mats for softer landings. As far as I know, this is the only gym in the area that offers women-only classes four times per week and a bi-monthly community open mat for gentlemen 40 years and older. My kids train here after school 4-5 days a week, and they love it. The kids' professors and coaches are experienced and amazing teachers. I'm especially thankful for the young coaches who were so patient and kind to my boys when they were hesitant and shy after first starting. And my pocketbook is especially thankful for the discounted rates for additional family members. If you're looking for a place where the whole family can train, grow, and feel welcome, I can't recommend Teragi highly enough.

I've been to places where it seemed salesy or lacking authenticity. Teragi Academy is a place where they genuinely practice and instill jiu jitsu and its culture of honor and regard of others. The promotion of belts is carried out quarterly and only awarded based on merit. This is also something I greatly appreciate because I know many establishments that give out promotions for no reason at all. Since day one, the professors and coaches of this gym have been patient and meticulous in teaching techniques to the kids. Teragi has been instrumental in providing confidence as well as self awareness for my son. I've seen many of the other kids mature in their own ways for the past 2 years. It's always a wonder to see everyone come up together. For myself and my family, we seen so much growth and discipline in our boy. There's a comfort in knowing that our child is not left helpless and able to stand up himself as well as for others. I've been watching in the sidelines, two to three times a week, for the last 2 years. This is a program that provides a worthwhile experience. The benefit and journey is well worth the investment for anyone, young or old.

But we spent alittle over $300 there on everything! There is a $35 or $45 entrance fee depending on when you come. It's just to come inside the lagoon. If you want the obstacle course it's an additional $10 per person for 55 mins (super short). If you want to kayak, use the aqua bike or use the paddleboard it's an additional $10 per equipment/item. There is a kiddie area for small and young children. They DO NOT allow outside food or drinks except water! There is a small shop that sells misc. items, snacks & drinks (overpriced). They also had a foodtruck inside that was expensive and the meals didn't come with drinks. They do have plenty of staff and lifeguards there. The entrance fee should of been $15-20. The obstacle course atleast 90-120 mins instead of the 55 mins. Wish the foodtruck came with drinks and was a bigger portion.

An unexpected highlight for us was catching skytyping that was announcing Olivia Rodrigo's new album, "you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love," which is scheduled for release on June 12, 2026. We were craning our necks for a cool 20 minutes trying to figure out what the message meant and I didn't figure it out until looking it up on Reddit when I got home. Not exactly standard park entertainment, but definitely memorable. Also worth noting, right across the street we came across a full Zumba class happening in a small private studio. Apparently it runs every Thursday evening with a $7.00 cover. If you're into that kind of thing, it could be a fun way to switch things up. All in all, Pearson Park knocked it out of the (local) park. It was interesting enough for me to consider adding it to my future routine and will absolutely be coming back.

Fullerton just gained a great asset. This gym demonstrates excellence in many ways. They have a great equipment in an equally great facility, but what stands out most about Rounders MMA is the teachers and staff. This place gives off more than just a gym vibe, but a place of community. Everyone is committed to each other and pushing them to their do their best. I also like how this place is able to accommodate children and adults so well of different levels of practice in MMA. I see children training here as well as athletes going on to professional fighting. I really enjoy their workout and feel like a push myself hard when I take their classes! This gym is amazing. The coaches are FRIENDLY and will work with you at any level, whether you are beginning intermediate or advanced. Another plus about this gym is that it offers boxing, kickboxing, Brazilian jui-jitsu. Personally for me that's a big deal because it's hard to find in the OC area. The pricing is more than fair and the kids can go as often as they like, allowing them to progress at their own pace and also work with the parents' schedules. One of the coaches has even fought in the UFC, which makes NOCMA even more 10/10 legit. They discipline the kids, not allowing them to get away with horseplay, while also supporting them and building on their confidence. There are always more than enough instructors for each class, ensuring the kids are always safe and closely supervised. I would recommend North Orange County Martial Arts to any parent searching the perfect studio to introduce their children to MMA.

My family have been coming to Mythic for over a year now. Previously to that, we took classes…read moreunder the guidance of Black Belt Jeff Nolasco in a different location before he started his own academy. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is something that everyone should try at least once in their lives. Whether you're young or old, it's something important to each person, in your own personal way. Some people do it for exercise, some people do it for the challenge, some people like puzzle solving, and others simply to have a routine. The fact that we learn something that can be applied to your own life is what gravitated me to this martial arts. Preparing your own self awareness, figuring out how to adapt to different situation, and just knowing that you control your own fate is what appealed to me. That is what Coach Jeff promotes, the dynamic approach to this martial arts, that no one answer will be absolute, and to ultimately be the best version of yourself. Currently my youngest son attends classes, and gives him the lessons of life to be more mature, and be responsible for others. Little kids can get nervous to getting hurt, it's new, it's physical. But after a few classes, he understand it's all a game for now, his teammates challenge him, but not try to hurt him. It's fun to do, and also rewarding for the mind and body. There are also other alternative classes under the monthly membership plans, such as Thai Kickboxing, Eskrima, Physical wellbeing classes for the older groups, and wrestling for all ages. I recommend this class if you are someone that wants something outside the box, challenging, fun, and want a coach/team that inspires you to do better. Not a McDojo, where you are forced to dress a certain way, or do some repetitive dance like move for protection. This is actual everyday application that you can use for self defense.
