Vintage watch was shipped to me a week ago, noticed the Ebay tape had been broken and the box was beat up so recorded opening it and inside was a dog leash... Reached out to the seller and received a CERTIFIED USPS letter requesting me to take "Item/s and mailing container, the wrapping and original packaging to a Post Office for inspection" if not completed within 20 days the claim would be denied. Ms.Incompetence herself ( Ms.Lagard) proceeded to ask me every question possible to get me to go away, unfortunately for her I had come prepared, had the letter, had the original box, had video timestamped proof of the receipt of the package with the item missing and what was her brilliant answer to "help" me... Was to tell me the sender has to bring this in. I explained the USPS letter did not corroborate that and she told me to "ship the box back to New Hampshire for the sender to take it in" and proceeded to ask me to leave. For the record I went to a USPS nearby and that location immediately took care of it. I know USPS is under staffed and overwhelmed constantly but seeing it in its current state is just plain sad. Avoid this location at all costs. It's literally run by an incompetent imbecile.

Not helpful to customers at all. The entire Chicago USPS is God awful and no supervisors or managers se to care either. I've seen far worse post offices than this. Everyone complaining of employees giving an attitude…read moreperhaps need to understand these clerks aren't the complaints department for whatever you have going on. Ask to speak with a supervisor if you have delivery issues etc. It would be much better if some of the customers wouldn't stand in line trying to mail out a single first class envelope and waiting to buy a stamp just for that one envelope. Buy a book of stamps and you will save everyone else's time including your own. It would be much better if this post office had a caller window for people picking up packages open during a certain time of day like 10am or something then it would be easier to pick up packages like it was many years ago. But look at all other retail industries where everything is being automated or self serve so it doesn't surprise me that there is only one window or 2 at most open to help you. Sometimes putting yourself in the shoes of the clerk is all it takes and try seeing it from their perspective. It's not easy to have a postal job. Postal work isn't like a simple 9 to 5 job specially the ones going on route. The biggest problem is there is no parking lot for the customers and its either paying the over priced street metered parking or risking getting a ticket and when the lines are long, like waiting for 15 to 20 minutes in line for people to get their passports done specially if you know how to fill everything out then maybe do it yourselves instead of wa ting everyone doing it for you. Then that takes away time and sometimes its not worth paying overpriced meter parking or risking a ticket for waiting in long line to pick up package specially some rude customers with their kids screaming and jumping around like its a playground. The you all expect the clerks to be all smiling when you wouldn't be smiling either if you had to work in this kind of environment.

But the workers had such an attitude. One of them who wander around told me to go to the next open window but when I got there then the worker gave me attitude while saying I didn't call you up. Then the wandering worker said well she can wait while you get set up. The way they didn't even seem to like each other and have to work together was not making it seem like a safe space. Luckily, this isn't my common post office that I would go to and I'm so thankful for that because the set up is so weird too like you can't even see the employee in the window to know. It's also incredibly dirty inside and there was a homeless person or something asking for money right when you walk in. Didn't feel safe, didn't feel any great customer service, extremely long wait. Never again.

I only found out recently, as I had gone into the Starbucks to dispose of a coffee cup from another, nearby Starbucks (true story). The customer standing in line was able to make use of one of the post office boxes mounted on the wall, so I catapulted right to the front. Despite the fact that there was only one postal worker at the counter, I was able to get my package mailed quickly and efficiently. We're the little section of Ravenswood that's Uptown due to a location just east of the UPN Metra. Uptown has its challenges, but like many places in Chicago there's more than meets the eye. Edgewater, which is the newest of Chicago's 77 community areas, was created out of Uptown in 1980 so was once much larger. Uptown was once even more an entertainment hub than it is today. Perhaps one of the coolest bits of history related to Uptown is that it was the home of Essanay Studios, which was owned by Charlie Chaplin during his brief stint in Chicago in the early 20th century. Today there's the Aragon and Riviera as the major entertainment attractions, with the Green Mill down the block from both. The Uptown Theatre, a Balaban and Katz masterpiece, has been sitting quietly for decades until it can finally undergo repair (I truly hope this happens). Uptown Art Week is also a nice celebration of the neighborhood and it's great fun to walk along Broadway to watch folks working en plein air. There's also the Clifton Avenue Street Art Gallery with some interesting and beautiful works celebrating the area, or whatever the artist was moved to create. Downstate Donuts is in Uptown along Wilson and you need to stop here. If you've heard of them, you'll know that they are the place that makes donuts out of potatoes. I'm not exactly sure how it works but whatever it is, it's deeeeeelicious. They're super creative with their flavors; I have to say that the miso honey butter is my favorite flavor. Terrace (once called Hearthstone & Terrace) is a cool shop a few blocks west on Wilson. They specialize in home furnishings and also have a large collection of plants (houseplants and otherwise). The owners are cool as are the other employees. I've bought some lovely plants here and some great photo frames. Uptown is pretty cool and I thought that even before I realized we actually live within the boundaries of the neighborhood. You'll find something to do or somewhere to shop if you visit.
