I've been going to this location for years and I like it very much. I have no idea what locations the other reviewers are comparing it with; I usually have a longer wait at the official USPS locations in Alexandria and DC. It's true that it is a small business with limited hours, and there is usually only one clerk, so if multiple customers show up (lunchtime is bad), the line backs up. And once they didn't open on time, I assume because the clerk was late. (edit - currently their weekday hours are 10am to 5:30pm, not 9:30 to 5:30pm). But I always get a smile from the clerks -- they never ignore me -- and they give me whatever rate I ask for; I have never encountered any pressure to ship things at a higher rate. If I ask for USPS boxes, they give them to me, unless they've run out of the size I want (if you want a lot of flat rate boxes you should go to a USPS location, although they often run out too). Bottom line: I've used this location many times over the past few years, I like it a lot, and I haven't experienced the problems the other reviewers describe. I wouldn't drive out of my way to go here, but only because parking in the area is a pain.

Super convenient. Not sure if this is a fully blown post office but they have the scanners so it's legit when they take packages.

We did this at the suggestion of an employee at the other location and the app stated that this location would have the item in the amount we needed. We make the drive here and we come in and head the direction to the department we needed. We get there, and they do not have the quantities their inventory is depicting online. I think, overall, Michaels needs to do a thorough inventory or maybe look into some kind of theft inside. We bought all of the item that we were looking for, but when it came to wanting another selection of an item, it was hard to find something complimentary. And also in stock. We didn't find a complete set of any given jars they had on the shelves, but we grabbed what they had. One of the packages was open and was missing a glass. When we took it to the register to pay we asked about it, with the missing piece to the set of six, they gave us a discount on that item. I just want to reiterate, get your inventory in check.

You know that feeling when you walk into a store and feel like you are a burden to the staff? Like you aren't wanted there and/or are a nuisance? Well, that is the feeling I had from the very moment I stepped in. And, let me tell you - there are a number of similar reviews from other customers experiencing the same thing. So, the owner needs to learn about customer service, then hire the right folks and train them properly. I'm sure the owner will post a response that defends the awful staff and makes silly excuses- so I'm waiting for that :) I will never spend a penny here and would not recommend wasting any time here. Unless, of course, you love the hype of this place and want to get cute little photos to post on social media. Then, maybe this is your place!

The staff were extremely helpful with just about every customer, including my friend. The store is very clean and neat and we definitely benefited from them being open later in the evening.

So I couldn't wait to visit Penny Post when I was in town on business recently. This little place is tiny-but-mighty, packed full of allll the planner-related things you could possibly need. From washi tape to notebooks, from fancy paperclips to customized post-its, they had everything I could possibly ever want (and more). The staff is really helpful, too. Perhaps noticing the blank stare/look of overwhelm on my face, a kind employee asked if she could help me find anything. Anything? I had found everything! Luckily, I was doing carry-on only this trip, so only left with a handful of pens and a roll (okay, two rolls) of lovely floral-printed washi tape. If you're into planning, journaling, fancy pens, fountain pens, stickers, or just need a creative greeting card, Penny Post is the place. A quick note about parking: it's sort of a nightmare! I drove around for 20 minutes before I found a spot. But it was worth the hunt.

Custom framing is costly, but I have found prices here to be better than at other businesses. The quality is excellent, with skilled workmanship and tasteful materials. Advice about color and style are always good, and offered in a sensitive way. Really, the framer knows more about framing than I do, but he listens patiently to my ideas and asks the right questions about where the piece will go. For certain pieces I have chosen framing materials and mats from the selection; for others, I have just let the framer make recommendations. Either way, I end up happy. Sometimes I want a project that will last forever, with archival quality materials. All About Frames can meet these standards, and it pays to have a deliberate discussion. Other services offered: some art is for sale, and this business also installs projects. I have not taken advantage of these services.
