It was late and I understand how it feels to be close to the end of shift and having customers in your face. Who hasn't been there? I had some hiccups with delivery of an item I needed to put inside a care package to ship to my family member. I'm writing on the box as she's closing up and she comes up and says "We're closed." I ask if I would still be able to send my package.. "Yea but you need to write a little bit faster." What? Since when am I, as the customer, on your time? I was raised right so I bit my tongue on that one. But I think she needs a major reality check. You can't say whatever you want to just anybody. It'll come back to bite you eventually. I didn't check you but somebody won't be so nice. On top of that comment she made, she upset one other customer before me as well. All in the span of 10 minutes. I'm not sure what they argued about but she went back and forth with her which of course is highly unprofessional and totally uncalled for. I give two stars because ultimately my package was sent that day.

This is a very tiny Post Office, smallest I've ever set foot in. When I went to mail a package, there was only one postal worker so the line was long. I spent thirty minutes total in line. There was no real way to stay socially distanced from the five other customers, so if you prefer to be in a bigger ventilated room with proper distancing, I would recommend going to another postal location. They do have collection boxes outside for drop off mail. They do not offer pass port services here. They also have the standard sized card board boxes available here so you can take a box home with you, pack it and bring it back for shipment. They also accept international shipping, I'd recommend filling out the specific forms prior to avoid spending longer in the post office. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their job, I will be back for my future post office needs.

I would like to report an ongoing safety concern at the post office on Battlefield Road near the…read moreWalmart. I sell online and often need to drop off packages in the morning before going to work, using the self-service kiosk. On several occasions, I have had to leave without dropping off my packages because there was a homeless individual sleeping or standing in the lobby. This has made me feel unsafe, especially during early morning hours when there are no employees present. I understand that this can be a difficult situation, but something needs to be done to ensure customer safety. At a minimum, having police or security do periodic drive-bys or checks would help. Customers should not have to feel afraid simply dropping off a package, especially when many of us rely on early-morning access due to work schedules.

This made no sense to me so I submitted an edit of US Postal Service - South Norfolk. My edit was rejected so here we are. This post office serves zip code 22324 in the SoNo section of Chesapeake, Virginia. It is small but a full-service post office that offers all the services one expects from a post office. This postal location does not have its own public parking lot but if you are unable to find available street parking there is a large parking lot for South Norfolk Christian Church nearby. There is always plenty of available parking in the church lot. I have parked there many times and have never had an issue. Staff here is friendly and helpful. I appreciate the convenient location and the service they provide. Despite its small size they are able to handle all my postal needs.

I was only missing a front and back copy of my ID and birth certificate for the passport process and instead of offering to make me a copy that would take less than 5 minutes as i'm sure the postal office has a photo copy machine to do so I was told at 12:35pm 10 minutes early to my scheduled appt time that was for 12:45 pm that if I could go run to UPS store that was 10 minutes up the street and make a copy and be back by my 12:45 pm appt time that she would do my appt still. I don't know if she lacked sense as well but that wasn't feasible. she then followed it by "it says it on the paper right there" which wasn't necessary as again I wasn't holding anyone up the postal office was empty. she also referred me to the circuit court which again I felt she just kept adding to my frustration. I can accept the full responsibility for not obtaining a copy but I can't accept the blatant disrespect followed behind it. I would NEVER send anyone here to deal with her lack of human decency.
