This location is smaller and convenient for mailing packages and letters but the customer service needs improvement in my opinion. The employee working has helped me a few different times I have been in and I dread coming here because of the lack of care and positive experience. I am a P.O. Box customer at this post office and have been for quite a few years. My most recent renewal was in September 2019, and a box 3"x5.5" was only $118 for 12 months. The price has gone up slightly over the years, but nothing too crazy. Some people may scoff at having a P.O. Box, but there are so many positive things about having one. 1) No one ever steals my mail or packages, 2) I never have to worry about changing my address if I move, and 3) It is convenient for travel. I chose this specific location for my P.O. Box because I was a student when I first got it. However, it is still very convenient even after graduating. I only visit the office a few times a year--typically to pick up an oversized package or mail Christmas cards. I know many people would rank the post office right up there with the DMV as "places I'd rather not be." I actually enjoy when I have business at the post office. Probably because all of my post office experiences at this location have been easy! The employees are always pleasant and helpful--even when I have dumb questions like "are cuter stamps available." This is my favorite little post office in Reno and it is very conveniently located for anyone that works at UNR or nearby. It is so small that it doesn't even have a package drop drawer but they always keep an area of counter open for people just dropping off pre-paid packages and the people working always serve you with a smile. Due to the time of year, there is always a line and they only allow 3 people in the main area but there is space to line up along the P.O. box portion of the building so no one has to stand in the cold. And if you have a package to just drop off, you don't need to stand in line, just make sure to distance yourself from others when dropping it at the middle counter space. I've never had a package fail to be scanned in and start tracking from this location. 5 stars! read more

I have been using this post office for several years as a UNR student but today will certainly be my last after how I was rudely treated by Kim specifically. She had a poor attitude because I was trying to understand why my package was not delivered to the P.O. box i've been using for the past 3 years as a student at the university. She wasn't helpful at all and did not provide any valuable information when I continuously asked where my package could have been. And when I attempted to confirm whether or not my package was received by Kim, her attitude got even worse. I am extremely disappointed at the service and treatment I received for an inconvenience that was caused by her. I'd rather use the post office on Sierra street than this place. At least there I know i can receive honest, genuine concern and help for situations. read more

The post office is usually a place that I stick in the same category as the DMV. So, I was pleasantly surprised when I visited the post office today and the lady was extra helpful and they were properly staffed with two people (room for 3 max). This has been my favorite post office to go to since I was a student at the university. The location is pretty convenient for students and non-students alike: its walking distance from the campus shuttle stop and has an accessible parking lot to quickly get in and out. The ladies who work here are super friendly. Other post offices I've been to tend to rush you and aren't very helpful; not the case with these ladies. They're very patient with everyone, and are happy to explain your postage options if you're not too familiar with the process. I once had to ship a bunch of stuff to a friend living in DC, came in with everything in a box, and Karen helped me for about 20 minutes helping pack everything and get the right postage. Her patience and friendliness made the whole process much smoother, and the package arrived with no problems! Last thing, love how easy it is just to come in and grab a flat rate envelope or bubble wrapped package, makes it easier than tracking one down. I'll always come to this USPS location. read more

Ripoff artists! I sent a package via 1st class - clearly labeled as such as I paid for my shipping label using an online tool and the label was quite large. A small part of priority packaging was showing, but the label was on the front and it was clear what was paid for and therefore how the package should be handled. My recipient received notice from the post office for postage due. Despite the US Postal Service sending the parcel as first class mail, this post office saw part of the priority label and demanded that postage was due even though it was not handled as a priority package. Basically, they received it as first class mail and then demanded more money once it was in their posession. They don't answer their phone and because they are hundreds of miles away there is nothing I can do to rectify the situation. I would not trust this office at all. Either they are complete idiots or they wanted to rip off their customer. Terrible service! read more

The location is incredibly convenient for college students, and even when busy, the wait is never long due to the staff working efficiently. It's a Post Office...what do you want me to say about it? I went to the PO on the UNR Campus because it was April 14th (the day before tax day) I thought it might be more secret and less crowded than other Post Offices... There was a line of about 7 people when I walked in, and only one of three windows open. On April 14th? Really? However, the one person working was efficient without being short with the person he was helping, and the line moved very quickly. When it was my turn, I stepped up with a certified mail and a registered mail form filled out because I can never remember which is which, and he educated me quickly with a smile. read more

Didn't know this post office existed! It's so handy - right down the street from my house and easy parking. It's a smaller office but still has all the priority boxes and stuff! Absolutely awful service for P.O. Box customers. Packages will literally be days late, despite arriving to the Post office on time because of how long it takes to process. It can range from an extra day to four if you're unlucky enough to have your order delivered on a Thursday night or Friday. I ordered something that was TIME SENSITIVE and USPS will not deliver it to my door. I have to have a P.O. Box and I couldn't get my package. This isn't a one-time problem either. This is by far the FRIENDLIEST post office I have ever been to... in Nevada and California! Karen, who is usually there early mornings is super nice. I wish all postal workers are like her. Even when there is a line, she is still smiling! She doesn't rush you, but at the same time she is also efficient. Most postal workers just want to get you the heck out of there so they don't even waste time smiling or greeting you. The man that works behind the counter is also nice. I can't remember his name but I think he'a Filipino. I needed a new key to my house mail box and he gave me directions to the Stardust/Washington location. read more

This may be the best post office ever. Friendly folks, fast service, minimal wait times. I knocked off one star because they don't have a great selection of postage products and what they do have is kind of crammed in the corner and hard to look through, but otherwise this is a really nice shop. read more
