Small inside and the building is old - but it's got a drop box for packages around back you can use and is probably going to be my new go-to for mailing packages in the area as the Princess Anne location is very crowded with rude staff!

It's located behind the smart mouth brewery and apartment buildings with very little traffic flow. There is probably close to 20 spots in the parking lot. Needless to say I was in and out in about 45 seconds. They are enforcing all social distance guidelines and have notices on the door to inform customers. They have markers lined up spaced 6 feet apart so everyone knows where to stand. They installed plexiglass between the employee and you so there is no chance of contact.

I specifically want to say how Cody and Kamal expressed the utmost patience with Mr. Grinch, who visited them today to complain from person to person about his mail. After Cody, who was working the counter expressed that there was a delay in delivering his mail due to being shortstaffed that was not good enough for Mr. Grinch. This person proceeded to ask for a superior once Kamal came out, Mr. Grinch proceeded to ream him for being shortstaffed and blaming him for not hiring more people. He mentioned that he wanted to make a formal complaint. Kamal said you're welcome to do so, then Mr. Grinch said well, can I borrow a pin and paper lol? He asked Kamal his name, Kamal spelled it for him. He asked Kamal his last name, and Kamal said to him I don't feel that's necessary to give you my last name. He questioned Kamal and said why, and Kamal emphasized, I am the only person here with that name. If you are writing about me, then they will know who I am. Mr. Grinch emphasized that the complaint was going to be specifically about Kamal the supervisor on duty who has no control over physically delivering his mail. So my review is just to say, I received the upmost polite and pleasant service today from the post office. I know it is very common for people to get frustrated with USPS. However, everyone has a job to do and the people inside of the post office that I witnessed today are trying to do that. For the customers visiting the post office, especially right now during the holidays, don't be difficult. Don't go, and don't be difficult, you never know what someone is going through. Don't be mean, don't be difficult or just don't go. There is no custom form out so I join the line waiting to speak with someone. At 4 52 I spoke with the male clerk and he gave me the form and said I have 8 minutes to fill it outs I said fine, I will be done in too because I'm a fast writer. I completed the sender information and was about to write on the receiver line and I heard "we can't send international packages, why didn't she come early" I looked around and stated the office closes at 5 and I've been here 24 minutes to be exact. She implied that the policy changed and customs forms can't be filled out after 4 45 pm . The male clerk asked when was this implemented, she said last week and he said he was not aware for such information. I was on the phone with my sister who works at USPS in Queens, NY and she said the company doesn't have a policy like that. I repeated what she said to the male clerk and he asked if she is a clerk or she works in the back. Why should it matter? I said she is a clerk for 7 years. The female clerk starts to mumble and utter it is there policy and she can't assist. I could see the awkwardness on his face and he walked away. The 2nd female clerk shouted out "tell her to come back we not doing international". Please take in to account the officer closes at 5pm. Customers will need to drive in back to enter. The lot is huge and signage is over the door. Of note this is the only passport service on the Southside. Appointments are highly recommended, but when slow they will take walk-in. Customers can compete forms online or in person. Check or debit card appear to be the only two forms of payment. Cash was not discussed however. There is plenty of seating as the area is spacious. Two agents were working and luckily caught at a slow weekday. The wait was short, the process easy and the customer service exceptional. My daughter who is 18 will have her passport in around six weeks. She also opted for a second form of ID the passport card. It's the size of a drivers license. It's somewhat newer. You can bring your own photo of official size, or opt for the agent to take. If picky bring your own, the photo for my daughter came out extremely light. My experiences with the post office have been average to weak, so this is a huge bump in confidence for the U.S. Postal Service. Also of mention for those that need documentation they can obtain online through Vital Check. I requested a Yelp edit to add passport services. Full 5 stars.

From that location, it is about 8 miles from the North Carolina border. When you look at the outside of the place, it looks dated. Although it looks dated, it's not as noticeable as such inside. This post office is small and doesn't have a drive through. Parking is also fairly limited. However, due to the location of the post office, it's usually not that busy. They do close for a lunch break during the day. I can get in and out of here faster than other post offices in the city (such as at the Courthouse or Lynnhaven Pkwy). On this most recent visit, I came in to have a package delivered. After talking with the representative there, she was able to help me pick the best option for shipping. Since I was the only one in there, it was a very personable experience that is rare to find anywhere these days. Overall, this is a nice post office to come to if you don't want to have to worry about lines and waits. Sure, the drive may be a little while for some, but you may wait longer at other post office locations than it is to drive back and forth to this post office. If you are down in the southern part of Virginia Beach and need to go to a post office, this is your place to go.

I can never remember to buy packing tape for my house, but they are always happy to tape up my packages for me when I drop them off even when I'm using a prepaid shipping label. The shopping center is so convenient. I can always knock out at least one other errand (usually grocery shopping at Fresh Market) when I have to take my packages. Or I can just use this errand as an excuse to visit Starbucks, Gelati Celesti, or CFA across the street. Their COVID practices are great. I've been in about 3x since the pandemic started. Social distancing is enforced and masks are worn by customers and staff.
