Complete Lack of Accountability and Oversight This USPS location shows a disturbing failure of accountability, transparency, and internal oversight. A letter carrier fraudulently signed for THREE insured packages requiring signature confirmation, then removed those packages from the delivery system and kept them at their private residence for over a month while the recipient was overseas. During this period, USPS treated the packages as lost, forcing the sender, the paying customer, to file insurance claims due to USPS's failure to deliver or account for them. One month later, after claims were filed, the same carrier suddenly delivered the packages. No credible explanation. No documentation. No consequences. USPS Headquarters in Washington, DC is aware. The USPS Postal Inspector is aware. Local management is aware. The paying customer received NOTHING, no explanation, no accountability, no resolution, only the response that "due to privacy, USPS cannot disclose what actions were taken." Let that sink in. How is this acceptable? Forged signatures on insured mail, Packages removed from USPS custody Stored privately for weeks, Financial loss and insurance claims triggered, Zero visible disciplinary action This is not a mistake. This is a systemic breakdown of oversight. The Wilmington USPS facility at 1500 Lancaster Ave urgently requires a full audit of: Signature confirmation procedures Carrier accountability Claims handling Supervisory oversight If this can happen three times to one customer, it can happen to anyone. Today I noticed our USPS carrier parked in front of one of my 2 properties. One property is driveway to one address which are storage garages and other is to I triplex I live in and rent out. The city of Wilmington Delaware deamed the one parking spot in front of the building to be a hazardous parking spot. This was due to you cannot see the road when backing out into union street. The city put up three signs stating NO PARKING AT ANYTIME, painted the curb yellow and also painted the street yellow.. THE USPS carrier parked right up in that spot 1 inch from driveway. I explained to the carrier nobody is allowed to park in that area because it's a hazardous spot to my tenants. The carrier told me SHE IS THE USPS POST OFFICE SHE CAN PARK WHERE EVER SHE WANTS TOO. I explained to her that was not true and it makes it almost impossible to back out without seeing oncoming traffic. She brushed me off as is I was a piece of SH**..I have never had an issues with the post office but if this is how you train your employees this is incorrect. This incident took place 1/102023 at 4:15pm on North Union Street the 700 block even side. The USPS carrier was a short haired African American woman. I will also ad that we had 2 open spots on our side and 4 across street at the time I spoke with her. SHE just didn't care. read more

My package was delivered on 10/28/2023 and was not left because no one was home and they could not leave the package without a signature. They left a form 3849 and I let them know we we both home maybe someone could knock a little harder. I requested that they deliver it on the 30th and this is 11/1/2023 and not delivered yet. I have been calling their phone number for over a half hour and no one is answering why have a number if you won't answer it? 1 star is not low enough. read more

You've heard of The Land of Misfit Toys from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, right? This postal location is The Land of Misfit Postal Employees. I'm convinced that this location is where all the incompetent, lazy and apathetic postal employees throughout New Castle County are sent. So that there are no bad apples in all the locations, they place all the bad ones at this location. I've watched many many customers bow down to the postal clerks, for fear their mail and packages will be held hostage. The supervisor with the hijab actually said to me, "Nobody cares!" when I told her I'd be reporting her. On a separate occasion, she called the police on me when I asked her for her name. I was not going to visit this Post office because of the reviews but I did and the gentleman with the initial, SB told me if my package was not delivered on the next day I could come back and get my money refunded. Well, the mail was not delivered on time and he refunded my money back with no problem and a smile. So I promise him I would give him a five on this review because he so, Graciously refund my money. Postal service to 19805 is horrible. I live in 19803 but have family in 19805. Everything I have ordered delivered to them has been lost, arrived very late or went to wrong address. Some companies have had to send the same package out 3 times before it has been delivered. Having Prime doesn't help. Can take 4 or 5 days to get something delivered even after Amazon tries to figure out what happened. So far I have file 2 complains with the USPS and on my way to filing a third. Something is very wrong there. read more

My deliveries are never consistent with mail or packages. Impossible to find missing mail or a worker with the right course of action.

If possible to give no stars I would. Incompetent is synonymous with this Post Office...with incompetent also add rude. I try to avoid this location as much as possible but sometimes there is no option. If you have to go there expect to wait no less than 20 minutes in average,even when not busy. Workers disappear behind the scenes when going back there...it is as though they are lost in the abyss. Ask to talk to the manager...forget that..the manager stays in the "behind the scenes" office,never to show his/her face. If you can avoid this place,please do. Go to Greenville location...a whole other experience...they are worth the 5 stars...Lancaster Avenue does not even deserve the one star. read more

Packages routinely spend up to a week here and never move occasionally gets "lost" here. I will never use usps again. Company is a sham

3 of my packages are now missing from this location within the past week. It's nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone. I actually visited the office and was told there is an "emergency situation" happening with 0 specifics. USPS's general number is also of no help so far. I've had people working on my case, but have received 0 call backs like stated. I'm wondering who's getting my packages. I will use fedex or ups forever after this experience and unfortunate customer service. read more

Worst service I have ever gotten. Spent 24 hours going between the USPS Hotline to this post office. The managers at this post office refused to do anything I needed them to do. I will be calling the district office on Monday. This does not include other incidents with this post office. First off, to just stop delivering mail without notice to an entire apartment complex when only a few mail boxes are damaged when people were expecting life saving medications... that's an issue. It's also an issue when people are dependent on the post office for their income checks. They also refused to work with me when an outgoing post office entered my zip code wrong on a tracking number. I was trying to get my mail to have directions for it so I will get it due to a high theft rate and I couldn't do it. It was toward the end of their shifts and they all but said F*** you, I'm not doing my job. I hope the district launches an investigation into this office, and either fires some folks or transfers them out. No offense, but that kind of attitude in this area gets a lot of people murdered, and although they are a**es, I don't want to see them hurt. read more

Less than reputable. I have not received mail for almost 3 weeks. Only once in those 3 weeks and I wound up with two different neighbors mail. It wasn't even mine. I never received my unemployment papers. And thanks to that, I missed out on 2 weeks of unemployment that I am not able to back track, I had documents from my bank accounts that were sent to me and verified that were sent to me and never received. I even have the informed mail delivery as to what is coming in the mail on what days, and I still don't receive it. I am going to reach out to my lawyer and see what can be done about this. I get the Covid-19 pandemic has people running more slowly, which is expected, but not receiving any mail for 3 weeks is ridiculous. Especially when there is important documents And paper work that deals with peoples livelihood. And states that it should be here, but never shows. If I could rate this negative 5 stars I would. This needs to be fixed. This USPS location should be held responsible for losing my mail. I even talked to them and they said they would get back to me and investigate what is going on. I have two claims out against them. And I NEVER received any answers. Nobody knows what happened to my Mail. THAT IS DISHEARTENING. I will be doing the review on the BBB website next. read more

I have went through having terrible sometimes costly delivery service from the 19805 area. They are constantly either not delivering our mail to the correct address or not delivering at all. Talking to store/office clerks or representative at the Lancaster Ave office is sometimes hostile and unattentive. I did talk recently to a manager there whom at first seemed would be an answer to the problem but on the very next delivery had fallen into the unaffective state of this branch. I am considering past trying to contact some usps officials on this matter getting a petition together for state government to address this problem as i have heard similar complaints from many others in this 19805 area. read more

I hate this place and their lackadaisical attitude. My package was supposedly delivered on 7/25/19 and it was not. I called the post office the next morning and was told that it was on the truck and would be delivered on 7/26. It was not. I then go to the Post Office on 7/27 and they don't have my package and they will call me on Monday. Up until this point I was receiving my mail consistently. Suddenly, I order designer glasses and my package is missing. I also received no mail Friday as I was supposed to. This is the second time a pair of glasses have gone missing. I am filing a police report this time. I will have all packages sent to my workplace. I just feel that my package was taken, as this just doesn't add up. One star is too much to even give them. read more
