You won't have to fight for parking space. As far as Costco goes, it's in walking distance, but because you usually buy in large quantities your probably won't want to ride the trax. This is the location where you would catch the front runner going either North or South. Area was clean, and wait time was less than 10 minutes. Not knowing the time schedule we didn't have to wait long because on weekends the trax only runs every half hour. This is conference weekend, and hardly anyone was on the train, which made for a nice comfortable ride into town.

Just a few random tidbits that you might find useful if you're riding TRAX (Salt Lake's light rail…read moretransit system) and you're stopping or passing through Midvale. There are two Midvale Stations. This is the northern one, and lets you off pretty much at 7200 S. It's the more popular of the two for amenities, so to speak (shopping, connections with bus routes) but the other one is easier to navigate. The other is at 7800 S. You can't access this directly from the north, by turning off of 7200 S. Instead, you have to go to the traffic light at 180 West (the road that would take you past Sportsman's Warehouse) and turn to the south. You'll go down that street about a block, then turn right and you'll enter the parking lot. There's lots of parking here, as it's a very popular commuter stop for folks going into downtown, or down south--it's on the southern side of being halfway. There's also a bus loop on the south side here, where you can transfer away to bus lines to get where you need to go. This is also one stop away from Fashion Place West, which is the transfer station to the red line that takes you southwest to Daybreak. If you needed to go on that line and you were headed south, you've gone too far.

You can still ride for $2.50 one-way. #BLESSED amirite?? The trains are always right on time, which is super helpful if you know the schedule and can plan around it. There are plenty of maps and signs to follow, making this easy and accessible to all. There are a couple of stations that meet with the Frontrunner, so make sure if you're transferring that you know which direction you need to go--Murray Central and Salt Lake Central. This Blue Line in particular heads south to Draper and north up to Ogden. The train is warm, great to use if you're worried about driving a car(especially in the winter), and fast. It's not the cleanest and I've seen a few homeless people hop on and ride as long as they can, but they aren't bothersome. Have fun, and if it's your first time figuring out the system GOOD LUCK! UTA is apparently not smart enough to realize that calling a station "North Temple" and then…read morecalling another station 4 stops away "North Temple Bridge" causes needless confusion, wrong exits, and missed transfers. Seriously, no one thought that maybe it would be smart to only have one stop called North Temple? What kind of incompetent fools planned this piece of crap? Also, it should be obvious (although I'm sure it's not to the bureaucrats at UTA), but the terminals for buying tickets are clunky, dysfunctional, and extremely unintuitive. The touchscreen is apparently from 1990 with a sweet 4-second lag time. Want your terminals to be damaged from people punching them in frustration? Then you're in the right place. Say you want to catch the Frontrunner from the airport down to Utah county... Good luck magically knowing that you need a Frontrunner ticket starting at the North Temple station (oh, and that's the North Temple *Bridge* station of course, not the 1940 North Temple station). I still have no clue if I'm also supposed to pay for a Trax ticket from the airport to North Temple (again, obviously not the non-bridge North Temple, as that wouldn't transfer you anywhere). The Trax train very conveniently doesn't say 704 anywhere on it, just "GRN" (which obviously means green?) despite Google and the UTA trip planner giving the number 704. But rest assured, that number is just there to help confuse you, since you wont be able to find it anywhere. I've travelled around the world and the UTA transportation here wins for the most retarded piece of crap I've ever seen. Don't waste your time. It's not worth the hassle of trying to figure out UTA's nonsense, as the concept of usability in a mass transit system never crossed their mind.

There are a lot of good things about UTA. I love that I can get to work and home without having to…read moreuse a car. I like that most of the time it's pretty reliably on time. I think Blue Line cars need to switch to the same type of cars as green and red. The stairs are a pain in the but and frankly, a hazard. The drivers need to wait before they take off from a station. I have seen too many elderly knocked off their feet because they aren't given a chance to sit down. I also think they need to pay attention to who is on the platform. I have tries to catch the train but the doors have shut on me multiple times and they completely ignore what's going on. They just need to be aware of their surroundings.

It's free to travel within the downtown area and just a couple of dollars to ride further out. The transportation was easy to use, with clean buses and trolleys, and clear signage. A real asset for an urban city.

For that I applaud UTA. what a wonderful service. I picked front runner up in Draper and it was Al ready standing room only. By the time we hit Murray people on the platform could nt board. I am speaking without knowledge though I would think it would be fairly easy to add another car or2 or even run serve more frequent than every half hour. Just better planning is my recommendation. Also, why aren't there adequate bars to hold on to while I stand for an hour. They need cross bars at head height throughout making it safer for the people who stand.
