Just a few random tidbits that you might find useful if you're riding TRAX (Salt Lake's light rail…read moretransit system) and you're stopping or passing through Midvale. There are two Midvale Stations. This is the northern one, and lets you off pretty much at 7200 S. It's the more popular of the two for amenities, so to speak (shopping, connections with bus routes) but the other one is easier to navigate. The other is at 7800 S. You can't access this directly from the north, by turning off of 7200 S. Instead, you have to go to the traffic light at 180 West (the road that would take you past Sportsman's Warehouse) and turn to the south. You'll go down that street about a block, then turn right and you'll enter the parking lot. There's lots of parking here, as it's a very popular commuter stop for folks going into downtown, or down south--it's on the southern side of being halfway. There's also a bus loop on the south side here, where you can transfer away to bus lines to get where you need to go. This is also one stop away from Fashion Place West, which is the transfer station to the red line that takes you southwest to Daybreak. If you needed to go on that line and you were headed south, you've gone too far.

You can still ride for $2.50 one-way. #BLESSED amirite?? The trains are always right on time, which is super helpful if you know the schedule and can plan around it. There are plenty of maps and signs to follow, making this easy and accessible to all. There are a couple of stations that meet with the Frontrunner, so make sure if you're transferring that you know which direction you need to go--Murray Central and Salt Lake Central. This Blue Line in particular heads south to Draper and north up to Ogden. The train is warm, great to use if you're worried about driving a car(especially in the winter), and fast. It's not the cleanest and I've seen a few homeless people hop on and ride as long as they can, but they aren't bothersome. Have fun, and if it's your first time figuring out the system GOOD LUCK! There are only four kiosks to purchase tickets so during busy events there can be a line--give yourself plenty of time. It always feels safe.

Currently a student at Utah Valley University and we get free these services for free and I was so excited to try out this service. I absolutely love it and has helped me save so much gas, I rarely use my car! The stations don't have any bathrooms so make sure you go before you head out to your next destination. Also, sometimes they tend to leave right at the mark of the time listed on the bus,l and train schedule, they usually don't wait very long. I suggest getting there 5-10 minutes prior to the bus or train leaving. That way you're on time and I'm no rush to run to your next stop. No food is allowed to be eaten on the bus. If you are packing food, be sure to bring a backpack to store food in. It's common curtesy and it'll make everyone's bus or train experience pleasant. Im giving it four stars because sometimes they are late to certain stops (I.e taking bus to catch the front runner and missing it because the bus was caught in traffic or driver was late) I recommend leaving a bus stop earlier, but overall it's not too bad.

You won't have to fight for parking space. As far as Costco goes, it's in walking distance, but because you usually buy in large quantities your probably won't want to ride the trax. This is the location where you would catch the front runner going either North or South. Area was clean, and wait time was less than 10 minutes. Not knowing the time schedule we didn't have to wait long because on weekends the trax only runs every half hour. This is conference weekend, and hardly anyone was on the train, which made for a nice comfortable ride into town.

Trains are pretty close to the scheduled times for leaving, and arrivals which is a blessing not having to wait for long periods of time. There are a couple large apartment complexes that have been built near the station, and the entrance (if you didn't know where it was) you would miss it. There is no sign from the Main Street into the station parking lot. The parking lot is very rarely full so there is plenty of parking. I just wish they had covered parking, especially in the winter. If you're hungry when you get off the train, Arctic Circle is right next door, or you can walk across the street to Joe Morley's, if you like barbecue. Post office is next to Arctic Circle. As far as the station goes, no complaints, pretty nice trax system that our county put in to help with public transportation, and to help take cars off the road.

For that I applaud UTA. what a wonderful service. I picked front runner up in Draper and it was Al ready standing room only. By the time we hit Murray people on the platform could nt board. I am speaking without knowledge though I would think it would be fairly easy to add another car or2 or even run serve more frequent than every half hour. Just better planning is my recommendation. Also, why aren't there adequate bars to hold on to while I stand for an hour. They need cross bars at head height throughout making it safer for the people who stand.

Plus they have serious amounts of free parking here. This place is also great for taking a train up to the airport if you don't want to pay for parking. 8/10 I'll be coming back every time I don't want to drive to work.

He seemed even less aware of the parking situation than the riders. He pointed back and forth between the North and South lots when I told him the other was full. 15 other cars patrolling trying to find spaces. Have several friends that will drive up to American Fork or Lehi when the Orem lot is full. But if you're driving that far to catch the train, what's the point? Love the train on the weekend. The train does have a fair amount of homeless and drug users. Those I know in law enforcement and shelters say SLC police put these folks down to Utah County for assistance.
