I'll try to be brief...Terrible experience, except for the installers who were decent guys... Part of the quote process for me was timing. I had a very small window, 5 days M-F, to get carpet and flooring completed. I was told no problem. 4 weeks later I had to threaten to have everything pulled out if they did not come complete the job. Low and behold, after I had to be that guy, they sent some one over within an hour and a half. Very poor communication, in fact the project manager never once called me, not once. Office was disorganized and on the final week I had three no call, no shows. I was also billed without signing anything and low and behold the final bill was about $1,000 more than anything I had discussed. Needless to say, I wouldn't go back with them for anything. Mostly good review. The sales person was good but not completely upfront about the mess involved. It was tile removal and reinstall so knew it would be messy but that is not the issue. The installers (James and Ian) were amazing and would hire them in a heartbeat. But sadly their demo team were appalling!!!! Young kids and right off the bat, they made it clear they had another (bigger) job to go to. Horrible damage to baseboards (unusable) horrible damage to the transition pieces between the wood floor and the new tile (again, unusable) damaged our kitchen cabinets, damaged the return air vent (unusable), put 2 holes in the kitchen floor that had to be repaired. On July 8, 2021 I spoke with Cameron Turpin in my home regarding installation of luxury vinyl tile. We decided to proceed with the install. I made a deposit of $451.75 on my Visa card. My plans changed, and the next day, July 9, 2021, I called Cameron Turpin and informed him I no longer wanted to proceed with the installation, and I wanted him to refund the deposit of $451.75 back to my Visa. He said that was no problem, and he would see that the money was refunded. It is now September 7th, two months later, and no refund has been made. I have called Utah Flooring & Design at (801) 895-2115 and Home Solutionz at (480) 470-4517 multiple times over the past two months inquiring about the refund. Each time I was promised that someone would call me back to handle the refund, but no one ever called. Today, September 7, 2021, I again called (801) 895-2115 and was told that someone would call me regarding the matter. Nobody called. Now, when I call either number above, I am placed on a recorded message then hung up on. For a while I thought the two companies above were just inept, but now it's apparent they are fraudulent. I will now have to proceed with reporting them both to the Better Business Bureau, leaving poor reviews on Google and Yelp to warn others about their practices, and contacting Visa to have my deposit refunded. If you don't want to endure this kind of service, don't use Home Solutionz or Utah Flooring & Design for any flooring installations. They're crooks! read more

I have to share when I feel that a business is dishonest and corrupt. I had a friend who used Utah Flooring and Design for their house that they are selling. They booked their date in advance and then didn't hear anything. Their date came and went without any communication. They then started receiving emails that pushed their appointment date out further and further. Again, their appointment date came and went without anyone showing up. When they got sick of it and requested a refund, they were told they were not getting their money back unless they signed a paper saying they would not write a review of their experience. What?! So, wanting their money back, they signed a paper which led us to this moment where I needed to shed some light on the situation. This company is shady and UNPROFESSIONAL. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Save yourself some time and hardship and look ANYWHERE else!! You'll save yourself money and time. read more

Utah Flooring and Design is truly the worst company I have ever worked with. They installed a wood floor for me. 1. Tried to double the price after the project was started, telling me there were unforeseen issues that are critical to be fixed. We agreed on and increase of 50% instead because I felt pressured to do so. I since asked three other installers and they all said the issues were not critical, they were beneficial, but simply ways to increase the price. Believe it or not, this was the least important problem I had with these guys. 2. Multiple times just didn't show up on the dates agreed on and never called to let me know. 3. When they showed up, which was about 60% of the time, they only worked 2-4 hours a day. To be fair, there were two days they worked nearly complete days. 4. This was a fairly small job, most would have completed it in three-four days. At least that is what they told me. It took them four weeks. 5. Broke my new tile next to the wood floor they were installing. 6. I would call and email and never get a call back. When I did get someone they would just forward me to someone's voicemail, who then would not call me back. 7. After several attempts to ask where the installers were, I reached out to my salesperson, Cameron, and he told me "it's not his job" call the main number (which I already had done several times). I still have the text message. 8. Poor clean up afterwards. There was debris left all around. A picture was taken and given to management. 9. To be fair, they did do a couple things very well. First, Danny the main installer was fairly helpful and good to work with. Second, they are excellent bill collectors. They sent me no less than 20 emails and 8 phone calls asking for final payment. ALL BEFORE THEY HAD FINISHED THE JOB. Seriously, they wouldn't return a call when I asked them to show up to finish, but that same day I got a phone call and email asking for final payment. 10. When the floor was finally done, the quality was pretty good. You can't run away fast enough from this horrible company. read more

I read the other reviews before booking with this company. I figured I would give them the benefit of the doubt. It can't be all bad. I know people only tend to review something if their experience is phenomenal or awful. Man I wish I would have listened to the reviews. For me, the issue was not with the workmanship. Once I was able to coordinate directly with our installer, Brandon, things went really well and he did an excellent job. Especially on an old floor that needed a lot of work. My frustration came with the scheduling and cancelling of appointments. So. Damn. Aggravating. Our initial appointment was cancelled the night before they were due to come out. They left me a message and asked that I call back to reschedule. Fine. It happens. I called 4 times before anyone would get back to me to reschedule the job. I left messages, texts, etc...clearly not a priority to this company to return calls. I finally heard back from the project manager who was very apologetic and arranged for someone to come out the very next day. He assured me they would be there. Great, I thought. Someone understands and is taking this seriously. I took the next day off of work and waited. And waited. And waited. No one showed up. So I called the project manager. "Oh I tried to call you" he says. "No one can make it out today." Turns out for some asinine reason he called my work phone number which goes to the operator at Primary Children's Hospital so basically no way to get a message directly to me who works in an office on the fourth floor. Project Manager claims he left me a message to tell me about the cancellation. BS. No message. You can't leave messages on the operator phone at Primary Children's. SO instead of calling my damn cell phone number, which he had because he called me on it the day before, he just didn't call. Yes an email was sent to reschedule but I won't even get into how many emails I got confirming an appointment that it was really not clear that anything had changed. When I called frustrated with the situation all he said to me is "I don't know what to tell you Linn. I tried to to call you." Not, "sorry we screwed up and you lost a day of work..." or "what can I do to make it up to you" etc. He at this point guaranteed that he would have someone out the next day. I told him not possible I don't have that day off work. He assured someone would be there between 9:00 and 9:30. Also some BS about wanting to send us their best installer so that's why they kept delaying. Well, I've since read that line in another review so they are obviously using a line to try and appease people. Anyway, I opted to go in late to work the next day, but told them I absolutely have to leave by 9:30. I can let the installer in but can't miss another whole day of work. No one showed up. Called the company and was told the installer was coming at 3:00. Couldn't do it. Had to work. Again, complained. Again, was assured someone would be at my house between 9:00 and 9:30 the next day. Went in late to work, again, but no one showed up until I got a call at 2:00 pm that the installer was at my house. I was already at work at this point. I wanted to scream. The installer was also frustrated at which point he and I arranged our own schedule without the "help" of Utah Flooring and things went smoothly from there. I cannot believe how often this company assured us something would happen and then it didn't. It's pretty astounding to me that they don't realize it would have been better to be honest up front rather than continue to "guarantee" someone would be at the house between 9:00 and 9:30 only to show up hours later. Its about managing expectations and being reliable. Its like they don't realize that their clients have lives and jobs and can't just be around whenever the decide they can send out an installer. I was very impressed with the whole team at Utah Flooring Coverings. They were able to get out and give us a bid and have the Carpet installed in just over a week! The communication on the schedule and with the installers was fantastic! We put new carpet in the basement and upstairs, Paul was very upfront and let us know this was most likely a 2 day job. The installers we great kept me informed on the progress and when they thought they could finish and even stayed until after 7 to complete the job! They new carpet is amazing and we are very happy with and would recommend using Utah Floor Coverings!! read more

I have delayed providing any feedback because it makes me angry to think about the experience. I had tile and carpet done in my home October 2017. In the end I love my tile and the guys that installed the tile were great. The workmanship on the tile was fantastic. The carpet not so much. The job was rushed and not a lot of care was taken on the small things. I still see 2 seams in two doorways in my carpet every day that I was told would be fixed, but it is such a hassle to follow up with you guys so we are just living with it. There were 4 issues with the tile project management. #1 The wrong tile (cheaper ceramic) was delivered to my home and I had to call Floor & Décor and wait on hold for 45 minutes to talk to a manager to get the right tile delivered. Then I had to take time off work to wait for the guy to come and bring the right tile and take the wrong tile away. I also tweaked my back helping the delivery guy that could get the lift gate to lift the pallet without some manual help. I feel like the contractor should make sure the right product is delivered. Makes me wonder if they would have installed the wrong tile if I hadn't said anything. It is the attention to detail that makes great companies. #2 - We kept being told that someone would come and put in the backer board so we weren't walking around on subfloor while we waited for a repair to some subfloor damage. Heber kept telling us he was coming and an office lady kept asking if he had come, but he never came. Both my wife and I took time off work one day to wait for him and he never came. It finally got laid when the tile guys came. It wouldn't have been so bad if we weren't getting calls everyday asking if someone had come and then nothing changed. #3 - The tile bid was wrong and I ended up with 120 SF of additional materials. If I had not asked or complained nothing would have been done about it. In the end we came to an agreement to adjust the labor cost and I was able to return some of the materials, but it would have been nice to see the contractor be proactive about being accountable for their errors. It gave the impression that they are willing to dupe people as long as no one notices. So less astute buyers get ripped off. #4 - I gave a not so flattering review to the 3rd party handler used to book the tile job through Floor & Decor. I described the issues with the backer board and the labor estimate. I also mentioned the poor job on the carpet seams. I now understand that the carpet is done separately, but to me Utah Flooring and Design is one company. I got a call from Jason asking if I would amend my review, not because of the impact of their low-quality project management, but because they would get dinged and lose credibility. Jason did a great sales job and agreed to come out and get the carpet fixed. I called the company and asked to amend my review. They said they wouldn't allow it, which is fine with me because it made me angry that all they cared about was how they looked and not about having a satisfied customer. Jason never followed up to get the carpet fixed like he agreed. I get that good help is hard to find in this booming construction economy, but it is companies like this that will not last through the next downturn if we continue to put up with this. read more

We scheduled to have our floors done with Utah Flooring and Design . They sent an email on Nov. 14th advising that their installers would be on site 11/15 @ 9:00 a.m. with a two hr window. At 11:00 a.m. they had not arrived. After numerous calls and texts to their office and to the sales individual who scheduled the event who stated he would call us back (as of 11/22 we still have not heard from him) , we received a call in the afternoon stating that they were behind and would not be coming on the 15th. This after we took time off of work for 1/2 day. We received an email on the 15th indicating that they would be arriving at 1:00 p.m. on the 16th. At 9:00 a.m. on the 16th they contacted us to say the installers were done and would be at our home at 9:30 a.m. We work away from home, so again had to take time off to meet the installers. The work completed was done well, however I would caution anyone in working with their offices. They do not put the customers needs first and will not return text messages, phone calls or emails and make no effort to proactively advise the customer of changes to schedules, etc. read more

Run for your life! Is there a lower rating available? Do not entrust these people to installing anything. They sent out an installer (very small job, fortunately). He never showed for scheduled appointments (no call either) x 3. Turned up on my driveway at some point- dumped grout and other refuse (rusty screws) on my driveway- threw some excess grout/cement in my front yard (apparently thinking that it'd be inconspicuous in my river rocked yard segment). He said he'd return to clean up mess he left after tile installation (after he finally did show and install tile)- left grout splats on walls, floor and my furniture, and never came back- never responded to calls/texts. I had to sand, patch/drywall and repaint the entire area. When you call company for help/advice, they're always courteous/apologetic but basically tell you that they can't get ahold of installer...can't do anything about it... Also, they tell you to purchase tile (all else included in price)- then installer says you have to purchase grout...blah blah blah is extra.... Your money is better spent elsewhere or even DIY (seriously) because you'll basically be left with correcting and cleaning up/ correcting the aftermath of these people AND paying more for it! Honestly, I don't ever do reviews (don't bother/pick my battles). I'm also economically fortunate to be able to recuperate with financial consequences of dealing with this company. I know others are not as fortunate, and that's why I urge you to reconsider doing business with this company. read more

Do not use this company. Utah Flooring and Design began work installing an oak wood floor in our home almost a month ago. From the beginning they did not show up as scheduled. Initially, they didn't have enough wood for the delivery. Then they didn't deliver enough wood and tried to charge us for more wood (at a much higher price) because they said that they had measured wrong. The originial measurement was correct and they eventually removed that extra charge. When the floor finally was laid down, many pieces of the wood had holes in it, had broken corners, or were split. The filler that was used to patch the flooring did not match the wood. The result was disapointing and certainly not worth the $6000 we had contracted to pay for it. Since no one would answer our texts or phone calls, we drove to the Midvale office and convinced an employee there to send someone out to look at the floor. When the installer came back to mark the inferior pieces of wood, he said there was so many bad pieces that the whole floor would need to be replaced. We still have not resolved the issue. We had paid 50% down when we contracted with the company. They charged our credit card for the rest of the project on the day that they began the installation. We have disputed the credit card charge until the issue is resolved. Unfortunately, Amy, our project manager, does not answer our phone calls or texts. In the meantime, we have lived without our main living area since the middle of July. read more

Was referred to this company by a customer from my business, we needed a tile shower install and tile for laid in our unfinished basement. The two stars are for their workmanship otherwise it would be a big fat zero. They did a nice job with the tile but their professionalism was a zero along with their punctuality. They were never on time for their two hour window and a couple times didn't even show up. The installers didn't even speak English, come on, your working in the US, please learn to speak the native language. Both my wife and I work so one of us had to take time off from work for them and then they were a no show? Had to baby sit the installers to make sure it was getting done correctly. Asked them not to cut tile in our garage as we have several very expensive motorcycles in there and they did anyway till I caught them. Had to call my project manager to have them come back out because they forgot to install the soap shelf. It was just one thing after another! The job was suppose to take 4 days to complete, it took almost 3 weeks! And after the fact the customer that referred us is also having issues with getting his project done by then as well. I believe this company is just a flooring contractor that sublets their jobs out to sub contractors, learned or lesson, won't use them again. read more

So far NOT SO GOOD! I hired utah flooring about two months ago. They scheduled a guy to come out but he wasn't available for several weeks but we were assured this guy was their best and it would definitely be worth the wait. He shows up 4.5 hours late and tells us nothing but negatives about how it would be a pain unless he got more money . We said fine we will pay more since we had already waited several weeks . Then he wasn't available for another several weeks. He then shows up 5.5 hours late, even after he assured us he wouldn't be late the next time. Instead of being ready to work he instead tells us we were supposed to have done a few things prior to him starting ( things he complained of earlier that we said we would pay him extra to do even though the initial bid -by the bidder-a different guy--said he would cover those things . When we expressed our concern he was late 5.5 hours the second time he didn't apologize at all. Rather, he never showed up the next day to do the job and instead tells utah flooring he didn't feel like even doing the job. So we call the owner jason who says he will have another one of his tile installers to come out . That second guy we were told would come out the next day. He never did. I called jason again and he was nice but said the installer would be out the following Monday to finish the job. He said the installer would. One that night to look over the job to ensure no more delays. Only after I called several times did the installer finally call me back. He promised to come that day but no showed. That entire weekend I tried to set up a time to meet with him but never was given the courtesy of a call back. He shows up Monday morning only to tell me utah flooring booked him for another job that same time so he would do that other smaller job that morning then do my place after then finish up the following morning at 8 am.. We waited all afternoon and he no showed. He never left a phone or a text message as a courtesy . The next morning he didn't show at 8 like he said. Instead my wife waits until 10:30 then leaves. I come home from work early just to be there when they come and they knock on the door at 11:30 and when I asked them why they were late and didn't bother to even text or call their only response was that they will tell utah flooring to get another contractor on the job if I don't want them. I said I wanted them to get the job done asap since we've been delayed two months and they said they didn't want to do the job and to call utah flooring to get another sub to do it. When I called to discuss this I was given the runaround by the "project manager" and sent to a voicemail of the owner. I haven't yet received a call back. If I were you I would stay away from this company. They don't have employees that have any concern about customer service. The subs they hire are totally flakey and could care less about your time and your satisfaction. If there was a zero star option they would definitely get it. read more

Our contractor recommended Utah Flooring and we're so glad he did. Paul gave us the kind of sales pitch we love. Low pressure, answering all our questions, and helping us find the solutions we want. Kaisa was our project manager and was so helpful in getting things scheduled around our busy schedules. Carlos was our installer and did an amazing job with our stairs, basement, and kids rooms. Amy came through to do quality control but they'd done such a great job she just took pictures of the amazing transformation. I used them twice, first was for carpet install which they did a good job on. On time service as promised and delivered. Good communication. This was back in 2014. Come 2016, due to their service earlier, I hired them again for Tile installation and complete opposite opinion than the first time. No communication once customer is committed. Timelines keep pushing, work gets delayed for no reason. Calls to mobile phones never get answered and text messages never get replied in time, most of the times (especially Paul) not replying at all. If it was for securing a job, then I've got replies as late as 9 PM in the night. The sub-contractors hired never stuck to the scheduled times. A 300 sq.ft tile floor installation has taken about 2 weeks and is still pending. A small carpet work has been pushing for a week. I would've recommended them if not for the tile installation experience (Still pending by the way). You'd be better off going to another company if you care about the work being done in time and expect proper communication from the vendor and value for the money. read more

What can I say. Read the reviews. I wished I had. Worst company ever. So unprofessional. If I could leave negative stars I would. They are great and prompt getting you what you think is a great bid! They collect your money, then the fun begins. They wont call you back. They call you when they are good and ready, and upon setting appointments with you, they NEVER are on time or keep the appointment. I must have wasted 20 hours meeting and waiting for their crews to show up. Multiple times, they did not show up at all, and gave every lame excuse they could as to why they didn't make their commitment. Their project manager, Amy, what a joke. All she does is call you to extort more money out of you "so they can do the job right". She never returns calls for problems or concerns. Same with the owners. I had 3 jobs lined up and paid for. They all cost more money, which I found out after my old tile and floor were removed (to late to do anything but pay the extra). I understand there are unforeseen things in a flooring bid, but these are things, like product and finish quality, which I requested the best they have when meeting with the bidder. They did hundreds of dollars in damages to my house and refused to come back and fix. In fact the final job had to be done twice (hard wood flooring), and still was a pretty poor job. Spare yourself the aggravation and frustration and find a professional who wants to do a good job...not this company , that cares only about money and not their customers. read more

Very rarely do I give a review like this. They just treated us horrible. They put the wrong color carpet in our rental. Then afterwards to make it up to us they said we were wrong and they were right. They threatened to send us to collections while we were waiting to hear back from the project manager who never called me back. We had correspondence with our sales guy proving otherwise. In the end they gave a $200 discount however they were rude and unprofessional about it. Our final invoice also had another snide comment on it that made me decide to leave this review. I was never given the opportunity to do any business with Utah Flooring. My experience began with requesting a quote from a contractor recommended by Homeadvisor and also Angieslist. Both sites recommended this sorry excuse for a company. I was contacted by some foreign woman with a heavy accent who was an actual employee of the company and said one of her estimators would be in contact with me within 2 hours. Never happened. Next day I call her back, and email her directly because you know stuff happens. Nope, negative contact. So, in the end I will NEVER do business with this company and if you've read others reviews then you know my experience is not the exception. read more

Fraudulent company. First they gave me a price quote and contract and then later called and said the piece of granite for my counter tops was not big enough and raised the price for over $1000. Then they sealed it wrong and it all got stained and even chipped. I called to get them to see my granite. They made an appointed, I stayed home from work and they did NOT show up, not once but twice. When the manager finally showed up he knew nothing about granite. He checked with his granite expert who said it wasn't sealed properly. His company was to blame BUT they blamed me and wanted to charge me to fix their mistake. Now they are calling me 3 times a day for the 10% of the bill i refused to pay until they fixed my mess of a counter top. Worst company I have ever worked with. read more

Update - I completed the project with another professional since UF&D was a no show and never called to clarify or reschedule. Five days later I get an email telling me of the appointment to complete the job. I sent an email cancelling completion. I get a phone message the following morning from the installer asking if he can come earlier. I returned his call and thought the case was closed. Later that day, I get a call from the project manager upset that I was not there for the installer. IRONIC since I was at work, but had been available all day on the day scheduled. I reminded him that I had been trying to get a hold of him and disputed the charges for work not completed. Not too long after that I get a text message from another employee at UF&D asking how the installation went as the installer submitted the work as completed. I called the number and left a message asking to speak with her, which she did but hung up and has not talked with me since. There seems to be so many people involved in "projects" so it is obvious that there is little to no communication between colleagues. Bottom line is there are better companies to work with and the hassle of having to keep up with these folks and their lack of professionalism is exhausting. I normally have great experiences with professional contractors, but this company is an obvious outlier - take your business elsewhere. read more

Where do I begin with this whole process? Let's start at beginning. Salesman came out, had samples and seemed great at his job. We hired them. But shouldnt have! Downhill from there. Demolition started in home. No regard for anything, not protection on new floors we had installed before they came. They withdrew all of money owed, plus! Charged us for things they were not using. Part of tile was getting done, they had to remove because I told managers they needed to come look at work. Of course it was done wrong. Had to re demo. Again with no regard to walls trims, cabinets. Had to file a grievance, to put hold on our acct. Neverending story. The first tile people we started with, were let go because of bad work. Tile was being put directly on subfloor. The managers are rude and kept trying to put blame on us, for their shotty work. I had to call almost everyday, because no one was there yet or didnt show. They brought in a new tile guy who had a mess to deal with because of other tile peoples messes. I wish we had never of used them. Please save yourselves alot of grief, do not use them. They do not care, they just want the money. Workers are overworked and cannot get jobs done on time. Our new tub was all messed up from tile and tools being dropped in it. They would not replace it. There are so many more things that went wrong, and we still are not satisfied with the work. We have learned our lesson with this company. Always check reviews!!!!! read more

Highly recommend this pitiful excuse for a company if you hate people taking pride in their work. You will receive no oversight of work provided by contractors, contractors walking off the job because the company won't pay them for older jobs. Work having to be redone because the last guy did it wrong, people tramping through your house for weeks on end, and leaving a mess everywhere! Our 3 week job turned into 8 weeks and multiple trips of me running to the tile store for supplies! When the job was finally done after two demolitions, Utah flooring just charged my credit card, no "how's it look, sorry for the inconvenience" they were not interested in how their contractors were performing or the quality of work going into the job at all. Lesson learned on this place, avoid at all costs! spend a few more bucks and go with a company that knows what the hell they are doing! The lack of professionalism and organaziation is pretty shocking...shocking how they're still in business. They sell cheaper than others but their laborers haven't a real clue as how to properly install carpet. They're experts though at cutting corners. We made the mistake of going with this company (our fault) and after we got three rooms installed we discovered The true colors of this place. Our carpet was not power stretched so therefore it began to crease in multiple spots in all the rooms, the seams were as if my 2 year old installed it etc! The list goes on. When we expressed of displeasure so they sent another installer out which did nothing to solve the problem. When we called in again to request a re-stretch guess what happened....yep you guessed it we were over our warranty and out of luck, but they did offer to send someone out to do a proper power stretch for only $500. Just had another installer from another company come out and he was disgusted and shocked as to how they installed our carpet and the corners they cut. Bottom line folks, this place is honestly a joke, from the front office staff to the installers, spend a bit more and get the experience and craftsmanship you deserve. read more

Trying to speak to the "project manager" has been a nightmare. We had to cancel our project because our furnace went out so our funding went to that and we have been trying to get our deposit back for over a week now. We have been given the runaround on who to speak to and when i was on the phone with billing and asked to speak to her manager, she put me on hold and then hung up on me. They want to charge a $200.00 fee for canceling which is outrageous!! Good luck with these jokers. read more

I hired these guys to do a bathroom remodel. It was supposed to take 2-3 weeks, and instead took them 3 months. They sent 1 guy to do the whole remodel by himself. He would show up late, take 2 hour lunches, work maybe 3 hours then leave. There were many days he didn't even show up to work at all. There was also an issue with him messing up the new tile floor he installed. My complaints to the owners were trivialized and ignored. This was the worst experience I've ever had with a remodel. Save yourself a lot of stress and anguish, and hire someone else. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before choosing Utah Flooring. If I had I certainly would not have ever used this highly unethical company. I hope this review will help others make their own decision. These are simply the facts of my experience with Utah Flooring and my opinions of my overall experience. I worked with Jack Esper - sales, Kimball Hess - Project Manager, and the owner Jason Darger. I was repeatedly lied to by all three. The project did not start on the agreed upon date, the project was not completed, the project was poorly done. When I tried to get them to come fix all the errors I was told by the Project Manager, Kimball that "we will do whatever it takes to make it right, even if that means ripping it all out and doing it again" ( I have video of this conversation). However the owner, Jason, who started his conversation with me threatening that he has more lawyers than I do, proceeded to tell me they would not be fixing the problems and If I did not pay he would lien my house. (I have a recording of this entire conversation). Which he didn't do, he simply charged my credit card without my permission for the remainder of the project and refuses to complete the job. I have had to hire another tile guy to rip out a great deal of the work they did to do the job right and finish all the items that were not completed by Utah Flooring. They also stole tools from my home. Seriously, this is the most unethical contractor I have used. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Unless you want to be overcharged, and not get what you paid for, have the project last weeks beyond what they tell you, have a huge mess to clean up after them, and look like crap when it all done.. just move on and find a reputable contractor. I scheduled two jobs with this company , the first was to install tile ( supplied ) the estimator measured the total square footage, a shower/tub surround , and the floor , also supplied tile. The total price was approximately $1170, not a bad deal. Once the installers began I was sent a new invoice for an additional $ 399 for a " change order" . I changed nothing , square footage did not change. I asked the installer what the additional charge was for and he didn't know, he said " they do this to everyone" , nice. No one would return my calls, Estimator is nowhere to be found , so they promptly charged my CC. Tile is installed on the floor crooked, off 2 " over 7 feet, tile on the shower wall was installed mostly on the wonder board, but they exceeded it by 1 1/2 " and attached it to drywall, not really the best install. Second job was mud and taping/sanding/texturing of my basement hallway and adjacent bathroom, they called and said they were finished. I went up to the house to look at the work and discovered they didn't mud and tape the bathroom. I met with the installer before he began the work and told him that everything in that area ( newly drywalled ) was to be taped/ sanded/ ceiling textured. Utah Flooring charged my CC before I approved their work. Now I have a small bathroom that needs mud/tape/sanding/texturing, and I'll probably have to do it myself, something I don't have time to do. Billing seems to be # 1 with this company, nothing else matters. Would I use them again. NO. read more
