"DON'T EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!" Owner/Company will not contact you to resolve anything, they just say they will to save face. I wanted to let you know of my concerns about my dealings with Utah Flooring. First of all we had agreed on an installer to come to the house on the morning of October 1st. I took an entire day off of work to be at the house. I was never contacted about the installer being late or that he eventually would never show up at all. I had to call and text and still never got a clear answer as to when the installer would show up, I was informed at the end of the day that they would be there the morning of October 2nd, that didn't happen either, the installer didn't show up until after 2pm. After the job was completed the moulding around the thresholds were done so poorly, they were barely glued on. I had to pay another handyman to remove them all and install them correctly due to having renters move in that day. I just now got my bill and to my shock it is $100.00 higher than the original price quoted. I talked to Jack who told me that they had to replace more square footage than I had mentioned on the phone. My real problem is that I was not informed of this before the actual installation took place. No phone call, no text or email to let me know that I would be charged more than I had agreed on. This reflects poorly on your company in the terrible job of communication. I am not pleased with my dealings with your company. I would never recommend them! We had them give us a quote that was fine. The day of removal I was there, three and a half hours later they still hadn't shown I called and they said oh, no one is coming today did no one call you? They could have cared less. They were suppose to install the next two days and they would catch up and it would take no time to catch up because there would be a team sent. One guy was sent. He didn't even get removal done that day. I was assured that it would be done by Friday. Friday came and turns out they short ordered the carpet and I had to wait an additional week for them to get carpet. Never did they get more people. They knicked my brand new base boards while installing. I called to ask about repairs they said they would call back, next call I got was for payment a week later, never from the manager in charge who was suppose to call about repairing my base boards. They could care less about their customers. read more

This is the rudest company I ever worked with. They delivered the wrong color, then they made me pay another 199.00 to get the color I wanted. It took over a month to get the floor done. I would suggest never using them. They are horrible and rude. They should be put out of business now. read more

The did a great job on my floor and matched it up perfectly with the existing one. My only critique would be that they tape the baseboards, as not to transfer stain onto them. I had to spend an hour repainting them. read more

STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!!! Worker stole money from a closed box on the top shelf of a room he wasn't supposed to be in. The first day they were five hours late so I missed work for no reason. The second day when they came back to finish the job they were six hours late. Which made me missed another day of work. The owner was not helpful or sympathetic. Horrible experience. read more

I called two months ago and got my first quote. I got told they could fit me in with very little notice, but the first time I called they couldn't. The second time they said they could and would have the office call me to schedule and then no one did. The last time I called the price had gone up $80 from the first quote. I only had two days to get it done and didn't want to start over finding someone else. They told me someone would call within the hour to schedule as I told them I needed to know right away if they could do it. It was 4 hours later just as I was researching other companies. And guess what the price had gone up $10 more. They discounted it back off when I protested. The day of the carpet stretching the guy showed up without calling, not during his scheduled time, when I wasn't home. His paperwork said I was moving the furniture when the sales person had asked if the rooms were empty and when I said they weren't he said they would move the furniture. The scheduler never even mentioned furniture to me. The installer said he would have to do a change order and indicated there would be an additional charge. I tried to both call and text the sales person who did not ever return my attempt at contact. The installer agreed not to charge me extra, but my son helped him move some of the furniture and I helped him move another piece then put one whole room back together by myself. When he was almost done an office person called the installer to ask what the problem was. I was never contacted. When he left I asked how I paid and he said he didn't know. This company has horrible communication and constantly increasing prices. I would not recommend them. read more

This company will rip you off. They did me. My house was left unfinished and all I get is excuses from them. So I'll have to take them to court. I made the mistake of paying them first. Jason and Kevin are crooks and only care about getting your money. Stay clear of this company or you'll regret it. They suck really bad. No respect and lie lie lie. I wish there was a ZERO. Absolutely awful. I hope people actually read these reviews and trust what others have to say. We did not read them until after and we are sorry we didn't sooner. We scheduled an appointment and they charged us half of the installation fee, which was fine. We had to cancel due to something that came up and called them with 24 hours notice. We were told we could not cancel at first. Then we were told we would not get our money back. Then we were told there was a cancellation fee, but no one ever told us what that was. Then we were told we would receive our refund if we wrote a positive review about the company and took a screen shot and texted it to them so they knew we did it. We obliged thinking that was the only way we would get our money back. We heard nothing. We called every week for about 6 weeks and they started avoiding our phone calls. No one would either pick up when they saw our number on caller ID or they would put us on hold for an extraordinary amount of time only to tell us they would work on it. I was also told management would be contacted regarding this. Heard nothing. We finally ended up getting our money back after threatening with a lawyer. Most frustrating and unnecessary experience ever. After reading other reviews, turns out we are not the only one that has experienced something like this. I'm skeptical of the positive reviews because now I wonder if they were blackmailed somehow into writing something positive like we were. Please do not use this company. read more

I highly do not recommend. At first the quote representative was great. Installer was to be at my home within a certain time frame yet five hours late from it never showed. Called the company asking where the installer was? So they dispatched another installer then right when the installer got to my home the Installer told me he couldn't finish the job that night and gave me a time for two days later. Five hours after this time he showed up failed again with completing the carpet install. Sets a time to complete the job the next day. Installer calls an hour to coming to complete and asks if I can wait another two days. I said nope and to finish the job that night no more procrastinating. Completely disappointed in service and time frames. Then why calling the company not once but 4 times to pay my final bill after this crap with the installer, I was hung up on 3 outta the 4 times. hi this is kathy smith of american fork. i would not go to these people. they sent out a boy age 21 and said he had many many yrs experience. He was not old enough to have many many years of experience. Big gaps in the sides and top of the walls, and the base bottom ledge of my shower window was crooked so that tiles were not squared off. with a squared off grout line. i can say tons more that is bad, also like the scheduler and project manager and the bid guy acted like they would not send someone else out to fix his mistakes. i will not mention the boys name, BEFORE, before i signed with Utah flooring i requested a very qualified craftsman as i was paying $10 per tile to be stuck down stuck down. or $400 for 2 small teeny tiny window ledges. they still sent me an inexperienced boy. they said he "was the best" this boy was so untrained he started gluing with regular glue my tiles to the mud below. hello, he did not even know he had to dig the mud out as mud would dissolve. he did not know he had to dig down then find wood and then build up with backer board to make a ledge. i had to supervise this boys all his actions. this took 4 hours of my valuable time, for such a crappy job that is so unprofessional. i had to tell the boy to use thin set as it was not a back splash but a shower stall window that had water going on it, . he was going to use mastix. which is not waterproof. as he also laid tile on top of my bedroom window ledge putting a dot of mud in the center of the tile making the tiles rock. Anyone knows you have to put a layer of mud all along the bottom of each tile, not just a DOT of MUD in the center when i asked him why the edges stood up and it was not flat, he blamed the Lowe's poor tile. i have tenants moving in tomorrow, aug 1st they need to shower, if utah flooring would have sent out a proficient man in the first place, my deadline would have been met and tenants would be nice and happy. to shower. Yesterday project manager said it would be later this week, but today he said someone is not coming until tue of NEXT WEEK 8 days later .after tenants have moved in . i can say more but will let this company come forth and have better customer service. they need to know who THEY HIRE their lack of skills, AND NOT TRAIN them on our time. They need to not just send out a boy they hire for minimum wage and talk him up to the public. . They need to train them, they need to tell the tech that it is a shower, not a backs plash, big loss of communication between all the management. and workers All three top men, they need to listen logically to a customer as we are paying the bill and keeping them in business. i feel stuck i put $180.00 or 1/2 down and still wonder if they are coming out at all to finish this. i have tons of family and people i know in utah county and salt lake county that will hear this review, utah flooring still drags their feet these three months later. i give a big fat zero is that choice was possible. i have tried to call the owner, but somehow they keep his name silent on the net. so maybe he will call me now i have posted to solve my problem they caused. Terrible experience with this company. We hired this company specifically because we wanted a contractor who could restain our hardwood floors as well as our island with built in stools plus stair rails and banisters all the same color. We were provided with an estimate that included all of this within the scope of work for $2k and put down a deposit of $1.3 and scheduled. They work on the floor went just fine. Other than a few hairs we found stuck in the stain coat and the fact that the workers refused to help lift the stove back to the location where I could reconnect it, it looks good and we're happy with that part. Immediately after they did the floor we started getting spammed with docusign requests to essentially sign off on the job being completed etc. which it wasn't, only the floor was done. It's now been over a month and we are getting blown off by the company pure and simple. We've called and texted the estimator with no response. We've called scheduling dozens of times and been told we would get a call back but have never gotten one. We've called the project manager and been told we would get a call back and never gotten one and have left voice mails that go un-returned. So unprofessional it's mind boggling. How do you expect to get repeat business or referrals when you can't even respond to a customer about finishing a job. Disappointing to say the least. I'm not paying the balance of the job until it's done. Maybe I never pay the balance. I'd rather pay it and get what I wanted from the beginning, floor, island with stools, stairs and banisters all the same color. Instead of feel like I got baited, switched and then ignored. THEY contacted ME after I put a detailed description out on an a "services needed" website, asking if they could come out and give me an estimate. A week after coming out to price out the job, they still had not contacted me, so I called them up. They had forgotten about me. Then they later told me that my job wasn't big enough for them to bother. Then they asked if I'd be willing to wait until January, their slow season. I still had not even received the estimate! DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE - Save yourself some grief and frustration. I should have paid more attention to the comments about customer service and scheduling. The initial consultation and estimate went great, but know ahead of time they ask for 75% up front which is a little steep, regardless I paid and got on the schedule, needless to find out the first opening was 2 weeks away, the scheduler called me several days later to set up the time of arrival, the night before we had all the furniture moved and ready to go. The day they were supposed to start no one showed up, I waited an hour past their arrival window and then reached out to them, took them at least an hour to reply to my text and then another 2 hours to find out that there was "bad news" and that the installer was stuck on another project (keep in mind no one called me to advise me of any of this, I had to do all the work when no one showed up for their scheduled appt!) I was furious and asked for a refund, they were slow to do that because they said it's the "busy season" and it would be hard to find another installer......actually that's my problem not theirs.....needless to say I found another installer who actually got out to me the next day and completed the entire project in 1 day for less cost. I am not sure how these people stay in business, this is the 3rd experience I have heard of this happening with this company. The owner Paul doesn't follow thru and it's his family member that comes out and does the estimates. Be cautious if your looking for someone reliable who will follow thru with what they say. Any company who asks for 75% up front and then doesn't even have the decency to call when you can't make an appt (they told me they could reschedule me for a week later) is unprofessional and unethical, it's no way to run a business. Save yourself the time and money and do NOT use this company. The scheduler even told me he would talk to the "boss" about my situation but obviously the "boss" didn't care enough to try to do anything to make it right. My parents had a similar experience, found them on thumbtack, the estimate went great but even now over a month later can't get the estimate or anyone to even call them back! My mom even told the owner Paul she managed and owned over 80 properties and was looking for someone to give the work to, must not be doing too bad if you can afford to lose that kind of business. read more

Just an update... On working with our new contractor, we discovered that much of what Utah Flooring did was incorrect. We had to pay someone else to go back and fix much of what was done incorrectly. For instance, their handyman buried live electrical wires from a light switch box into a wall and plastered over it. This had the potential to start a fire and future owners would have no idea that there were live electrical wires there. The plumbing for our bathtub faucet (which they buried underneath a tile floor) was missing a critical bracket to support the faucet. The new contractor had to rip up the flooring and fix this plumbing. Utah Flooring says they offer a warranty on all their work, but when their work is completely shoddy and it's next to impossible to actually get a competent person onsite, what is the warranty even worth? After starting the project, every time they mentioned the warranty to me, I wanted to laugh. I knew that was just a worthless statement. If they're not motivated to do the job right before you pay them, how are they going to be motivated to fix it after you've paid them. read more

I can not see that they are BBB or have a contractors license. I had paid for half of my project back in May. Which I wanted flooing leveled and vynle done. Someone scheduled to come out and start on the project and the laborer had no idea what had to be done and had told me he didn't know how. I thought that wasn't very professional so I let that go. Not only once THREE TIMES. Waste of my time having to leave work. Funny after the third time I had told them if they can't do it then let me know not just string me on for three months and lie. Oh boy they sure took my money fast. I also recieved three pricing quotes for the same project. I have left messages and even wrote a certified letter and still no response. I had Utah Flooring refinish my hardwood. While the floors look good, this company was horrible. Partway into the job, they told me that they hadn't given a complete bid. They wanted to charge another $350.00 which then made the job more than what Bowcutts (I've used Bowcutts in the past, and they have been fabulous) bid was. I should have gone with Bowcutt!! When I protested the extra amount, I was told by Paul that it would be worked out to my satisfaction. He was going to talk with Jason and call me right back. Not only did he not call me back, but he put the final payment through on my credit card with the extra $350.00. When I called again, he denied ever talking to me. We had talked about it three different times. They assign a project manager, Heber to the job. I have left messages for Heber three different times. He has never called me back. The contractor that did the job was very nice and polite, but he did not put any protection over furniture or blocking other rooms. The fine dust was everywhere in the house. We had to hire a cleaning company to help us wash down all walls and cabinets. I had to have my furniture cleaned. Also, the contractor left his machine on our living room carpet, so I had to have carpets cleaned as well. My husband called and asked to speak to the owner, and they would not give him the owners name or connect him to his voice mail. Do not use this dishonest company. read more

This company is best avoided. I contracted them to install carpeting and tile in my condo. The quality of the work wasn't bad nor the materials...it is the customer service after the point of sale that is abysmal. After the initial installation of the tile and carpeting, only a stairway needed to be done -- that was five months ago. The salesman who's cell phone is the main contact number for this company will rarely return a text, call or email. The material for the stairway has been gathering dust in my living room ever since it was delivered, and I fear I may be going to court to get reimbursed for it's cost, since I was already charged for it before they installed it. I will most likely have to contract with another outfit to finish the job. read more

My experience with these guys started off okay and ended poorly. They installed new laminate and base boards in my kitchen and living room, but when the installer was leaving I pointed out that they hadn't put the toe kicks back in under my cabinets. He said it wasn't on the work order and left. So I called my contact with them, and he said it was on the work order and Miguel was just trying to get out of the work of cutting them, that he'd have them come back out. Days go by. I call and get no phone call back. Finally I reach the project manager who says it wasn't on the work order, and I said look, I will pay for it if I haven't already, just tell me how much it will be and get someone out here to finish the dang job. He said he'll look into it, but that he had so many other jobs on his list that it might be weeks. "Who knows". Then the first contact guy finally calls, says the project manager and Miguel are "scared" to re-cut my toe kicks to fit so he'll come out to do it himself. Then he never followed up. They also keep having a lady call me to tell me the paperwork is done and shows the job as complete, and I don't even know how many times I've told her just because the paperwork says that doesn't mean it's done. I've told multiple people with the company that it isn't done, that pieces of wood they ripped out of my cabinetry are still on my floor. Telling me repeatedly that they're done doesn't make the wood go away. read more

DO NOT USE. NOT HONORABLE AND DO NOT PERFORM QUALITY WORK. Hired them to install glass tile kitchen backsplash. We paid a deposit in order to secure an install date on a Thurs/Fri. Day before the install, they changed the date regardless of our protests, to Fri/Sat. We called the project manager and the GM, neither returned our call. Installer, Tom, arrived late, took 3 hours to "set up", took at least six 30 minute breaks, installed two rows of backsplash tile, took 15 minutes to load up his truck. Before he left, asked what time he would come on Saturday. He stated he would be back Monday. We called and spoke to the Project Manager, Kaisa Kinikini, explained Monday was not acceptable. Kaisa stated he would get it resolved, he did not return our call. Over the weekend, I noticed the glass tile was chipped and the backing was coming off. On Monday, the installer stated that was the best he could do. Again, called the project Manager, Kaisa, guess what, no call. Fast forward, job gets done poorly. Call Kaisa, he comes to the house, apologizes profusely and states he had several complaints with the installer and they have had enough of his issues. Three weeks after completing the job, we call Kaisa, want some money back because we do not want them to repair as we have had enough of empty promises, poor quality and lack of professionalism. Kaisa offered to send Tom back out to the house, thought they had enough. Kaisa went on to say this was our fault and should have fired Tom. We tried to get resolution with Kaisa but now it is our fault? Are you kidding! These people will simply aggravate you, you will NOT be happy. Look at the other reviews, poor reviews get a response to say call the management. I tried during the process, the management does not care, the employees do not care and every installer is sub-contracted out. No integrity, poor quality and zero professionalism. Worst Experience ever! All I have to say wont fit in the space provided! If you are considering hiring them, RUN! If you were recommended to use them by Floor & Decor, RUN. Floor & Decor has good deals but hire ANY other installer you can find!! We started our kitchen remodel in September 2015, and just finished it February 2016! We remodeled our kitchen. removed all cabinets and appliances and had new cabinets and counters ordered and waiting on floors. Went to Floor and Decor to pick out tile and thats when we met Jason from Utah Floor Coverings. Only you find out later that its another company out of state HSS, in contract with Floor and Decor who sub contracts to companies in other states (Utah Floor Coverings) who then sub subcontracts it out to smaller installers. WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE! So we pick out tile have them come to our place and do an estimate. The estimate ended up being over estimated by 40 sq feet and we had to have the price adjusted later. We agree on a price and are told it will be 2 days, maybe 3 to remove our old tile and install new floor. By this time its Halloween week, because it took time to order everything and set up all the different installers. First day, 2 installers are supposed to show up, but we had to call when they were an hour late, then only 1 showed up. He worked for 3 hours and only removed about 1/5 the floor then left. I called to see what was the deal because there was no way it would get done at this rate. They sent him back, saying he was at lunch, but he told us he was coming back tomorrow not going to lunch. So he comes back, works for 2 hours then starts packing up his gear. He said he would return with help 10 am next day, but we knew better. Rob, the job supervisor shows up and assures us he will be there the next morning, but he never returned. By 12pm they phoned and said that guy was fired and we would have a new crew that afternoon. I was impressed with their fast action and good customer support, but it was short lived. Later 2 installers and 1 helper arrived. they worked hard and fast, and we were very impressed. Thought for sure we were on our way to a new kitchen. Then we found out it was going to be at least 4 more days of no kitchen.and we had to reschedule our cabinets and counter tops which is hard to do before the holidays. Sad part is we had to use up vacation days to cover it. Finally the first week of November the floor was done. Cabinets the next 2 days, then counter tops a week and a half after that. Almost an entire month with no kitchen, but worth it. it looked beautiful. Then a few days later tiles started moving and grout was coming out. Each day tiles got looser. At first we thought maybe just a one or two tile deal, but no such luck. We call and they send the installers over the next day. Good service. Not a problem personally but it comes into play later. so the show up and say,"Ya, this floor no good. We knew it not last. We reset loose tiles and you just call if more come loose" They say whole floor would be garbage in 6 months, then proceed to pull up tiles then use glue to put them back down. The next day I got a text from the first installer saying that he saw the work they did and told Paul (the owner) that it was installed wrong and would pop up in weeks. He said Paul said," I dont care, their check has already cleared". Now its the week of Thanks Giving and I call again to Utah Floor and this time the owners come out, Jason and Paul. I was impressed. They assured us they would make it right and apologized profusely. Promised us a new floor at no cost no hassle because the whole floor was installed wrong. They also said that the first installer was just disgruntled and had texted a few other customers about the guys who installed my floors. but not to worry. We agreed to wait until first week of January because they had alot of other jobs to do that month. January 6 comes and 10am comes and goes and nobody is there to do the job! I call and they are at Floor and Decor fighting over whos going to pay for it. One says its install issue other says its bad product. Both were true. finally around 3 they sent back the same installers to do the same job with the same product! I mentioned this to the job supervisor and he said not to worry. They would install it the way Floor and Decor told them to this time and if it came up, we would know it was bad product and not the install.Then Floor and Decor would have to pay to have it reinstalled.I was livid. I said no way was I going to have my floor done 3 times to prove a point and demanded that they test the product first. Almost out of space, so.. it took another month, alot of fighting and threats. Still installed wrong, but I was told if I didnt like the way they were doing it they would just leave. But it has stayed down this time. It has cost $1000 over budget and no apologies! Had to have molding installed around my cabinets to make look good again, & was denied reimbursement. read more

These guys couldn't keep any of the appointments we set. They didn't deliver the flooring supplies when scheduled. Went the installer arrived, he noticed that they didn't leave enough supplies needed to complete the job and had to go out and buy more. We also had planned for them to finish the carpet and baseboards. Neither scheduled time was kept. The baseboard/paint work turned out horrible. Even the manager, Rob, visited our house and noted how bad it looked. We were told we wouldn't be charged for it. However, I received an invoice showing a bill for the paint/baseboard work! After finally getting back in touch with someone we got the invoice corrected. The owner, Paul, doesn't call back, changes his story depending on who he's talking to, and completely lied when he told me that we wouldn't be charged for the crappy baseboard/paint work; that it was a "courtesy". Avoid these guys and save yourself a lot of re-scheduling, touch up work, and headache. read more
