Had a pretty good first visit. We both had their sandwiches and found them very tasty. The brie apple and mustard sandwich was a 11 out of 10. The veggies hummus sandwich was a 7 out of 10. When we went they were out of most things which was a let down. Also, wish there was more room to sit and enjoy your meal. read more

Stopped in yesterday for the first time and bought a piece of caramelized onion focaccia - divine!!! Had a sample of their raisin-walnut bread while browsing - also DELISH! Will absolutely be back to sample more. And have NO qualms about giving 5 stars after just one visit: the service was friendly and fast, everything looked amaaaazing and they even sell day olds buy-one-get-one-free! I was overly impressed on my first visit to Utica Bread. Great selection of bread, desserts, pastry. The baguettes are perfect. Croissants were some of the best I've had. Tea cake was also very yummy. You can tell quality ingredients are used. Can't wait to come back and try more! read more

Great bakery - comparable to any I've been to from NYC, Bean Town, or DC. My only complaint is the menu is fairly limited and they have such a small seating area - but the food is awesome. Try it! read more

The bread was good but I expected more. We stopped by for breakfast after seeing "breakfast" advertised on the window but were disappointed in the extremely limited menu with only a couple of options. We got the egg tart and oatmeal which were the only two choices I believe. They were both ok but we're not breakfast sized portions. I guess we were expecting breakfast sandwiches... Food quality is good, portions are small and prices are high. We probably won't be making it a point to go back anytime soon. read more

So good. Just so good. The brioche breakfast sandwich and the toast with (local) goat cheese and caramelized onion jam may contain crack, because they are addictive. The sourdough and multigrain breads are wonderful to take home and toast and/or use for French toast. read more

Introduced to Utica bread by way of the farmers market, we are now hooked. My husband says this is the best bread he's ever had and he insists on buying a loaf every week. I tried they're very unusual tomato pie at their farmers market booth and now I won't eat any other. It is truly addicting. Light and airy and buttery and savory... It is to die for. What a wonderful surprise to find a place like this in Utica. Their breads and soups are fantastic (soups can be a little on the salty side though). Perhaps a little too pricey (soup + side of bread and salad came to almost $15.00) but good food nevertheless. read more

Can't say I can identify with any of the negative reviews. We travel through Utica several times a year and this is on our "must stop" list. I had the oatmeal with walnuts, chia seeds and maple syrup. The menu is available online so I knew what came with the oatmeal. It was wonderful. My husband had the chocolate croissant, again wonderful. We took a baguette with us based on having one our visit before. Our bill was 11$ which is very reasonable I think. Utica Bread baked all the pies and Pasties for my sons wedding on August 5, of this year. They were DELICIOUS, we had 18 pies and four different varieties of pastries. Our wedding was a hour out of Utica and they delivered them for us, freshly baked that morning. I can not say enough about their customer service and quality of their product. I went to Utica Bread today expecting a much bigger selection of bread/pastries and breakfast items. They had five different loaf options and only two different bread pastries in their cabinet. I went pretty early so there was no reason for them to be out of everything. Nonetheless I bought the raisin walnut bread. It was good but nothing special. The prices are on the higher end and the product is just ok. I may attempt to make a trip back again to try some pastries but I do not plan on buying the bread again. read more

Delicious breads and easy to see when coming off Thruway. Getting to it is tricky based on traffic signs. But worth the effort. Sandwich was excellent. No unsweetened drinks but great coffee shop two doors down. Outdoor seating available with very urban pavement view and noisy. Some containers with flowers would go a long way to improving the atmosphere. read more

Pretty disappointing... I really hope this company decides to focus on quality bread vs trying to sell large scale. There are already so many commercial bakeries producing the same kind of bread. The bread is very "Price Chopper" and comes off bland and flavorless. The sandwiches are good but too pricey for sub par bread. read more

Stale bread on the front counter is a real turn off. Not much variety and what I had was not that great.

Came all the way from Syrcause and was pleasantly pleased at the quality of the food. I had a ham on baguette and it was awesome! Bread was outstanding. Service was excellent. Price was consistent with quality and service. read more
