When taking our new puppy there we heard all about the raw food diet and pills you could get through them - of course at a major markup. However, we were not advised about random Saturday closures and lied to about "free nail clippings" with every visit. More recently when we visited for a shot and asked the vet to take a one minute look at our puppies leg she didn't have time to feel it but just to observe her walking. Great service and a true animal lover right there! They also like to stagger shots that other vets give simultaneously to get more office visit money out of you. When told of our disappointment with it was suggested we find a new vet. Gladly! I wouldn't give this place another penny after the dishonesty and lack of caring over the past few weeks. Glad to find out now though before wasting any more money or trusting the care of our new family member with a business that is just out for money.

I walked in for the first time for my dog's appointment and all they needed to do was roll out the red carpet because the welcoming treatment here was on another level. I walked in, there weren't any people in the reception area and instantly one of the vet techs knew exactly who I had with me and was ready to show me to one of the exam rooms. I was like, is my dog secretly famous!??? Pup got a little puparazzi moment **eeeeeeeek**. Yes, here at PatterPaws they take their lil profile pic! Dr Proto was so down to earth and both him and the vet tech made my dog feel at ease. All dogs shake and get nervous when going to the vet (I feel like us humans do the same IRL with doctors we just shake inside HA!) but they totally made him be less stressed out than he should be. Also, they weren't scared to approach him (a little 7lb guy) they just confidently went in with calm and I've never seen my dog this chill at the vet before, almost zero yapping. Ok fine, maybe at the end he barked at another dog haha but he did pretty great! He got his **seamless** rabies shot and didn't even feel it or let out a little yelp like he usually does. Again, amazing Dr and vet tech. Pretty awesome tip: Dr Proto's wife, Dr Will, does a mix of western and eastern medicine and provides acupuncture to dogs, cats and horses. You can really tell the energy of this place by the workers and how they're happy to be there with the animal and to really take care of yours, no matter the size. Ok also, can we talk about the cookie bar (for doggies) with the different sizes of treats? OBSESSED. Thanks PatterPaws for your kindness, attention to detail, and wonderful staff! The prices are definitely higher than you would find at other discount and hardware stores, but you're also buying a better quality of seed. I'm not so certain, though, that the price of their suet packages - at least three times the cost elsewhere - is quite as justified. You'll also find here a better selection of bird houses, bird feeders (many of which are resistant to various types of pests) and perches. In the front of this particular store, they carried a line of Corinthian Bells wind chimes. The owner/manager is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and will be glad to assist and converse with you. It's worth checking out... just don't tell the squirrels.

A few days ago, I brought home a new feline into my home that already has two other cats…read more I adopted a sweet girl from this cat shelter. They are very concerned about the welfare of the cats- more so than I've ever seen, and I've adopted from several different ones over the past 30 years. They would rather keep them at the shelter than adopt them out to a questionable living arrangement. They do thorough background checks, phoning two non-family references and your current veterinarian and emphasize that if you ever have to part ways with your adopted cat for any reason, the cat needs to be brought back to them, not given away to someone else. The horrors that the staff are subjected to each year are the cause for their cautious adoption policies. They witness many cases of animal neglect, abuse, starvation, hoarding, abandonment and living conditions that would make most people vomit (hoarding houses with dead cats still in the house, overwhelming urine odors that make you want to gag, fecal matter all over the place, diseased cats, flea and tick infestations, etc.). They work with TNR (trap, neuter, release) organizations to humanely control and diminish huge feral cat communities that the public calls them to complain about. And many of the staff are volunteers! They are saints to the community and to the cats.

When their washing machine broke down, I took the cats linens and washed them at home. When they needed someone to paint the facility I did it without asking for a penny. When we were having a bad time they threw sand in our faces. The new management does not care much about the cats. The Board and the new management need to be removed!
