Love the various items produced by Utz. From their cheese balls to their caramel popcorn to "healthier" veggie stix, Utz make them all. They're not the highest quality, but the variety is unbeatable. I may or may not have had quite a few of the tiny bags of mini cheese balls that are given out to my kids during Halloween. I tell myself the cheese balls are small and so are the bags, so it's all good. Is it really all good though? I dunno, but I then get some veggie stix to balance things out and it's healthy again. The price points are good too. Utz chips and snacks are all less expensive than bigger national brands and sometimes even cheaper than store brands and they're all probably made from the several same factories anyway. All in all, I like Utz and all that they offer and hope to visit this factory store one day. But until then I'll be buying their yummy snacks at my local grocery stores. We visit this factory outlet store often, you can't beat the prices if you're looking to buy snacks. The only thing I will say is, they did change the room where they had the discount section, we preferred the way it had been prior to moving things around. We've also noticed on some of the party mix that you can buy in the tubs, it just doesn't taste the same to me as it once instead. I feel like everything in the tub taste the same. That is only my opinion. Again, as I said, if you do need snacks, this is the place to go, especially if you have a lot of children or need some snacks for a party or get together. One of the best factory stores around. You can walk out with a trunk full of snacks for under $20 easy. Full size bags of chips or pretzels for $1 or $2. Now you can't get every flavor that cheap, just look for the seconds section or the soon to be expired section. The expiration date on the bag is the shelf life date not the expiration date like they want you to think. Unopened bags of chips can last months past that date so don't hesitate to stock up. They have plenty of merch as well. Staff are always friendly and most days you get a nice freebie thrown in your bag at checkout. Utz will always be the chip King or should I say Queen! I could careless about the shape of the barrels. But, what did you do to the TASTE when you changed the Cheese Ball Barrels. The past couple I picked up are fine on the dates but they tasted like the cardboard on one of my school books back in the day. Crunchy and tasteless, didn't even have a couple with that packed on powder of cheese shake. These things are lousy now. Reminds me of coming out of the Acme with my Slim Jim after showing and couldn't wait to snap into it. I had to call. The factory tour and nearby factory outlet store are must-see items when in the Hanover area! We came over from Pittsburgh for a long weekend in central PA and this was one of our first stops. Our toddler aged sons really enjoyed the Utz Factory Tour, and then after the tour we took them to the Outlet store where they were able to pick out a few different items to try. Everything is at bargain prices and there is so much variety to choose from! Look forward to coming back next time we're passing through. read more

For the past 12 months I have been going to B J's once a month to buy a box of UTZ to take in my lunch bag. The boxes have multiple flavors of chips along with some pop corn, party mix and cheese curls. It's been an average of 5 bags that have burst at some point either in packing or shipping. Subsequently, leaving me with at least 5 bags of chips that are extremely stale and uneatable. This past month I bought a box of lays and none of the bags were open or stale. I always enjoy visiting true factory outlet stores when I come across one of them This one was no exception. After we did our tour of the Utz factory, we drove 2 blocks away to the outlet store. The store has 2 rooms. In one room, they sold T-shirts and huge tins with sports team logos on them. Also, there were some food products there. The idea is to buy a tin and have the staff fill it with all sorts of Utz goodies. The main room has a plethora of products with many I never saw before. Most have the Utz brand on them. Yet there are others that are from companies that are under the Utz umbrella. For example, they have Zapp's chips. Then there are the Utz items we never see in the supermarkets where we live. We bought a bag of Utz tortilla chips (which we never saw before). Next, I found a bag of mac & cheese puffs made by Snikiddy (which is also owned by Utz). Then we got some mundane Utz cheese popcorn. My husband didn't want us to go hog wild in the store---and he was right, we don't need to have too many guilty pleasure food items around the apartment---LOL! The staff here allows you to browse without hovering, which I like. When we went to pay for everything, the cashier noticed that the mac & cheese puffs had a price sticker on them that was wrong. She ended up lecturing another employee about being careful when it comes to which room each product belongs. If we're ever in the area again, I'm sure we'll stop in again. read more

I came to the Utz factory outlet store about two months ago. I pulled into the parking lot and entered the store with a mask on and grabbed a shopping cart. I first took a look around at what was available and then had my plan of attack. First plan was to grab a large case of 60 ct Jalapeno Dirty Chips for $3.00 and a case of Sea Salt and Black Pepper for $6.00, next I got a 2.5 lb case of Crab Chips, yes potato chips doused with Crab seasoning (think Old Bay) for $9.95, what a steal !!!. It's pretty much impossible for us to get on the factory tour as it's only offered Monday - Thursday: 9:30.a.m. - 4:00.p.m. And you don't come here just for the factory outlet store unless you live nearby or are passing by. Yesterday (a Saturday) after a good hike at the nearby Codorus State Park, we decided to at least check this place out since we were literally passing by on our way back. The place was very easy to locate. The exterior wasn't the least flattering, but the inside was put together nicely and I was very pleasantly surprised by the sheer varieties of snacks it carried. All I had known about Utz was potato chips. Now I learned that Utz is the largest privately owned snack brand in the US and carries over 90 flavors of snacks!!! And you can't find as many varieties of Utz snacks anywhere else under one roof besides here in Hanover! There was an area near the entrance where you can sample 5-6 different snacks. Today they were showcasing Guacachips (excellent), Salsitas (good), Snow Balls, and some pretzel sticks which I didn't care much about. Like other factory outlet stores, the prices seemed cheaper though not by much. That said, there were half a dozen kinds of snacks that were deeply discounted. For example, the Red Hot Potato Chips were on sale for $1.00 (reg. $2.79); No Salt Original Potato Chips for $1.50 (reg. $4.29); and the Original White Corn Tortillas for $1.00 (reg. 3.99). You guessed it right -- we grabbed a whole bunch of them and were now well stocked for movie nights!!! read more

What a bargain. They have everything produced by Utz. Great deals on multipacks...$1 cheddar popcorn in clear bags and many bags of chips/popcorn for $2-3. If I lived closer I would be here often which may not be a good thing for healthy eating, but overall you will save close to 50% of what Utz goes for in an average grocery store. read more

I live in Baltimore but a trip to this place is well worth it. They always have great deals on chocolate covered pretzels (just make sure to get the real chocolate, not chocolate flavored) and the big containers of Potato Sticks for only $2.50. In addition to Utz products they have lots of others like Zapps, Bachman, On the Border, Boulder Canyon and one of my favorites - Tom's Jalapeno Chips. This really is as good as it gets for a snack food distributor. They have everything from pretzels to chocolate coated pretzels to packs of pretzels to pretzel bites covered in Butterfinger bits.. Everything is in normal or large quantities for as little coin as I've ever seen them be. If you're in Gettysburg or the surrounding areas and like snack foods made the right way, make a little trip to the UTZ factory and have a blast! There's plenty of parking and I've uploaded pictures of the ACTUAL hours of the place and correct address since we've had issues finding out these things the last two times we came due to someone uploading the incorrect info. There are TWO locations, but only one factory outlet store and address. Also, if coming from Gettysburg, there's a Turkey Hill gas station on the left side near the plant that has some interesting things, notably flavors of ice cream I've never encountered before back home in VA. There is usually a 'wheel of fortune' type device that you can spin upon checkout that awards you little goodies, anything from maybe $5 off your current order to free bags of chips or things of that nature. Worth a shot, you always get something free! Last time they had a special 'find the doll' game where there was a stuffed doll somewhere in the establishment and if you could locate it, you got free snayuks. Suhweet! Our eyes are always ALWAYS larger than our stomachs are, and more often that not we spend $20 here. This is a great place. The only real problem is their prices. Some of them are higher for the same bag size as I can get in any store. It's at the manufacturer and too high. :( The best deals are the bulk bags of broken pieces. 8lbs. Of pretzels for $10 not bad, great for offices. We had a situation where they were out of a certain item. One of the girls were able to round up enough to make 2 boxes for us. All of their employees are super respectful and courteous. Tuesday is senior discount day and military gets discounts every day. We know what we want there and avoid the overpriced items. We love it. read more

If you like Utz products such as chips, pretzels, popcorn, etc. you will like this store. Their prices seem lower than what you would find at a supermarket, but since I live in Albany NY I am pretty much at the mercy of their distributor to see what is offered here. As such, visiting Hanover and the outlet store lets me find things I cannot get locally (unless I order through their catalog). They offer samples of many products, have lots more flavors than the usual plain or BBQ (perhaps PA supermarkets carry the exotic ones that we cannot get here?) and the staff is friendly. I like to stock up on chocolate covered pretzels to bring back to my coworkers. Oh, and I sampled a four-pretzel sample of Butter/Wheat/Sesame/Pumpernickel that was so good I had to order it factory direct and pay the shipping for as we cannot get it locally. GRRR. I feel like a real spud muffin walking into the Utz potato chip factory outlet. My favorite part is the bargain shelves where you can find clearance prices on items usually approaching expiration. Those bargains are so cheap, they make me want to twist like a pretzel. Some items do cost more than whet you might get when they're on sale at the supermarket, but other things are marked down or priced 2 for $x. There are some cute Utz themed trinkets in the right hand corner, some nice gift baskets & a variety of T-shirts. There's a lot of history at Utz. The variety of snacks at the outlet is excellent. Ever since Utz bought Bachman pretzels they have done a horrible job baking the pretzels and I am so sick of calling and complaining it's going on 4 years now .. how and why are the pretzels Not baked the way they use to be ?? The Utz factory store is actually a pretty cool place. They have tons of different type of chips I've never heard of, and even offered samples of some of the chips. The price points are really great as well. One thing I thought was cool was the "Hot Potato Chip Machine" that allows you to take a hot bag of Utz on the road with you.
