I enjoy stopping by here when I'm looking for a fun snack, something for a quick meal, or just something cool or unique to get for myself or my family. I love to come often and browse, and just see what they have. The place has changed a lot since when I first came. I do miss it having a bubble tea shop in the store.

Small store, tight parking lot. Lots of food choices from fresh produce to hot and fresh deli foods. Lots of self check out machines. Seemed clean for the most part. Lots of quick to go meals and snacks available both hot and cold, as well as being able to order to go for a more personalized choice. Wall full of little vending machines. Condiments, forks, napkins available as you walk out. Fun to explore. 3.5 overall

They have an anniversary sales going on. Stopped in for my usual raisin bread. But unfortunately they were out of the regular large bread that I always buy. Had to settle for a smaller loaf from the same company. Unfortunately doesn't taste as good but I had to settle.

Grew up with Uwajimaya when it was a small Japanese goods store in international district. Big fan , of every iteration of the store over the years . I rarely write reviews but had to take exception today because the pork "mixed bbq" package from the hot food take out section (see photo) was literally so terrible , inedible , that it is almost criminal to be selling this as a food product . It was only $7.34--and literally garbage. I have very eaten a lot of bbq pork in my life , so it isn't because I am not used to the fat/meat ratio. It's a criminal endeavor . 4 stars for the spam musubi and egg salad sando and other stuff I bought , and the store in general . Negative 10 for the mixed bbq pork . Straight into the trash .

    Disappointing flavor and COLD.

As much as I love shopping at Uwajimaya. The hot food was disappointing. The combo meal I got was pricey, but cold and underwhelming. I had high hopes from such a revered Seattle area institution.

The Asian supermarket is based in Seattle. Before heading to our hotel, we stopped for some snacks. There is prepared food available, including sushi and musubi. The place is spacious and clean. It was worth checking out!

Uwajimaya has a second patio with a brick fireplace around the corner from the prominent tables near the exit and trash bins.

Uwajimaya is an icon, and their store refresh earlier this year made the space subtly brighter and airier. Among grocers in Bellevue, they have the freshest produce, while keeping prices reasonable--or reasonably expensive, per your perspective. They also have the widest selections of miso and harder-to-find imports from Japan. The store also features two outdoor dining areas, one out front near the busy exit and another quieter space with a fireplace further around the corner and away from the trash teeming with wasps in autumn. Find under their hot-lights shelf mini-combo dishes for $9 or deli-made Spam musubi starting about $3, and enjoy hot food hot here.

Uwajimaya Bellevue is more than just a grocery store -- it is a cultural experience. Walking through the aisles feels like traveling across Asia. The snack section alone is worth the trip! The prepared foods and bakery items are always fresh and delicious. Clean, well run, and full of amazing finds every visit. This is one of my favorite places in all of Bellevue. Highly recommend to everyone!

Not sure I like the remodeled stores? Seems like more confusing to me and fewer variety of items to select from

Who puts cassava flour in tamago? Apparently Uwajimaya does. Even cheap poke places know not to do this

With T&T's opening, it seems that the pricing has improved to be more competitive. Particularly with the produce. They also have started posting weekly ads online of their specials to drive shopper awareness. Aside from the sales offerings, I still think the pricing on items seems a little higher than T&T and S-Mart. Shopping experience has improved a little as there are smaller crowds at the store because of the T&T effect. It was and still is a pain to check out as the line can be long. Wish they had self checkout. If you want a quicker shopping experience, shop here on weekdays and avoid coming in on weekends.
