This Kitchen & Market location is my favorite primarily because of the dining and seating area. I frequent this K&M location quite often in between office interactions and complete admin follow ups. Customer service is always excellent as the team at every K&M location I've been too are all really courteous. If you're stopping in for coffee or espresso do be mindful to not be in rush as each order is made to order (drip is available,) but there is usually only one attendant working in the barista. The additional perk is I can also purchase dinner for my family, and the chocolate chip cookies my kiddos love before heading home.

Another excellent Kitchen & Market. This one is larger than the other two (Medina & Madison Valley). Large parking lot, no trouble finding a spot at this location. Welcoming, clean & bright when you enter. Plenty of employees for any questions or to help you locate something. A DELI inside with seating. Anything that I have ever selected from here is always delicious. One of my new favorites is the Kitchen & Market scone mix. They offer regular and gluten free mixes. Anything you get here will be delicious. This location is really awesome. Less than a minute from 520 westbound entrance. This has made it very easy to visit multiple times since the location opened.

There's no mistaking this beautiful shop as a grocery store. While most grocery stores also offer many ready to eat options and meal kits, what Kitchen & Market offers is closer to restaurant quality dinners with at home convenience. Feel like eating Italian food but don't want to drag the whole family in traffic to Tavolàta? You can grab a container of Ethan Stowell's Bolognese sauce and fresh made pasta and cheese from the case. There are different packaged dinner kits that serve 3-4 that cover various cuisines. In the refrigerated case you'll find many different salads, overnight oats, chia puddings that aren't offered anywhere else. Also prepped food like spatchcock chicken or mainated chicken that are ready to go on the grill or in the oven. In their baking aisle i found their private labeled mix for scones and biscuits. I tend to bake from scratch most of the time but who can resist a delicious scone or biscuit that can come together in minutes? I will update this review after making what i brought home today... Stay tuned!

    Beautiful location!

The staff was very friendly and helpful in finding the chocolate that I wanted. When purchasing, the sizes are much larger than I was expecting, so note that you would be buying a sizable amount of chocolate when you purchase! They also have some truffles/ganache chocolates in the window and while I was leaving noticed maybe they also make drinks? If I have a chocolate craving while walking around downtown Kirkland again, I would stop by.

The sign outside states they source their chocolate from Peru, which immediately intrigued me. I recently tried a single origin Valrhona chocolate from Peru, which I did not enjoy. I found the Illanka to be musty, almost like wet hair, making it quite unpleasant to eat. A local chocolate shop going bean-to-bar was an excellent chance to give the cocoa beans from this country another try. Fortunato offers chocolate they advertise as being from the world's rarest cocoa tree - from the original Nacional cacao strain, which was thought to be extinct until the founders did genetic testing on some trees in Peru in 2009*. Interesting story, but is the chocolate any good? 68% Dark Chocolate Mini Squares 7oz Bag ($12.99) - This is clearly high quality chocolate given that no emulsifiers are in the ingredient list. I tastes a bit tannic, like wine, to start which then goes to a sweet dried red fruit finish. It has a good snappy quality, but there's a bit of a chalky consistency probably due to lack of emulsifier. One piece had a tiny shell-like crunchy bit inside, perhaps contamination from cocoa husk? I only found this in a single square, so I'm not entirely sure what it is. (4/5) Unlike other bean to bar manufacturers in and around Seattle, I hadn't heard of Fortunado before and ended up doing some more research. Apparently until 2020, the chocolate was only available for purchase via wholesale to restaurant and chocolatiers. They only launched their retail shop for regular consumers in 2021. The chocolate Fortunado sells is similar in price to other high quality bean-to-bar manufacturers around the area. I found the chocolate to be a little too chalky for my tastes, so I wonder if it's better to be used in baking or in confections. *Note: Another brand, To'ak, which I had actually heard of before, seems to have made a similar discovery of Nacional in Ecuador sometime after 2013. To'ak has way better marketing that makes it seem like they revived the Nacional cocoa.

We love to eat family style, so it was nice to sample a wide range. My daughter loves the carbonara. The mushroom and truffle oil with spaghetti could have been more truffle-y. The porchetta sandwich had good flavors with the crispy focaccia, tender porchetta and marinated eggplant. Pasta is cooked al dente. If you want the pasta cooked longer, let them know. I swung by on a Saturday night with some friends after 8PM and the store was pretty empty, but it sounds like they might have stopped doing open seating recently. Carbonara (4.5/5): Definitely the best of their pasta options. Super crunchy bits of guanciale with a super creamy, cheesy sauce. Thick and satisfying, especially with their bucatini if that's available. Polpette and Ragu (3.75/5): Tried these a couple times and they aren't bad, but don't blow my mind. The creamier options are just much richer and the tomato sauces are just a bit standard. Porchetta Sandwich (2/5): The sandwich is not good. Stick to the pasta. The fillings were cold, which was surprising, and while I actually quite liked the eggplant and green chimichurri-esque sauce, the focaccia is a crime. Insanely dry and not fluffy. Tiramisu (4.25/5): Actually, super delicious and comes in an adorable little mug. Not overly sweet, great light cream and melt in your mouth sponge, with a great balance of flavors.

Everything looked beautiful and tasted just as good as it looked. I tried the toffee, salted caramel, honey lavender, oatmeal snickerdoodle, and strawberry rhubarb macarons. The salted caramel and toffee flavors were rich and indulgent, and the oatmeal snickerdoodle tasted warm and cozy with a cinnamon sugar flavor that stood out from the others. One of my absolute favorites is Ding Dong (a chocolate-forward flavor that's rich and nostalgic, like an elevated version of a childhood treat). I also love the chocolate mint for something refreshing, and the oatmeal flavor has this cozy, comforting vibe that pairs perfectly with tea or coffee. They consistently nail the texture: lightly crisp on the outside with a soft, chewy center. I also really appreciate that there's indoor seating. The last time I went, my parents were visiting, and we sat inside sipping tea and chatting. It felt warm, cozy, and just really sweet. It's not just a grab-and-go dessert spot, it's somewhere you can linger. And every time I've gone, the women working there have been genuinely friendly and welcoming. That consistency makes such a difference. Such a cute little gem in Totem Lake. Perfect for gifting or a small afternoon treat!
