We went last Saturday for steak night knowing exactly what the biz model was and the location. Wow, outstanding 10oz tenderloin. We eat out at white table cloth steak dinners a couple of times a month anywhere from LA to Miami to NYC wherever our travels take us. This steak was on par with any of those, just blown away how perfectly seasoned and cooked (rare) it was. The razor clam pappardelle was OUTSTANDING. Do not miss this. When we get back I will order both to share with table if available. Great mashed and veggies too. The salad was very good and I am told smaller for steak night. No issue here, perfect portion imo. We had V&V cater a couples shower. They were amazing! Incredible service... owner and team were professional & friendly. ALL our guests raved about the food which was a pasta bar. Several guests commented that it was the best gluten free pasta they have ever had. Their team went above and beyond from start to finish. Great charcuterie boards to start, fresh gluten free pasta with gluten free toppings, and they even went around to clean up dirty plates and cups from the tables. There's so much to say about V&V Scratch Kitchen. First of all, this place is known for their sandwiches & pizza & daily changing menu. Every Saturday night, they have a 6 to 8 course chef's table, where the chef gets to experiment with different flavors. I brought a group of 10 to the restaurant, and the service was impeccable. We had 2 waiters for our table alone and everything came out quickly and well paced! The waiters were knowledgeable about the courses or made sure to find out more information if we had any questions. The menu was different and inventive. This chef's table is a great way to experiment with new flavors without ordering an entire meal. I loved everything from start to finish, and it was so unique and unexpected! I never would have found this place on my own. Nestled is a small town amongst a few local industries. Good enough that word of mouth keeps it very busy. Huge double burgers with their own homemade potato chips (or fries), stone oven real Italian style pizzas, etc. Weekends they are reservation only and serve multi course meals (like in a restaurant in Italy). Nearly everything is made from scratch right in the restaurant. Generous portions and quite reasonably priced meals. read more

Thrilled that there's a new place to eat nearby with fresh and interesting options. We stopped in for dinner/ started with the housemade chips and mozzarella wedgies and kept it light with the beef and vegetables soup and the beet and goat cheese salad. Saw this on Pittsburgh Today diner week so we thought we would give it a try, it was a bit of a hike for us but well worth the drive. I had the steak and cheese sandwich, shaved ribeye with provolone, sauteed onion, lettuce, tomato, mayo with chips and another member of our group had the Spinach, tomato and feta pizza, ( photos of both are included here). Another person had the Vincent burger, and another had the chicken tenders, all the food was great, large portions and the best homemade chips I've had anywhere. From the menu and a few photos I saw I thought the inside would be fancier but it's really a casual place, definitely nothing fancy as even the walls are pretty marked up but the man at register was nice, lots of enticing food options! Ordered the lobster roll but didn't know for $29 they meant a baby-sized roll...pretty good but anywhere I've been always serves it more as a sub roll rather than a little bun, for equal or less the price. We attended a chef's table, $100 per person and BYOB (we didn't bring anything, but the lady at the table next to us offered me a glass of red wine, since neither of our husbands imbibe). They close the place down on a Saturday night just for this ~2-hour experience. We met a woman walking in who said it was her 14th! It's a nice experience, whether you're a foodie who wants elevated cuisine or looking for a date night. I did find that the savory dishes tended to be saltier than I would have liked, but all in all, it was worth the drive. I've been here on two occasions with my wife and friends . Each time the food has been great. You walk up to a counter for your order then staff brings your food to your table. I had a steak which was great. My wife had chicken, which is also excellent . Highly recommended the restaurant is family, friendly, and has table seating . Though V&V has a regular menu, it's the specials that I found most interesting. During this visit we enjoyed the fish tacos made with Amberjack. The meal came with four tacos in crunchy shells with fresh toppings like mango and pickled onions for $14. What a great deal! And, they were delicious! We also enjoyed the Vincent burger, which was huge. We selected the waffle fries as the side. Service was outstanding, with very happy staff taking our order at the counter and then popping by to ensure we were enjoying our food and filling our water and iced tea glasses. While we didn't get dessert, they had large yummy looking cookies on display. They also had daily dessert specials on the board. The dining rooms are bright and naturally lit with lots of windows. The kitchen is somewhat open, so you can feel the productive vibes as the food is being prepared. It appears that you can bring your own bottle, as a group of ladies were enjoying wine they had brought. I didn't see any alcohol on the menu. We dined early, around 4:45 pm, but it got busy starting at 5 pm, so we recommend going early. read more

The LOBSTER ROLL IS EVERYTHING! Tried V&V Scratch kitchen for the first time last night with some girlfriends and it was really great! I got the lobster roll and the large chunks of lobster meat were cooked perfectly, nicely buttered and served on a really yummy buttered roll. The waffle fries and house salad that come with it were great! My two friends ordered the Vivien and enjoyed their chicken sandwiches as well. Couple thing to note: they are reservation only on Saturday, you can order at the counter to go or dine-in, and most importantly they are BYOB (with no cork fee!) We just did the Chef's table for our second time and this place is legit one of the best restaurants. They are extremely accommodating as we let them know ahead of time that my husband has aversions to seafood and mushrooms. Service is attentive and pleasant. Each dish was incredible. I ordered takeout from V&V for the first time and was thoroughly impressed! The crab cake sandwich was so flavorful and filling. The slaw on the sandwich was a great touch for a change in texture. The sandwich and bun were rather large, I somewhat regret not saving half for later, but how could I stop when it looks this delicious??! The waffle fries were bountiful, needed a little more salt in my opinion but dangerously, deliciously addictive!! Every staff member I encountered was very welcoming and friendly. I would love to dine in soon, but the lack of weekend evening hours make it a bit difficult. My coworker and I ordered takeout from here last week. I have been wanting to try this place for so long, and we were so satisfied! We both had the the lobster roll with chips and it came with a delicious house salad as well. I loved the corn and pickled onions on the salad, it was a nice touch. The house chips were crispy and had a nice seasoning on them which I was pleasantly surprised by. Now for the lobster roll- this thing was the REAL DEAL. Big chunks of fresh lobster in butter. I'm a HUGE lobster roll fan, but I only like them warm and without mayo which can be hard to find. This one knocked my socks off! The bun was warm and delicious too, much better than the typical lobster roll buns I've had elsewhere. The price is a bit high; it was $65 (including a $5 tip) for just the two lobster rolls to go. I know food prices are through the roof right now, especially seafood, so it's understandable. I am happy to pay for such a great quality sandwich- felt like I was in New England! The food was average. It's not something to brag about. Do I recommend it I would not go and say to somebody to go there if you were hungry no there's all the places better than that. The service is simple. I had several items from there. I tried their pizza very basic. Their wings very dry with no sauce they're Reuben not a lot of meat and then then it had no ties on island. The server did not come round and ask if anyone wanted water we needed to ask for it the time we went there it was not busy the fundamentals of the place the gentleman that was there. Ask us if everything was OK and we said it was OK for the location I think it's a great place like I said we end the location and the restaurants around. I think it's a great place. If there was other restaurants, I think they will not do well my experience as a chef may be that's the reason I expect more. I think if they step up in the kitchen a little bit better. They'll do a lot better. That's my opinion but then again I'm only one person. read more

Heard and read all the hype about this place! Had to make the journey to try for myself! Well done it did not disappoint! I had the special of the day for lunch: sweet corn and sausage chowder! It was amazing and delicious couldn't even get a picture! Then I tried the grouper tacos, so many different flavors in every bite! The beautifully cooked grouper, the pickled red onions (which I make too and put on everything), and all of her other flavor packed foods packed into that crunchy taco shell! Juicy, tender brisket, a yummy horseradish sauce, pickles, cucumber, and tomato, on a grilled panini. It was excellent! A side of crunchy waffle fries, made for a great lunch. Family got the V and V chicken sandwich. Grilled chicken breast, Muenster, cucumber, tomato, avocado, on a fresh bun, with house sauce. Mom loved it. First time here, but not the last. Do not recommend for take out. I have heard great things about the place and honestly had a very good FIRST experience, however my SECOND experience with V&V was absolutely disappointing and frustrating. I intended on ordering pizza to-go for dinner today, however they shared that they don't do pizza on Mondays. So, I spoke with the gentleman there who talked me into getting sandwiches to-go and assured me they'd put everything on the side and that the food we chose would reheat well. We ordered and went home anticipating a good meal! Well, after 30+ mins home, I was unpacking the bags to put the food in the fridge and realized everything was stuffed into 1 container- the fries and sandwich buns soggy from the toppings being shoved in the same container. The food looked so unappealing and felt wet. I called the restaurant back and it just aggravated me even more. I was offered a replacement, but being over 30 mins away that wasn't an option for me and honestly a waste of my time. Other than that, the FOH Mgr didn't seem to care about the poor service and quality of food we were provided, just brushing me off. So disappointing. So here I am writing a review, in hopes to help someone else out. Don't order take out from here! They apparently don't know how to package their foods for a good to-go experience. read more

I've been wanting to come here for several years now. V&V is located in a plaza, and is a nice addition to the area (not many places to eat around here). I have mixed feelings about our experience, starting with the menu. I'm a vegetarian and haven't eaten chicken for about six years but for some reason, I went with the "Vivian" which was a California style chicken sandwich. The sandwich itself was ok, but I would. Have hoped for a little more for the $15 price point. The homemade chips were very good, I liked the seasoning used on them. My husband ordered the burger, (other v) word. It was really, really good. I will say that we both weren't super happy with the tiny fries that was kind of a disappointment, as well as the pickle which was seemingly fresh but took our breath away with the taste of vinegar. We of course had to try dessert, which I had such high hopes for! We had a loaded brownie for $5 and although some of the brownie was good, the edges were all extremely hard and chewy. Ultimately, this seems like a nice addition to the area and I'm glad we had a chance to try it. We would come back, but would plan to order other menu items. Well worth the $15 price tag. My wife had the crab cake sandwich. Lump crabmeat, just enough breading to hold it together. BYOB...didn't know that. Some people had mentioned to us that it was a little pricey. I didn't feel that because the quality of the food made price not so important. We'll definitely go back. Honestly didn't care for the wait in line to order them have a seat thing... but not my business to run. I got the lobster roll... definitely a lot of meat! I adore V&V on any given day, so I was extremely excited to have gotten a reservation for one of their Chef's Tables back in January (very late with the review, sorry!). I cannot say enough good things about it. Every course is so diverse, makes sense with the next, and each one is so carefully thought out and perfectly executed. The V&V team is extremely accommodating also! They follow up timely to make sure my party was set, or had any dietary restrictions. One of my friends is working on being a more adventurous eater and the seafood made her nervous. V&V created a custom menu for her that was similar to everyone else's, and it allowed her to still step out of her comfort zone and really enjoy the dinner. And for me who doesn't like chocolate (I know, I know) they had a non-chocolate dessert that was amazing and I am still salivating about to this day.
