Ate there yesterday with 2 friends and it was supposed to be a Birthday dinner for my one friend. When she saw the prices she refused to order dinner. Instead she ordered provolone sticks and an iced tea. The provolone was not homemade, it was a frozen product that was a solid stick of provolone with breading, not of that ooey gooey delish cheese but a frozen brick. The price for this mess was over $17. The rest of their menu may be worth the ridiculous prices but they won't be seeing us again. read more

I'm glad I gave Armstrongs another chance for lunch. It was a whole new experience. The lighting was brighter, last time it was dark, I felt like I was in a cave. Although it is a bit pricey, I spent $25 for a cup of soup and 4 fried cheese raviolis. But, the wedding soup was one of the best I've had, I go back just for that. The toasted raviolis were very large and came with a hot tasty marina sauce. I couldn't finish the raviolis and took half the order home which I ate for dinner. My friends recommended their buffalo chicken calzone. I went to look at their menu online but they don't appear to have an official one and it does not list a buffalo chicken calzone. However, I called and asked if they still offer it and they do and let me tell you it's VERY good (even though it didn't come with a side of blue cheese nor ranch which is typical for most places I have had in the past). Anyway, it had grilled chicken and cheese oozing out of it and was cooked well. My boyfriend got the eggplant parm sandwich and said it was good also, and he can be picky. We went to eat at the moon location inside. The service was good. The mushroom crab appetizer was good. The place was clean, but the other food was underwhelming and tasteless. My date had the angel hair, crab, vodka, sauce, dish, and there must've been 3 pounds of pasta in this humongous bowl. The portions were obscene! I had a basic salad with steak. Do not EVER come to this GROSS, DISGUSTING, HORRIFIC place they call a "restaurant". Let's do a food review shall we? My husband and I got the following: Chicken wings: -100000000/10; SO tiny, dry, flavorless. Ordered 12 wings and got served what you see in the picture for $22!!!!!!!. "Cajun" dry rub is just steak fry seasoning not legit cajun flavor. The wet "cajun" if I were to describe it tastes like buffalo sauce that had way too much vinegar in it mixed with a crap ton of butter and a dash of ranch. The bbq sauce is also heavily vinegary. Fried zucchini: 3/10; soggy, undercooked, not seasoned at all, no parmigiana, nothing. Marinara sauce is jarred. French fries: -50/10; DRY, DRY, DRY and yet, floppy and soggy. How tf does that even happen???? NASTY. Chicken parm: 2/10; bun is soggy, chicken was undercooked, marinara jarred. Not good. Basic salad: 4/10; literally was 80% raw red onion, two olives, few pieces of lettuce, a single crouton. Edible and best thing I ate, but still not good. Overall, we spent $55 on this trash. The chicken parm is so good - opt for the dinner size (only .95 more than the smaller portion) as it comes with a huge side salad and an extra piece of chicken (3 total!). Comes with a side of your choice - I typically order the pasta because I can't get enough of their sauce. My husband ordered the Italian hoagie supreme that had a little too many peppers for his liking - and he loves peppers. He just thought it was a little overwhelming for the sandwich itself. I got the raviolis as my entree and they were good, however my fiancé got the eggplant parm and it was not good at all. Finally had the chance to stop in since they reopened dine-in. Just not the same. Wife said the wedding soup was delicious. Zucchini app has zero flavor as well as the horseradish sauce that accompanied it. Stuffed banana peppers were good but no heat whatsoever. My hot roast beef sandwich was very good but a little on the salty side. My wife had the turkey club that she said was very good and it was huge. Our waitress was wonderful, the maitre d staff wouldn't even acknowledge my wife's "goodnight" as we left. They seemed as though we were bothering them when we got there too. If these are going to be the first faces you see when you arrive, they should be a little more pleasant. WE have not been to Armstrong's for a while and decided to stop today. Boy were we surprised !! The quality of the food have hit rock bottom. We both got the Meatloaf special. How bad can you screw up meatloaf !!!!. The meatloaf was "soft" like eating wet bread. I would not even stay on the fork. Had to scoop it up to eat it. The brown Gravy was so salty that it had to come from a can. I could not imagine a cook that would make it to that flavor. My wife did not finish hers and most of it was on the table when the waiter came by. He never even asked if there was something wrong but was sure to ask if we wanted desert. The waiter never came back, after serving the food, to check if we needed a drink refill etc. After this visit I think that it will be a while before we ever go back. read more

Our server was very pleasant and attentive. However, we were dining with my mother in law who has Celiac and we asked the person who greeted us when we entered if the restaurant had a gluten free menu. She stated that virtually everything on the menu can be prepared gluten free. When greeted by our server we learned that this was absolutely not the case and should never have been told this. Food - Just OK. The menu is very large and varied. I had the meatloaf special with mashed potatoes and corn. The meatloaf was huge, but was nothing special. We arrived for dinner on a Thursday night and found it not very busy. I asked at the front desk if they had a gluten free menu and they said that all items could be made gluten free. Our server got our drinks quickly and then when it came time to order, we learned that what they told us wasn't true. The only item that was gluten free was the salmon and they didn't make things gluten free. Super disappointing for the member of our party. I wanted to leave, but they didn't want to make a scene. The staff needs to be better trained. I got the baked ziti with a side salad. The salad was large and had things other than just lettuce. The ziti was nice and hot and tasted good. We have ordered takeout every Friday from Armstrongs since the seated restaurant closed for COVID. Now that they have reopened 3-4 years later, they no longer will take our order even if we come to the counter to order. We remained loyal customers throughout their shutdown to show our support and find it quite insulting that we no longer are appreciated. They abandoned their loyal takeout customer base by reopening up while understaffed and unprepared. We can take our business elsewhere and will no longer support this establishment. I'll start by saying the portion of anything I've ever ordered at Armstrong's has been enormous. They didn't disappoint on portion size at all, in fact I ordered the mushroom "steak" hoagie, it was large enough to feed two. I will say the bun was mushy and unlike others who reviewed it neither of ours tasted like steak but more like roast beef. Now roast beef hoagies are fine if that's what I'm ordering and when I want one I go to Arby's where I can get them 2 for $5 not $12. Lessons learned by me, next time I'll ask if it's steak or roast beef and order accordingly. I also feel restaurants need to be more transparent in what they serve. read more

My Husband and I have been going to Armstrongs for years. The most important thing about them is that they were "always" consistent. You never had to wonder if what you were getting would be as good as the last time; you just knew. We stopped today to get Italian hoagies which are excellent. When we got home and started eating we both looked at each other and said something was missing. It wasn't an italian hoagie, it was a salami sandwich and you could tell right away all the delicious italian meats were missing. We paid $15 each for a 3 piece salami sandwich (piled with lettuce and tomatoe to make it look big.) I know there was a listeria problem with certain lunch meats but let the customer know so they can decide if they still want it. I hope it isn't a sign of the times; everything is going downhill. read more
