I loved the way the new owners changed the inside up a bit. The bar said features high tables, big screen Tvs and spacious patio. The other side looked like it was multipurpose for dinner or events. They have a jukebox which I thought was cool. Service: Was trash the waitress take a long time to take our order. We were sure to order everything we wanted for fear she wouldn't come back. However she was nice but appeared overwhelmed as it was 3 waitress but the stayed behind the bar making drinks the majority of the time. Food: Typical bar food wasn't nothing to right home about. We had a little of everything pIzza, wings, shrimo, eggrolls and chili fries... my favorite were the boneless wings, egg rolls and chili fries chili taste like it was out the can but it was cool. Drinks: were good, definitely gone get a buzz off the 1st one. Around 9:30p the atmosphere changed, regular security turned into armed security. Scantily Clad host/ bartenders appeared out of know where. Upon leaving my husband asked what was going on. From 9p-2a it turns into a club.

I asked the bartender and instead of giving me a menu she just said someone would bring one. Waited another 5 mins and nothing so we left. Don't waste your time and money here. You're better off getting drinks for cheaper and better customer service at the underground bowling alley. Way better.

That's how we wound up at Schooners today. Food: Super large portions. Not many healthy choices. We ordered the fried zucchini. It had a nice seasoning but it was too greasy. The caprese salad with vinaigrette was soggy and beyond disappointing. Figured that was the healthiest choice on the menu. I couldn't eat more than 2 bites. The loaded baked potato was swimming in melted butter. A lot of butter. The bacon was actually the star of the plate. This place is where you come to share several plates. Service: Great. Jamie T. was our server. She was super friendly and had such an upbeat personality. She checked back with us several times to make sure things were going well. Ambiance: Typical sports bar scene with big screen TV's on the walls. Plenty of parking.

Upon entering, a bouncer seated a few feet away aggressively called out to us. Although several other guests were entering at the exact same time, he singled us out to distribute wristbands. He did not check IDs, nor did he request wristbands from any of the other parties entering the venue. While seated, I observed numerous groups walk in without being stopped or questioned. When I asked our server why selective entry rules were being enforced, she simply acknowledged that he "only asks certain people." This inconsistent enforcement made us feel singled out and unwelcome. As long-standing customers, we expect fair and professional treatment for all patrons, and this experience fell far short of that standard.

He loved the chips and salsa, though I thought they were just ok. I tend to like my salsa really spicy. We ordered chilaquiles with green salsa and a burrito. The chilaquiles weren't bad but came out a little bland for my taste. What saved the dish for me were the chiles toreados, which were seriously spicy and made all the difference. My husband enjoyed his burrito and had no complaints. We also worked our way through the cocktail menu; he got the peach margarita, I had the Mexican Candy, and we shared a watermelon margarita afterward. All three were excellent. Our waiter was wonderful and the rest of the staff were warm and attentive throughout. The atmosphere felt slightly stuffy, though not unpleasant. We came during their less busy hours, which worked in our favor since smaller spaces tend to get loud. I also learned they have live music, so we may come back another time to catch that.

There were 30ish hot pans full of different food options. From fresh ceviche, made to order eggs or omelets. I had the pozole and asked for an Omelette with ham and bacon and I topped it off with green chili pork, wow everything was amazing and hot. I went back 4 times to attempt to try a bit of everything but that was impossible with so many options. We had bottomless Champaign or Mimosas, I also tried the Camarones a la Diabla, they were amazing, good sized shrimp with onion and Jalapeños, they had a nice kick. I snuck in some flan. We had a party of 6, they had plenty of seating options, the staff was quick to refill our drinks and even provided a spicy salsa on request. The cost on a non 50% off day is around 35.00 each, we went on a Sunday, well worth all of the amazing food and drinks. I cannot recall the two days they offer a 50% brunch discount but they were two week days. The food qualify was high, I would highly recommend the brunch.
