There's a lot of pizza vareity in gainesville and v pizza gets brought up from time to time so we figured we'd stop by a couple days ago. The pizza we ordered came out fine, a crispy blackened wood oven pizza with a bold flavor. But this review is about our service experience. Lanee was perhaps the rudest server i have ever encountered and told our table to "bet" while we waited 10 mins for her return. After which she took our order, brought our pizza out and never returned until it was time to take our money. I have never written a review on here but that whole experience surprised me to such a degree that i felt an obligation to do so. read more

Holy crap! This was delicious! We had the pepperoni pizza and can honestly say it was the best pizza we'd ever had. We also enjoyed the cheesecake as well! It's a little lighter than your typical cheesecake, which we loved! We even came in 30 minutes before closing and they were so kind and still provided good food and service. I will definitely be returning and would recommend this place to everyone! read more

Haven't had the pizza yet because I can't bring myself to not eat the hot wings. The Calabrian wings are absolutely spectacular. Their dressing/dip could be better, but honestly these are the best wings in town hands-down. The wings alone are worth the drive to downtown. Very expensive for what you get. The bruschetta is $9, and its not even close to being bruschetta. They just gave us pizza dough without anything on it plus some chopped tomatoes on the side. The pizza we got was super salty, to the extent that we couldn't even eat half of it. The atmosphere sucks too. Hard pass. Edit for owner: Bruschetta is made out of a thin loaf of bread, sliced and grilled, with toppings on top, often tomatoes and olive oil. What we got was 6 pieces of soft, stale, leftover pizza dough for $9! What a ripoff. read more

My friends recommended this spot to me while I'm in town for a few days, so I thought I'd give it a try and very happy I did! Kayla was my server and did a beautiful job helping me with the menu. She suggested the Pizza Napoli, which was delicious. Great drinks from the bar as well. All in all, a wonderful experience. I'll be back very soon. read more

Was visiting the area for work and absolutely loved having this place as a staple for lunch personal sized pizzas. Only down- side is that they don't serve the personal size for dinner hours. Wide variety of curated special pizzas. Pizzas cook nicely in their wood fired ovens. My present favorite is the Hawaiian. read more

Just moved here and heard great things about this place so wanted to check it out myself. I ordered the Cryin' Hawaiian wings and they were delicious. Perfect flavor of spicy and sweetness from the pineapple on top. Also had some cocktails from the bar that my server Kayla recommended from their new menu based off the show Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia. The flyin Hawaiian is incredible! Probably the best Hawaiian pizza I've ever had in my entire life! The down side is that the pizza only come in one size and is pretty expensive which reflects the quality of ingredients. The food was great. Started out with their wood oven roasted wings, which were meaty and flavorful (didn't need any dipping sauce really), and the number of wings they give you is good - I believe about 10 or 11 wings. Pizzas are baked well done, how I like them, and delicious. The Pizza Piccante was good, without being too spicy as to not enjoy the flavor. I do think they're a tad over priced but it might be because they import ingredients from Italy. read more

Have to say after stumbling onto their Facebook page I became real intrigued with the story behind this place. Up in Gainesville for work and seeing how my nephew is going to UF asked him and his girlfriend to join me for dinner here a few days ago. Was a little wondering if they would want to join being they had chain pizza delivered last night for dinner and my nephew said "I WANG TO TRY V's". Went tonight had the bruschetta(sweet and savory) as an app... his girlfriend had the meatball panini (looked amazing) and we had the chicken wing pizza.... all I can say is WOW!!! Service was great had multiple people check on us for feedback which is awesome for a restaurant to do in my opinion.... so excited to be here four more days and a few days each the rest of the month as I can't wait to go try more of the menus items!! read more

I went there to celebrate an anniversary with my girlfriend. We ordered a pizza Paolo, meatballs, and even tried the grilled wings and tiramisu. All of the food was fantastic. The wings may be the best I've ever had. The pizza was fresh, and the meatballs were tasty. The sauce that they made for the meatballs was vibrant and flavorful. You can taste the fresh tomatoes and see garlic chunks just floating. Besides the amazing food, the service was second to none. We had a great waitress who was very friendly and checked up on us regularly. Even the manager, Thomas, stopped by and wished us a happy anniversary. The passion he has for his job was obvious. Overall, take your family, take your kids, go by yourself, whatever. The food is great. The service is outstanding. What more can you ask for? read more

I have never had the pizza from V pizza but have had a great variety of drinks and beers and some yummy cannolis for desert. The drink menu was a little hard for me to understand but the The bartender was really great when we went for my boyfriend's birthday and made us specialty drinks. The atmosphere is really cool and people are friendly. I'm not sure that I'll ever try to pizza because I enjoy just going to sit at the bar and grab a drink. read more

We came by late on frigid Saturday night and it definitely hit the spot after drinking several beers. We ordered a Margherita pizza and Mac&Cheese. The pizza was a perfect combination of dough, sauce, and cheese coming together in a wood oven pizza. I've had a lot of pizza around the US and this was definitely up there. The mac and cheese came in a cast iron skillet and it was also delicious. The waiter was chatty but it seemed he may have been tired or distracted as he brought us Peroni when we ordered Stella. My wife and I had dinner here on Friday night. We have heard the rave reviews of the wings and wanted to try them out for ourselves. Our server was a young lady who was a bit slow and seemed overwhelmed. She had a very difficult time keeping up with drinks and other essential items and we were left with empty glasses for long periods of time. We ordered the Calabrian Wings to start. The wings arrived very quickly at our table, almost to quickly which made me believe they are pre-cooked. Once they arrived the wings were covered in the Calabrian paste, honestly it was over kill and all you could taste was this paste. The wings were Luke warm just as I suspected pre-cooked or they had been sent back. The wings were small and had a large amount of fat on them and lack any kind of crispiness. They were very soggy and not very good. We requested ranch dressing with our wings and had to ask two people in order to get the ranch we requested. We were also missing plates and eating utensils. A real disappointment to start off. My wife and I shared a pizza. The pizza was tasty and pizza sauce was flavorful and had a great taste. The pizza was cooked nicely but did seemed a bit over cooked with burnt spots on the crust. The amount of toppings and cheese left a much to be desired. There were large spots on the pizza where just tomato sauce was showing. I do not mind paying for a good pizza but I at least want what I pay for. Paying over $20 for a pizza and getting one with little to no toppings was a huge disappointment especially with the minimal cheese found on our pizza. Gainesville has some amazing restaurants for pizza and wings at much better prices and adequate parking. V pizza offered nothing special and their pizza reminded me of the pizza at blaze. There are too many great pizza and wing places in Gainesville to fight with downtown parking, the overpriced pizza and mediocre wings. read more

I was really excited to try this place on the advice of a friend, ordered a small pie to go and got there within 15 minutes and this was on a Sunday afternoon , there was one waitress on staff attending to the dining room it took forever before anyone asked if they could help finally got my pizza, but by this time it was cold and the cheese was very sparse....and not to mention overpriced. I like the energy and eclectic environment of this establishment. The menu was a little intimidating being a first timer and all. I didn't know what I was doing but the waitress (Katelyn) helped me pull it all together. I ordered everything I wanted to and didn't hold back. My daughter and I enjoyed every bit of it from the cocktails to the root beer float. Trust me when I say everything in between was delicious. I had a 'real' garden salad with cucumbers and it was crisp and delicious, the wings with all of the herbs and spices were tasty and the pizza made with all natural ingredients exceeded my expectations. The yellow and orange cherry tomatoes on the pizza looked and tasted luxurious. It's safe to say that I over indulged but I couldn't help myself. I will bring my husband with me the next time. Have been going to V Pizza at the Gainesville location since it opened and have never been disappointed. Their bar staff are extremely friendly and management goes out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. Their standard and house cocktails are well crafted and they have a competitive happy hour, that while a few dollars more than some places, includes their entire classic cocktail menu (25 drinks) rather than the 5-6 at other bars. Sunday happy hour runs all day. Their pizza is well made and has a lot of variety. Our favorite tends to be the carnivora, which is a menagerie of Italian meats and red onion. They offer a cheaper lunch sized portion, which is great for those working in the governmental buildings downtown. Their portions are more than enough for two people to share. We love the wood-fired wings, and if in the mood for LOTS of food we will order both wings and a pizza. In addition to the food and drink, the atmosphere is good, with a large inviting bar with TVs for game day, while there are TV throughout the restaurant, they are not in your face and easy to ignore if you want a more intimate setting. They offer weekly trivia with Trivia Nation on Thursdays which is lots of fun. They have an attached event space next to the restaurant and are more than willing to work with nearly any size and any kind of menu. They were so accommodating to our needs and our budget that we held a our wedding reception there and we provided our own wait staff and it made the evening smooth and wonderful. We will certainly be going back very frequently! read more
