My Boyfriend & I were extremely excited to try out V Pizza, after hearing several great reviews. Well, I was extremely disappointed & almost felt like I had shown up to a entirely different place than that I had heard of. As soon as we walked in I was excited to look at the desert display, only to find a half melted piece of cake and Rotten lettuce falling from the Salads ON DISPLAY! Our waitress was extremely short & lacking of any personality at all. At one point we we've even given someone else's food & the waiter was gone before we could even explain that wasn't what we ordered. What we did order we specifically asked to have no Onions. When our food was brought to our table our waitress also flung the food down & was gone without asking how it was or if we needed anything else. I walked to the bar & asked to speak to a Manager. Little did I know the man I had watched knocking back shots throughout our visit was in fact the Manager. He got up, & walked to our table. Our church held an event here in the private room that they have separate from the restaurant. I didn't know how nice and amazing the room was till we actually got over there! They have TV's in there as well! They even turned the TV so we could catch the Clemson and Notre Dame playoff game which was very cool! We were served a private buffet of food that had to be the best buffet of my life! The wings meatballs and salad were all delicious! As we ran out they continued to bring us more and more food! It was never ending! The pizzas they brought in, I felt they were made especially for me and me alone! We ate drank and laughed for hours! The staff treated us like they had known us all of our lives! They even brought in a dessert assortment for us to eat to top off all the great food that we had! My fiancé and I were walking downtown looking for a nice place to eat when we saw a sign outside a restaurant for an Italian Ham and cheese. We walked inside and we were greeted by everyone from the bar staff to the guy that was in the kitchen! Our server was amazing and attentive and she gave us great recommendations. The pizza was unbelievable! The bruschetta was the perfect start to our meal, the cocktails were amazing! As we finished up our meal, the guy who was in the kitchen cooking our meal came out and introduced himself as the General manager of the restaurant! How cool is that!? He told us a great story of how the restaurant got started and how the products in our food was second to none! You can really taste the quality in everything they have here! My first day to use this app but I really want to say thank you very much to the couple nearby me (about 5pm-6pm 2nd September). I'm 22 years old (not American). It's my first time to have drinks. They chatted with me but I didn't take any photos of them and even don't know their names. They knew it was my first glass of wine and left earlier (because it took longer for me to drink for the first time). When I wanted to pay, the bartender said they had paid for me (I didn't understand it at first. He used translation software to tell me the situation.) I want to say thank you very much. A foreign boy can meet such nice people when he drank for the first time here. This is an unforgettable experience in my life. This place is the hidden gem of Gainesville! I have no idea how they pack so much goodness into a pizza! The guy in the red shirt that was cooking recommended the wings, I can see why he said they are award winning! They're savory melt in your mouth goodness! It was like they were made to be paired with a cold beer on a hot summer day! My sever was awesome! She smiled and made me feel welcomed and at home! Her conversation was awesome! This is definitely one of the places that I will now frequent. The ambiance and the food and service are second to none! I can not say enough about my experience here today! We've been here four times We've had pizza, wings, the meatball panini, the pesto chicken panini, and macaroni and cheese. The pizza is really good. The crust is a little soggy, but the toppings are always fresh and top quality. The sauce is wonderful, just the right amount of spicy tang. The sandwiches are perfectly toasted and full of cheese. The meatballs are sooooo good- flavorful and juicy. The pasta in the macaroni is not mushy. The service is always friendly and efficient. On one trip the manager came out and told us that the sandwich didn't look good to him coming out of the kitchen so he sent it back. Well, just had to give it another try, and this time with a group of eight people. We tried three pizzas, and had to have some wings of course and this time also got the lemon cheese cake. A+ again on taste, quantity of food, and service, and that was unanimous all around the table including from two teen age boys. As the waiter went through the menu for those new comers I could see myself returning for these other delectable items. Billy Ray was cooking and my father in law and I watched him masterfully use the wood ovens, and he entertained questions in the process. My boyfriend and I were looking for a new place to make into our date night. I came across V Pizza in downtown and it was absolutely wonderful!! My first visit was impeccable. Our bartender knew everything like the back of her hand! Everything she recommended to us on the menu was "on point". We got the pesto mac n cheese and the pizza ensalata. Who knew pizza without sauce could be so delicious?!?! We have been going almost every weekend since that visit. Last time we ordered drinks from the bar and got the chicken wings. We were staying at the Downtown Hotel near V pizza during hurricane Irma. Many places were closed understandably and anxiety was high as the storm approached. I stuck my head in the door and the General Manager was preparing food for a local hospital - they were closed. But with a calming smile and generous act of humanity, he invited me in and continued to make my family (and a few other weary hungry people) fresh hot pizzas to go....without charge. I came in pretty late at night looking forward to trying this place, and they did not disappoint. Instead of being turned off by tardiness they were extremely welcoming. My waitress Jessica helped me select the perfect beer and pizza combo, she was fantastic and knew her stuff. I got the carnivora pizza and tried some of their select drafts. It was a great experience. The GM Billy even took time to come over and chat with me to see how I liked everything. I ate the whole pie to myself, which is rare. I have visited all the V pizza locations in Jacksonville. When I heard they were opening in Gainesville I was very excited. It's my favorite pizza place on this planet. And now I'm convinced that this Gainesville location is my favorite one. The atmosphere is very cozy. I love looking at the beautiful ovens baking the pizza and the bar area is big and comfortable. My son and I were on a mission to hit a few places and see who had great wings. We started downtown at V Pizza. Their wings are not traditional saucy, messy wings. They are seasoned and cooked in their special oven. We tried both flavors and they were excellent. We went on to 3 other places and in the end V Pizza was our favorite. I come here for the wings. I've been here once, twice, and now thrice. I sit up on the bar, and talk to the cooks with my brother, and in all honesty, they are awesome. They make it great to sit and eat, and even help with different ways to eat. I'd have to say, this is the best wings in town, best pizza so far, and all in all, best cooks I have met in a long while. Experience was extremely memorable. Came here with a large group for my birthday and the service was impeccable. For my birthday I received a unique drink and the waitstaff was incredibly attentive to the entire table. I just went to V pizza for the first time yesterday. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere is lovely. I love sitting at the bar watching you make pizza and watching them cook in those awesome ovens. I thought they were a tad overpriced for the amount of food I got, but when I read their pamphlet and basically everything is super fresh and imported from Italy, so the price kinda reflects that. And I can't forget to mention their phenomenal cocktails, all the ingredients are fresh and made in house. I've enjoyed Pizza V since they opened in September. Every time the pizza seems to get better. I was there Tuesday with a group of students from UF and we had a great dinner. I always get a build your own pizza with rope sausage, green pepper and pineapple. I had my group try my favorite and they were happily surprised how tasty the pizza was. I love this place. The drinks are unique and really well priced. This is coming from a post college grad! The pizza is made from freshly imported ingredients from Italy. The server Katelyn was friendly and happy and the manager Thomas offered to sample their award winning wings. The spicy wings are now my recommended order!
