I have trained with Coach Vanessa at Fitness on Fire for close to 2 years before. She is an excellent coach. First of all she sets a great example as she herself is tremendously disciplined about her diet and fitness and is strong and in great shape herself. She is a good task master but not to the point of being obnoxious, she is a nice person. Our workouts were always varied and included strength training mixed with high intensity type stuff that elevated my heart rate. Vanesa is the best! I've suffered from countless knee dislocations my whole life.. it was happening monthly to twice a month. This condition restricted me from playing sports, hiking with my family, dancing with friends, swimming in the ocean which I used to love.. really being active in every sense of the word, I was terrified to do even the slightest of movements like sitting down into a chair. I also had no sense of how to eat healthy, I thought I was eating healthy but couldn't figure out how to slim down. It was horrible and kept me from being in shape for a long as I've known. I went to PT and that didn't stop the injuries. I tried bootcamp fitness classes but none of the instructors there were certified so, they had no idea how to help me achieve my goals. I started working with Vanesa for stability mobility and strength and I've been dislocation free for a year now- that was unheard of before and I couldn't have done it without her. I'm very strong now, in my standards at least. I can hip thrust 180lbs and that weight will continue to rise. I can jump... which is still a little scary but I can jump! I've been working with Vanessa for almost a year in a class strong at Fitness on Fire and for semi private sessions for a few months now. Her knowledge and skill has really brought me to a new level. I started working with her to learn the Pose Method of running as I wanted to learn to run more effectively for Spartan races and in generally, surprisingly, after learning how to run properly I actually find myself enjoying running.
