I need a professional Design & Marketing provider to help me with my business. Based on the great…read morereview score, and their website, I thought Brick House Media was promising. When I called them, a young guy just answered, "Hello?" How unprofessional! First red flag. I told him I was impressed by their website, but the way he answered the phone was really unprofessional and sends up a red flag; but I'm willing to move past that and inquire about their services. That was his cue to express a modicum of humility and apologize, but no -he just asked how they could help, with a tone that clearly indicated he really didn't care. There was no life in his voice. When I began telling him what I'm interested in, he cut me off and said he's busy with a client. Wow! Obviously all that glitters isn't gold, as this is clearly NOT a professional business -one that would have someone answer calls when they're with a client, or simply not answer the phone, so they can stay focused on their client. Taking away from a client's time (and money) to answer calls is disrespectful and unprofessional. Seeing any further conversation would be wasted on him, I hung up.

Sure it is OK in Monkey Mode--auto--but is this all there is?" That was me. Now my buyers remorse is gone thanks to Jared Brick. I bought a NIKON SLR he showed me how to use it. Let's face it, cameras are easy to use now but what you need to know to get good shots in various conditions have not changed. Jared will meet you anywhere and with the patience of a saint tell you how to use your toy. His ability to communicate concepts, and you need to know them, is very good. Does ISO, f stop, and aperture totally confuse you. It should. But Jared makes it simple... "Photography is all about light" "The Aperture mode is the artistry mode" "The ISO is like a dimmer" Golden. Unlike other teachers he LIKES teaching and never is condescending. With tons of Flickr'rs running around with expensive toys like me this guy is the missing piece. Pretty down to earth, willing to drop an f-bomb if necessary. Extra credit there...

From first reaching out to him to get a bid, he was super responsive and really nice. Since we were getting married on a public beach during such a busy weekend, I was worried about having to coordinate with multiple vendors (videographer, photographer, transportation, et ) in case we needed to change locations at the last minute due to crowds. Stephen assured me that he was really mobile and could easily pack up and switch locations if necessary. Stephen also asked me thoughtful questions leading up to the big day about what songs I liked and what my husband and I are like to make sure that the video was exactly what we wanted. On our wedding day, Stephen showed up right on time and quickly got set up. I am really not sure how he was able to get all the angles he did on our video bc I never even remembered seeing him! I think that's a sign of a professional :) After our wedding, Stephen was so fast in getting us our finished product. Everything arrived exactly as he said it would and the quality was really great. It was kind of windy during the ceremony but the audio was still perfect. I would HIGHLY recommend getting a video of your wedding ceremony to anyone on the fence about it and I would DEFINITELY recommend using Stephen. He is such a talented professional and we really enjoyed working with him.

In truth, I was initially not interested in having a videographer. I was concerned about having a camera following us and our guests around and what that might be like. My concern was totally unwarranted. Stephen makes a point to stay in the background and you hardly notice he is there. But when the video arrived... WOW. My wife, my wife's family, and I were glued to our seats for the entire video. After my father received his copy of the video, he called me excitedly to report that he and my mom had just watched the video two times in a row! It was extremely well done. He captured so many precious moments, large and small, from our day. It is an amazing gift that we will now be able to relive our special day for the rest of our lives. Hire him.

So professional, kind, warm and talented. As the mother of the bride, all I wanted was for her to be happy with the photographer. Carlie and Gabe made her very happy!

And we wanted to make sure every vendor was experienced and understood our vision for the event because we couldn't afford any missteps from amateurs. Even though it was the most important one, because we had three other photographers flake out on us, the last vendor we hired was the photographer. From the moment she called me back, through our first meeting at our house and subsequent emails and conversations prior to hiring her, I knew Carlie was going to be great. Go to her website and you can see for yourself how comfortable she makes people feel. She's warm, real and professional. And unlike some other wedding photographers who are either cookie-cutter hacks or fashion themselves are high-brow (and over-priced) artistic geniuses, Carlie's talented eye is on what matters most -- people, connections and the feelings she captures in the moment. My husband and I are both photography lovers and hobbyists which means three things, we know and appreciate good photography, we have high expectations and we're more comfortable behind the camera than we are in front of it. Carlie exceeded our expectations and made us feel very comfortable in front of the camera. No small feat! We got married on a yacht two weeks ago and had an engagement session done about six weeks ago. I can honestly say that no one has ever shot a better photograph of me than Carlie -- and that was before they were even processed. In fact, from our engagement session there are dozens of photographs that were so good we simply could not decide which we liked best. My very unsentimental 18 year old daughter saw one of them and started crying because she said "it just looks like love". At and after the wedding, several people (guests, the wedding planner, crew and service staff) remarked about how wonderful Carlie was to work with. She and her assistant/husband were everywhere shooting everything, but were never once in the way or obtrusive. She knows her stuff and is a genuinely nice person who was a great addition to our special once-in-a-lifetime day. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants great photographs for a wedding, special event or portrait session. Be sure to notice and click on the 5 "filtered" reviews for this business. For some reason, Yelp's new auto review filter is hiding legit reviews because they think they're not "real" for some reason. These other glowing reviews (the hidden ones) were there when we checked Carlie out and are very much worth looking at if you're deciding whether or not to hire her.
