04-27-26, about 2 p.m. My daughter lives in Meadowbrook, CA. She is in a desperate situation after hitting a huge dog with her car after dark. After many unsuccessful attempts to get help towing her car to a car repair she contacted Vaca Towing. "yes" he would accept a credit card payment over the phone from her mother (Me). I'm 88 yrs old, & live 2000 miles away. Vaca towed the car to Meineke Car Care in Temecula, 20.1 miles away. He called me for the charge, and he CHARGED ME $425.00. You got that? $Four Hundred & Twenty-Five dollars. He saw Me, and my desperate daughter as EASY MARKS, and he took advantage of the situation, and Us. Other tow truck drivers that my daughter had spoken to (but would not accept my credit card payment over the phone) had quoted "the going rate of $150", one other tow truck quoted $80. Vaca tried to justify the charge as "mileage" he had to travel - But - Come. On. $425.00 for 20.1 miles tow, and the "mileage" doesn't warrant a Plus $275. Garbage customer service. Insurance selected them to tow us and we waited over an hour only for them to ask if we can reschedule the tow for the morning (it's 12:55AM right now). I told them no and they said ok call the insurance back to get a different tow truck. We are from out of town and stranded here. read more

OUTSTANDING FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESS! I had some car trouble over the weekend and had to request a tow through USAA. The first company I used took over 2 hours to arrive to my location (Ha, 0 stars), but Vacas took a little over 1 hour as estimated in the app. +1 star While waiting I left to pick up some lunch and I was called by the son. When I arrived, I was greeted by the son and mom. They were taking liability pictures of my car (dings, scratches, etc.) makes sense. Since my car trouble was 'check engine light' related, they maneuvered it in neutral, and then loaded the car carefully, securing everything (belting the wheels and tightening). +2 stars customer service and safety/security I had to pay extra for them to tow to my regular mechanic in Orange County, and they were more than willing to take photos and text me to prove that my car was delivered safely and properly to the desired location. They saved me time and hassle to follow them; I was able to just take my rental and go. +2 stars for transparency and efficiency I know that if you use your insurance, you probably can't pick and choose what tow company comes and rescues you. Needed a speedy Tow after my car broke down on the way home from work! First place I called, it was a 3 Hour wait. Second place I called, it was a 1 Hour wait. When Daniel, from Vaca's Towing, picked up the phone after making a 3rd call, he told me it'd be an 8 Minute Wait! I was definitely very grateful with the quick process from beginning to end.
