The Lakeside location was PERFECT for our 21 member family of people ranging from 9 months old to 75 twice now!. We had a blended family reunion here for 3 different sides of our family (a lot of whom did not know members from the other sides) and it was absolutely AMAZING! Plenty of room to spend time together as a group or cluster! The property is absolutely beautiful, clean, and the owners are very kind and prompt. the kitchen is humongous with a huge walk in pantry and 2 full sized fridge/freezer combos, has a dining table in the middle of the kitchen, and there are two other full sized dining tables off the kitchen (One in the nook and one in the dining) the large king room downstairs is the size of a 2 car garage! There is a full sized living room with a sectional and couch and kitchenette for the upstairs (great for the big kids to cluster during the day) the bedrooms all have plenty of extra space even the bunk and queen room. You can tell they were conscientious about not cramming too much bed in the rooms. there are lots of great Amenities within walking distance for the kids. Our 2 year old twins and 15 year old had a blast at the rec center up the road! there is seating down by the water and boathouse, one just small seating area just off the water, a huge lower deck with built in fire pit and fire wood, a higher wraparound patio around the bottom floor, a private gazebo off the side of the patio that attached to the bridge room upstairs, and a spacious front porch with a full propane grill! perfect View of the sunset from the Kitchen, main living room, and all 3 decks. We spent two summer nights at Creekside and enjoyed the entire experience. I hate to give 5 stars to anything as nothing is perfect but I have a tough time finding anything wrong with the house or the hosts. The house is clean as a whistle, nice lay out with two full size bedrooms and bathrooms, big back porch ( and a small front porch as well), backyard is as the pictures with a satellite deck overlooking a flowing creek, nice walking trails thru out. In five minutes - that is 5 minutes - you are at the lakeside within a well kept private park for the home owners of the surrounding subdivision - it is really nice. We were just a couple but this house would also be perfect for two couples or a family. Looking for a secluded cabin in the pines? - this is it. read more

We will definitely be back again and again! The house was so clean -- I mean, so clean! The decks are beyond belief amazing. The crew power washes and cleans the kayaks and decks and outdoor seating before you arrive. We spent the week laughing and kayaking and floating on rafts (worth every penny to pick some up before you go!) Mark and Brenda are the most gracious hosts. They truly care about the properties and take every opportunity to make you feel like a welcome guest. The neighbors on the lake are also so kind. They saw us kayaking with our girls and told us about a sand bar (an old road) that's 4 ft deep where the kids could get out and swim. We're booking our next trip to Awesome View! When some thing or some place is so perfect you really want to keep it to yourself - the fear of it being tarnished by too many people finding out about it could rob it of its perfection. This past week was our third visit to VCR - staying in a different house each time. We have loved everything about each of our visits - the homes, the grounds, the lake, the kayaks, the cycling...everything. The house was super clean and inviting. Each switch on the wall was labeled as to what it controlled. The beds were comfortable and the surroundings were calming. We avoided a hurricane in our state by being there and were so glad we missed it and were able to relax. Everything was tended to and the house looks almost brand new. The backyard was wonderful with a fire pit of which we took advantage. Deer roam like cats in the neighborhood. We saw at least five. Again, a relaxing stay! read more

I hosted a family reunion renting Lakeside, Pat's Place and Henry's Hideaway for about 30 people. The homes were beautiful, clean and spacious. The location was convenient for people coming in from different directions around Texas. We thoroughly enjoyed hanging out on the back deck, fishing, sitting around the fire pit at night. It was a great place for us and we plan to return in a couple of years to do it again. I highly recommend this property for a getaway spot! read more

Pat's Place was a perfect spot for our family of 14 (8 adults and 6 small children) to get together for several days over the 4th. We all enjoyed the kayaks, fishing off the dock, going on walks (we saw lots of deer), floating/swimming in the lake, playing on the basketball court, and just being together. The house had plenty of room, and the outside decks were amazing. The house was clean and had everything we needed. I would love to return! read more

We had a wonderful weekend at Awesome View which truly does have amazing views and particularly at sunset. Absolutely wonderful! I live in the county, however I felt like I was at a resort! We rented for a short weekend just to hang out and ride jet skis. The accommodations and grounds are immaculate and the staff is spectacular. It was very convenient to be able to dock our watercraft at our own private space. We had a great time! Great, clean home with outdoor fire pits and one stack of firewood with fire starter provided. Small basketball court next door that we were able to play pickle ball on with equipment we brought. Grounds keeper even blew the leaves off for us! Walking distance to lake with private dock and nice kayaks. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. Will definitely visit again! read more

We just spent a long weekend at the Creekside vacation home just outside of Crockett. This was our third visit in 5 years, and everything was perfect as usual. The house was very clean and everything was in good working order. There is a creek that runs behind the house, and we saw numerous deer every day. My wife and I had an amazing time at Creekside. It was just what we needed, a nice quiet place away from the city. The cabin was secluded and surrounded by pine trees. The private dock area on the lake was nice and I was able to catch two fish off of it. We brought our Lab and he loved running around with such a huge yard to do so. My family and I stayed for the weekend and we were more than pleased with the experience! Everything you need was provided and there were several items provided that I didn't expect that added to our overall experience. We stayed at Henry's Hideaway and The Gregory. We have stayed at Creekside 5 or 6 times now to visit family and Christmas on the Square in Crockett. We always stay here because for us, it is the perfect getaway.
