I am the son of the owner of this wonderful place. Whether your on the beach, at a dj dance, Easter egg hunting on Easter weekend, or throwing water balloons at our very own "pirates" on pirate weekend. I promise a wonderful time for those with kids and or any family looking for a relaxing and quiet couple of days. As I read a few negative comments I can't help but laugh and feel sorrow for the person who wrote this. Those who do not know my mother would be quick to call her rude and say she accused them of being too loud etc. Well chances are you were too loud and you were disturbing. Judging by our generous success, constant growth, 100's of repeat customers, never-mind the ever growing list of previous weekend campers who would love to get on a seasonal site. I would say the place is pretty cool. That being said, if you want to be up drinking and playing music than don't come here. It is a family campground, there is a 95 percent chance there is a young child trying to sleep at 9:30 p.m. Judging by Matt W's review...if Vacationland Campground was what he said. A family friendly campground with exceptional staff and owners! Not your every day campground, Vacationland goes the extra mile to make sure your experience is memorable! Theme weekends, full of activities, are fun for kids (and the kid in every adult!). Kind and courteous staff are seen around the camp site every day, making sure everything is ok with campers, or popping by to say "hello! The sunset and moonrise views over the lake are spectacular - and for those early birds that awake at the crack of dawn - the sunrise is just as beautiful! The sites have fire pits, picnic tables and water and electric outlets -and a common bathroom/shower up the road - so if you like to rough it, without literally 'roughing it', this place is perfect. But remember, you are still in the woods, so seal up your food to keep it safe from skunks, chipmunks, ducks.....and other cute critters! This was my 2nd trip here and I plan on returning again next summer! I see no distinction between how 'seasonal' campers are treated from weekend warriors. I felt like everyone was treated as family. We are a family of 3 people (2 adults and 1 child). We camped on various campgrounds in Eastern States. We decided to camp in Vacationland campground during summer 2012. We had a blast! We will definitely come back! Upon arrival, we were welcomed by seasonnal people who helped us to settle. People in charge of the campground were always smiling and enjoying doing their jobs. My daughter met a lot of children of all ages and could play with them. If you ask her, the best thing she liked there were the children activities and the friends she made there. She had arts and crafts every day. And the best of all is the pirate week end! If I had people talking and screaming all night next to my site, my family and I would have been upset, especially my daughter who sleeps at 8PM. So I am grateful for the quiet hours enforced. My family and I are not related to any employees or owners of the campground, neither am I a friend of any of them. It was our first time camping in this campground. read more

My wife found this Gem 13 years ago. The owner at the time was cleaning up a mess and was a bit harsh. Since the new owners have been in place we have had a great experience camping as seasonal's while my children grew up. The oldest is off to adult hood but has fond memories of camp. The youngest is still here enjoying the lake and the fine people we have met. The negative reviews are just noisy people who have no consideration for other campers. After 13 years, soon to be 14, I can attest to the inconsiderate campers. They forget they have people sleeping in tents just 20 feet away. The speed limit is 5 MPH for a reason. Children running around everywhere. Again the Debbie Downers have no clue! They drive through at 25 MPH and then complain when called out! It's not Bike Weekend at Laconia! The Campground has a speed limit, it also has quiet time. Nuff Said. read more

This was our fourth year visiting Vacationland. We love this place! We camp as a large group, there were 17 of us this year. Gretchen, the owner is welcoming and very involved. The atmosphere is beautiful and everyone is very accommodating. There was a mix up in our reservation and she went above and beyond to make it up to us. Also, there was a dj dance that was supposed to be held in the rec hall, but it was a beautiful night. As we were camping on sites adjacent to the beach, Gretchen asked us if it was ok to hold the dance outside on the beach. Not many owners would be that concerned with their guests! And it was a lot of fun! We had a few younger children and they loved dancing on the beach! We rebook for future trips before we even leave! I recommend this place to anyone who is looking to have a fun relaxing trip! read more

My family and I enjoyed our stays at Vacationland SO much. The atmosphere was perfect for our family, relaxed and very friendly. There was no tolerance for rude, rowdy, obnoxious campers. Maybe that is the problem Matt had. My family was made to feel welcome and included in all things happening at the campground. It is obvious that the owners are passionate about everyone enjoying themselves fully, based on the time and effort they put into everything. The THEME weekends are a blast, and the memories are priceless. The grounds are clean, the sites are meticulous, and the staff I have interacted with could not be more helpful and respectful. This is a perfect campground for families, run by a family. Highly Recommend!! And have fun! read more

Every year, my family and I make the trek to Harrison Maine and Vacationland Campground. Every year it is as good or better than the year before. The sites are clean, the people that work the campground are sweet, helpful and hardworking... The bathhouse was cleaner than the bathroom of the hotel I stayed at in Orlando two weeks ago! The people cleaning it smiled and greeted me! Despite somewhat colder nights than we were expecting (nothing a warm fire and an extra blanket couldn't fix) the vacation was once again, beyond anything else! We have more fun here than Disney... for a 30th of the price. If you have ever thought to try camping... try Vacationland. (but take care of my site! I left it just the way I like it!) ;) read more

Wonderful memories of 5 seasons at Vacationland. We loved it so much we traveled 1200 miles to spend our summers there. We no longer camp but still miss our good times . The lots are generous, the owners are generous and caring with lots of original fun ideas for all ages. Crystal Lake is exceptional for swimming and boating. We had many family reunions on our lot with full cooperation from Gretch and Tim allowing us to use the rec hall if the weather was not cooperative. Oh yes and I forgot the sound of the loons......we fully endorse VLCG. PS we are no relation to the owners. read more

My family has been camping at Vacationland for decades. My most recent experience there was hands down the best camping experience in my adult life. The owners are present, passionate and care about their campers. There was plenty for the kids to do, and it was a wonderful experience to see the entire family of owners participating. The campground itself is thoughtfully laid out, bathrooms are immaculate and a good time is had by all. It really is as good as it gets, and if anyone doesnt have a good time there, it is their own fault. read more

I'm sorry the previous poster had a bad time here, maybe you were a bad camper?? We have camped here many times and this campground is where it is at. So many activities for the kids to enjoy, and nice clean camping area and alot of fun. The new owners are so nice and treat everyone like family that goes there. They are so nice. I would recommend this campground to anyone to spend their camping weekends, or weeks with. They rock, and we cant wait to get there this year!! read more

Hi We have been camping at Vacationland Campground for about 7 years and love it! We started out with a popup camper and graduated to a slideout. This campground is very oriented to family and kids. They always have activities for kids and treat the adults to all kinds of entertainment. Sites are very clean and large Gretchen does a great job managing the campground with a friendly smile.
