Catherine is the perfect manager for this absolutely gorgeous venue! A year and a half before my daughter's event we started looking at local venues. The Opera House was 1 of 4 that we narrowed our list down to and we are so happy we booked our daughter's event here. The Opera House is absolutely beautiful so there is very little we need to do...just added our special touch and it was beyond perfect! All the staff was amazing during my daughter's event. We were so very pleased with literally everything! Communicating with Catherine was not only easy, but I know I ask a whole lot of questions and more than once... Catherine was extremely patient with me. Catherine also gave us a list of venders and that is how we met our DJ along with one of the two restaurants we used as well! The Vacaville Opera House is the best place to get married in Solano county! It is so beautiful and clean and fancy! They take care of so many things for you that are included in the package- rehearsal, bartending, set up, clean up, coordinating vendors day of, decorating etc...! The venue is exceptionally pretty with padded chiavari gold chairs, exposed brick walls and crystal chandeliers. Very tastefully decorated so that it would match any color scheme & theme. The Staff was phenomenal! Catherine kept everything under control and rolling smoothly. No detail was missed. I cant say enough nice things about them. They were very genuine in wanting me to have a wedding just as I had envisioned and we're really good at giving me advice and tips. My phone calls and emails work quickly answered and they always made me feel that I was in good hands It's in a perfect location for outside photos and had plenty of public parking. read more

I recently held a Murder Mystery/Masquerade Ball charity event at the Opera House benefiting local schools that needed help funding specific projects (lest the kids grow up and mug me on the street) and hosted it at the Opera House. And I just want to say that it was AWESOME (and that's only partly due to me). Sandra, Nicole, Patty and the entire staff were EXTREMELY helpful throughout my planning process, even though I was flying by the seat of my pants for most of it. They took care of the linens, dishes, setting up, taking down, the whole nine. They even played along with the murder mystery when the maid got whacked (spoiler alert: the chauffeur did it). The venue itself is beautiful, and while there are some rules about how crazy you can go with decorating, you can see why they'd want to preserve the beauty of the place. I can't speak highly enough of Sandra and her team; they helped me get this thing off the ground without a hitch. THANK YOU!! read more

We cannot express how happy we are to have found the Vacaville Opera House for our September wedding. The venue is a gorgeous space with wonderful and professional staff, creating a perfect experience. Like many of our guests, we did not know such a gem existed in this area. It is located in the city's historical downtown, with plenty of parking for guests and an adjacent community park with lots of trees, flowers and bridges (for photos). We held both our ceremony and reception here for 120 guests, with plenty of space for dinner, dancing, and socializing. Nicole was an absolute pleasure to work with during the planning stages; she is very responsive and thorough, quick to respond to and address any concerns or questions along the way. The venue has wedding and event planning down to a "T" and is SUPER organized! This left absolutely nothing for us to worry or stress over; on the day of, Andy and Aisha managed what was our perfect wedding day. Their recommended professional vendors for DJ/entertainment/photo booth (DJ Mike of Premier 6 Events), catering (Erica Marie's Catering), and florist (Dixon Florist) were ALL spot on and excellent to work with as well - thank you!! Be very careful booking here. I had an event here and was not impressed. Rude staff who ended our event earlier than we contracted and wouldn't take responsibility for anything that went wrong. NOTHING. Instead, made us feel like we had no business booking there. Beautiful venue, terrible customer service. Nice brick-exposed venue in Downtown Vacaville. As most people do, I attended a wedding here and could see the effort they put into setting up the place and ensuring bride, groom, and guests have a great time. I noticed though that the sound system has some flaws. Technical difficulties almost ruined the couple's first dance, which is probably the last thing that should happen. Bar service was prompt and friendly, and the staff seemed to handle the large amount of guests with ease. read more

I had my wedding at this venue on October 3. The facility and staff was wonderful to work with. Jemma was helpful, pleasant, and flexible. The food was excellent, and the wait staff was attentive and friendly. With my family being from Carmichael and my fiance's family from the bay area, Vacaville is right in the middle. The Opera House is easy to get to with plenty of parking available. The vintage brick walls and tall ceilings add lovely charm to this space. It perfectly holds 125 guests with plenty of room to dance. Our ceremony was held in Mcbride Park... right across the street! Our guests loved the convenience. Our guests also enjoyed all that Vacaville had to offer.(farmer's market, outlet stores, nature walks) I am so, so happy we chose the Opera House as our venue. I 100% recommend them! read more

We held our high school reunion at the Vacaville Opera House, and it was a phenomenal event. Working with Sandra to set up the event was a pleasure. She has very strong communication skills; arranging logistics and coordinating the event was a breeze. Sandra accepted slightly less of a deposit from us because she knew that raising funds ahead of time for reunions is sometimes difficult; it was this type of flexibility and "we'll work with you" attitude that made coordination so simple and made the event a success. The facility itself is gorgeous. It's been refinished and simply looks amazing with the upper floor catering/food/bar room and the larger dinner room with stage. We had 100 guests and fit in very easily. We added a few minimal decorations for our reunion and the place looked the best any reunion had looked. I am glad that I listened to Sandra's recommendations, when we first set up the event, regarding a caterer. We used Los Reyes restaurant right down the street, and having them so close made the event so simple to plan. Sandra also recommended against a sit-down dinner (they're sometimes stuffy and boring) so we went with a buffet/hors d'oeuvres and a variety of tables arranged to allow a lot of movement and socializing. Parking was easy downtown, and there are several great bars nearby. Cleaning up after the event was super easy; the Opera House staff took care of everything! All we had to do was take any decorations we wanted to keep, and they did everything else. After our reunion a few large groups moved on to one of the bars and kept the celebration going. read more

Great venue for parties big or small. Reasonably priced and centrally located for our family and friends. The bar set up is especially great, because it's in a room separate from the tables and dance floor. Our event was purposely casual, but I saw photos of it dressed up for a wedding and it is simply stunning with the chairs in slip covers and fancy centerpieces. read more

I recently rented the opera house for a nursing graduation ceremony. From the beginning through to packing up and turning the lights out Sandra, Christy, and Carol were great to work with. They answered my emails in a timely manner and even accommodated a last minute (day of event) request for an additional 100 chairs. The Opera House is under 'New Management'. And with any company there are growing pains. I can't speak to any of the other comments because I did not have a bad experience. But here is what I *can* speak to: 1. The venue is newly renovated and it is gorgeous. They have installed chandaliers that appear to be very high end. They have added special paneling to assist with reduction of the former echoing. 2. The hardwood floors, vintage brick walls, and tall ceilings only add to the beauty of the rooms. 3. There is an elevator available, but it is slow. Unless you are carting heavy equipment or are otherwise unable to climb stairs, I suggest the stairs. Would I rent from them again, absolutely. read more

Beautiful place. Nice staff. Lots of history here, but they had to compromise and update this place (according to the caretaker/event planner and locals.) It's a shame that it's no longer a 2-story opera house. It's used for catering events, weddings, etc now. Bathrooms--men's room is limited, but women's has 4 stalls and plenty of room for changing. But it IS still the bathroom. Plenty of seating upstairs in the great ballroom/stage area. The wedding ceremony, and then the reception held here was nice. The bar and staff was wonderful. I want their bar, in my house...just all of the warm colors of wood, minimal metal, and the sunlit windows. Plenty of room everywhere. Elevator is available too but don't use it unless you *have* to, as it is slow. Parking = pretty easy in this area. Either the lots, or on the street. (We were here on the weekend too, so I suppose that could change with weekdays.) read more

For our final paperwork we finished with Nicole. These three women are beyond awesome. The venue is spectular. Their kindness and professionalism was consistent throughout. If you want a stress free beautiful environment. This is the place to book. Their preferred vendor list provided us with the best caterer you can have. From Scratch With Love and I already had the best baker ever Studiosweets. Which she is also on their preferred vendor list. The day of the party we had the pleasure to meet and work with Pat, Veronica, and i think Mary. They are so awesome. I didnt have any complaints or worry. Just had an event here for my daughter's 18th Birthday/ Debut. This place is absolutely amazing: The exposed brick, the chandeliers, the Chiavari Chairs, the staff, the management team. I was hesitant on booking a small venue, but fell in love with the interior. Nicole was helpful every step of the way and answered questions throughout the whole planning process. Ms Patti and her wonderful staff took great care in ensuring everything went smoothly the day of. She provided tissue and q tips when my daughter was crying and to fix her makeup. I didn't need much to decorate as this place was stunning as is. I just added a few touches to fit my theme. Their recommended vendors were great as well, Merchant & Main for catering and John Laxa for music/ photobooth. Highly recommend both. John is the only DJ who has access to the lighting and sound system in the venue. He did an outstanding job with music and lighting to fit our theme. This is a stunning venue! I had my wedding here on 10/10/2015, and I am so glad that we did. Our wedding coordinator was Patty, and she was on it!!! She helped everything run smoothly, she kept our special day running on-time, and she was so great to work with. The ladies in the office are wonderful as well, especially since I probably called them to death, with questions and concerns. The Vacaville Opera House is outrageously gorgeous. I heard a lot about it before I actually decided to have my wedding reception there. It's located in the heart of downtown Vacaville. It's perfect for any occasion. My wedding guest kept telling me how beautiful the venue was. They were in Awe. I'm not exactly sure when they remodeled, but I know it was recent. They have these amazing chandeliers that set a romantic ambiance. It has brick walls and if you don't like the brick, they have ivory colored curtains that can cover most of it, so you don't have to spend your money on those expensive drapes. However, I guarantee you'll love the brick. I loved everything from the hardwood floors to the amazing staff. They were very helpful in the planning and on the actual day of the wedding. Their prices aren't bad either. Chris the decorator comes at an extra cost but he does an outstanding job. TRUST him, he is great. It was absolutely perfect and they by far exceeded my expectations. I can not recommend the Opera House highly enough for your event! My husband and I got married there on May 5th 2012. The Opera house was the first venue we looked out for our wedding and everything else we saw paled in comparison! The chandeliers, the brick work and the beautiful wood floor makes decorating a breeze. We were so impressed with Carol, Patty, Chris and everyone else we worked with there. They were so attentive to details and had a "we will make it happen" attitude! They were so nice my family is still talking about them. We were even allowed to come check out the building several times to match fabrics or work out our set up. They were extremely accommodating to all our wishes! The value for your money is incredible! Look no further if you are getting married anywhere in the area because you will not find a more beautiful place at a more reasonable price! We came here for my husband's High School reunion and was thoroughly impressed with the space! It's a great location for parties and perhaps even small weddings - exposed brick, built in bar. The actual venue space is upstairs - and it could probably fit a wedding of 100 or so. But it's very nice - tall windows, hardwood floors. We hosted our son's wedding at the Opera House on Sat. Oct 2, 2010. The place looked terrific (thanks Chris!) the food was superb and the wait staff MOST accomodating as we had to set up an extra table to accomodate a large family with several little kids (they could not be split up at different tables!). I would highly recommend the Opera House... everything (except decorating) is included... no JUNK fees...the wine, beer, champagne, cake cutting (not the cake) is all included!!!!! And it is delicious! We had the Prime Rib and Sherry Chicken... yum! You cannot find a better venue for up to 150 people anywhere in Solano County! read more

I can not express how incredibly happy I am with using Vacaville Opera House for our wedding. Easily the best wedding decision I made in the entire process. First off the venue is gorgeous. It has the perfect balance of elegance and grandeur yet feels intimate. The park across the street is perfect for your outdoor photo fix. They offer simple pricing and next to no extra charges. Super affordable. The best part I would say is the staff. They have done weddings for a bit and it shows..they are a well oiled machine. They include a day of wedding coordinator, bar tenders, and a couple of people who make sure the venue is decorated to your vision. Also they have stuff you can use...for example we got to borrow a card box, they have cake stands, table numbers, easiles, chalkboards and they had beautiful candle holder we used to complete the look of the venue. It may be beautiful and all but I was stopped from going to a party because of the limited space. I had to miss out on my schools dance because the capacity cap was at 175 and I was number 180 to try to get a ticket. They should expand somehow. read more
