I was driving thru. Ordered over the phone to pickup. The custom pizza roll (with sausage, pepperoni, green peppers, and black olives) was amazing. I thought I would eat only a portion of it, but it was so delicious, I ate the whole thing. Also ordered a cannoli (wish id gotten the tiramisu). Cannoli was just ok. The filling was a bit runny, and didn't completely fill the shell. read more

Wonderful! Me and my wife are here and were pleasantly surprised! As soon as we got set down, we realized that this felt like Italy. Loved it. We got our drinks relatively fast. Even quicker was our appetizer, which was simply garlic bread. It was then we were feeling a little bit odd. The garlic bread was not the best. We then actually ordered our food. We shared a small cheese pizza, I got a small spaghetti, and my wife got Stromboli, but not a large portion. It took at least 30 minutes for our food to get there, but it was worth it! The pizza was reminiscent of my ma's homemade, which may be bias, but still. The spaghetti and meatballs was absolutely delicious, and according to my wife, her was alright too! Show me state shows off with this find in Mansfield MO. Locals told me it was great pizza. I was a bit skeptical, because, although I can eat other styles, I LOVE NY style and lived in NY. But this pizza was great. Maybe Not to a NYC pizza snob but to every one else they will be impressed. Thin crisp crust. Great cheese. Puff "ups" in the crust. Foldable! Also had the Caesar salad, and that too was good. Fresh Romaine lettuce croutons were store bought, and the dressing was probably also jarred, which is why I said good, but it was refreshing and I at it all :). Tomorrow we go for the eggplant parmigiana. They told me everything is made fresh. They shave bread and fries the eggplant each night! read more

I was in town to do a service job and stopped in here for dinner; I didn't have hopes for anything amazing, just something to fill my belly. I was immediately taken by the atmosphere, beautiful wooden booths, and the smells wafting from the kitchen. I ordered eggplant parm, and as the waitress walked away with my order I felt a pang of panicky regret... despite being one of my favorite meals I rarely order it off of a restaurant menus because so few can get it right. I was pleasantly surprised when I was served a generous helping of AMAZING eggplant parm! It was cut thin and the breading was perfect! It wasn't soggy or bitter, the pasta was perfectly al dente, and the garlic rolls were amazing! I will definitely be back; I live 30+ minutes away, but this is well worth the trip! read more

As a vegetarian, I generally see two Americas: one of them filled with restaurants catering to my options, and then another one that I generally call GRILLED CHEESE LAND. Forgive me for thinking Mansfield would reside in the latter, so I was pleasantly surprised to learn of this place's existence. We showed up at noon on a Saturday, the only car in the lot, but that just meant no wait for us. The servers were friendly, and our food came out quick - a pizza for me, ravioli for Thing 1 and fettuccine Alfredo for Thing 2. I'm not going to lie and tell you it was the best pizza of my life, but I was happy. My kids, though, considered it the best meal of the trip (and we went to Andolini's in Tulsa the next day) and we all know they're the ones who set the course of the day. My dad had the Italian sausage pepper and onion sandwich. He said it was excellent, and really enjoyed the flavor of the sausage. My mom had the penne alla vodka pasta. She loved it A great combination of marinara and Alfredo sauces with ham over penne pasta.. The portions are huge and the flavors are incredible and authentic. My wife had the eggplant rollatini. Fried eggplant with ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan cheese covered with marinara sauce over linguine noodles. Absolutely masterful and mouthwatering. I had the 10 inch house pizza which was excellent. An absolute perfect blend of sauce, cheese and toppings. The crust was fabulous, hand tossed thin crust New York style. Excellent crisp and char, no flop! We started things off with an order of fried ravioli, garlic knots, and a side salad; all were excellent. The homemade marinara sauce is fabulous. Legitimately everything we've ever ordered here has been fantastic. We have been going since they opened many years ago and enjoy the evolving menu as well as our staples we order almost every visit. Lately, I've been stuck on the pasta primavera and I add shrimp. The shrimp, in any dish at this restaurant, is always cooked to perfection. I crave it! And it's really the only shrimp I'll eat out, because I don't eat it often. Of course the pizza is amazing. My husband, also being from the east coast, says it compares to no other in the area. My son loves the alfredo pasta as well as the calzones. My daughter loves the shrimp basket and wings (I'm drooling now). And holy Toledo Batman, order the Zeppoles. You will not be disappointed in those Italian doughnuts! I could go on about everything we've ever tried here, and maybe I'll edit to add reviews of other dishes they offer in the future, but you get my gist. Vaccaro's has been such a pleasant surprise. The restaurant occupies a former fast food burger building and while the remodel is very nice, the delicious food seems more suited to an upscale white linen restaurant. The service has been top notch but it's a very casual place to eat. Having only recently discovered Vaccaro's we've had but two meals so far. The lasagna and baked Penne were great as we're both the house salad and Caesar. We've not tried the pizza yet but are looking forward to it.
