[August 2025] Our family of five stopped by here on our way to Branson and it was a store/winery all in one. Every person who worked here was very friendly and helpful. We started off with wine tastings where our host took great care of us and our tastings. I think we ended up buying 2 cases of wine. Afterward, we had some appetizers - The Meatball Trio - a sampling of tasty Italian recipe meatballs covered in three different sauces - Garlic Parm, Traditional Marinara and BBQ. Lastly, we had the St. James Antipasto Platter. It contained fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, salami, assorted cheeses, cucumber, tomatoes, artichokes, roasted peppers, onion and black olives drizzled in their signature balsamic reduction and olive oil. Everything was very delicious and the perfect amounts for us to share.

Nice place where you can do a tasting of 7 wines for $20. The menu doesn't seem to match the wine since it's mainly pizza. We got the buffalo Chicken pizza. There wasn't much chicken on the pizza but the buffalo sauce was delicious. I do think for a $27 pizza there should be more chicken on it. The service was great and we bought a couple of bottles of wine after the tasting.

Overall 3.75 Stars So, we weren't expecting Pizza and Wine establishment when we found this place but it worked out well for us. 3.75 Stars - The interior is quite large, with a semi rectangle bar for wine sampling, ample seating and tables in the main dining area and another full bar with seats. It includes a gift shop with different varieties of wine from their vineyard. Wines range from sweet (fruity) to dry. Service: 3.5 Stars It was Sunday afternoon and we arrived around 4:45 and the place closes at 6 pm. It wasn't too busy and there were two staff members who took care of the cooking and service. I believe this is part of tourist season slowing down and being on a Sunday. We sat at a sturdy table and chairs (I was slightly envious) and our server stopped by to bring us water and I sampled, then order a white wine that has citrusy acidic semisweet taste to go with the pizza. We shared the following pizza: The St James Supreme Pizza: $29 - 3.75 Stars. Italian Sausage, Canadian Bacon, Pepperoni, Mushrooms, Onions, Bell Peppers, and Black Olives. We added jalapeños for an extra spice level. The mozzarella cheese was the star of the show. It was oozing, melty, hot, and fresh. The pull of the cheese was long...look at pic to found out. The other ingredients were fresh and wonderful. The crust was decent but we prefer the crust to be a little bit thinner and slightly more sourdough taste to it. Now, don't get me wrong, we enjoyed the pizza cuz' we only had two slices left! All pizzas are cooked in a brick oven so the thin crust will have a nice char on the bottom. They are about 14" in diameter with 8 slices. Could you eat all by yourself? Sure, but you will be very full. Get two different options and share with your love ones. And if you don't have a love one, more pizza for you! NOTE: Sunday and Monday have a limited menu on the Appetizer and Salad options, so be prepared. With that said, all pizza options are available everyday.

We received a free pizza gift card and decided to try it. Wow the brick oven pizza was so good, we got the supreme and it was pure yummy goodness. We also shared a bottle of the bubbly peach moscato and it was perfect! The building is gorgeous and they have an outdoor area that would be perfect for warmer weather with bocce, cornhole and even a waterfall back there. We sampled the slushy and wow I can already picture myself sipping one on the back patio next summer! Give it a shot you won't be sorry this is a keeper for our Branson restaurants. Service was great, both our serving were so friendly and knowledgeable about the wine and pizzas!

Great winery with an all-around excellent experience and great atmosphere. The food is delicious, pizza is great with an excellent cauliflower crust option. Service is friendly and attentive, and the wine tasting is well done with a nice variety to choose from. Definitely worth a visit.

We enjoyed trying St. James. Staff were excellent. They let us try several wines before deciding on our glasses. Food was good. The antipasto had a nice variety & the pizza was delicious. Ambience is cute. They have a wine tasting area, restaurant, private party area, & small gift shop. I would definitely go back and have wine & pizza.

Great charcuterie board. The chef came out to guide us on what was on the board and her dips she created. It was very good.

It's awesome inside and makes you feel like you're eating in a neighborhood square. There was an old guy singing old karaoke country songs which added to the fun/weird atmosphere. Upstairs they have a small arcade that while cool, had about half the machines were broken. The service was really poor. Our waitress didn't just seem like it was her first job it seemed like it was the first time out of her house. We had been sitting for 10 minutes while she walked by 5 times before she even acknowledged us to say she'd be with us soon. She was confused when my wife ordered a Malbec, couldn't provide a single bit of information about the drink special, and didn't understand when I asked for a Peroni. You know, the standard Italian pilsner. One of the 8 beers ON THE MENU. The food is just ok. It was fine. It's close to Olive Garden. You're not gonna find granma's 100 year recipe here, standard spaghetti and meatballs which did their job well. We got the triperfecta the eggplant parm and the chicken parm and while they did not come out hot, everything tasted fine. The big draw here is the ambiance. The owner has a gold mine if they took some time to train wait staff and added some passion in the kitchen. I will also add that at some point in our meal someone started tossing warm rolls to patrons and that was a lot of fun.

Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. I found it to be bland and lacking the variety of pasta options that I've come to expect from Italian restaurants. Compared to other local Italian restaurants we enjoy, the menu felt limited and the flavors were not particularly memorable. As a first-time visitor, I also found the restaurant a bit confusing when we arrived. We were immediately asked whether we wanted to attend a show rather than being directed to seating or given an explanation of how the restaurant operates. It seemed like there was an assumption that guests already understood the concept. A brief welcome and explanation for newcomers would have been helpful. While others may enjoy the experience, the food simply wasn't for me, and I would likely choose a different restaurant next time.

Unless you want to drive to Branson there's not too many other choices closer. So we decided to give Mr. Gilbert's place a try. It was about 7:30 PM when we arrived. Parking was a nightmare because the lot was entirely filled and they actually had a man in the parking lot helping people to find a place to park. We eventually did find a place to park and entered the restaurant. It was packed. We were greeted warmly and asked if we had a reservation. We did not have a reservation but we're seated immediately in the back dining area. Our drink orders were taken immediately and we were warned that if we were ordering a deep dish pizza that it would take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour. We were good with that. We ordered the MR. GILBERTI'S SPECIALTY which was a deep dish pizza with Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Canadian Bacon, Black Olives, Mushrooms, Marinated Green Peppers & Red Onions. SMALL 28.50 * MEDIUM 34.25 * LARGE 40.95. This is not your typical thick bread Chicago style pizza that you're accustomed to. Instead this was a crust which is more dense and approaching a cracker like consistency around the edges. It seems that the cheese is laid down first with the rest of the toppings layered on top and the sauce is the last thing that goes on. It's like an upside down pizza. However if you think about it, it's brilliant because the sauce doesn't make the crust get soggy on the bottom since it is on the top. My wife and I both agreed that it was one of the best tasting pizzas that we'd ever had. And a small was plenty for the two of us. For dessert we ordered the strawberry cream cake which was made in the house by a culinary school graduate who just also happened to be the owner. The strawberry cake layers were separated by a cheesecake filling. It was to-the-moon delicious. This is one of those rare restaurant finds. It's the kind of place you just might drive by without giving it a second thought. But I'll tell you, we are so glad that we took a chance because the pizza was fantastic. It is a very casual ambience but the staff was extremely friendly we felt like we were amongst friends. This will definitely be on our repeat visit list next time we come into this area.

And let me tell you, the pizza is only a 14"....not that deep. I don't mind paying...but this is so out of line compared to what you get. Even a straight pepperoni or sausage pizza..you're paying plenty for what you get. Good taste...but dang have they continued to raise the prices. Salad for 2: $20.75 and the salad is smaller than it ever used to be. Toppings aren't as plentiful as they used to be. And the dressing...the salad didn't have squat. And I paid 2.50 more to get a couple of sides of more dressing....and they're coming in the small plastic ramekin. Gee, give me a break with the nickel and dime junk...when you're already charging $21 for the salad. I have always loved this place. And I can pay whatever....but out of principle...I won't for this place anymore. Sad...as I'm from Chicago and love what this place offered in the past. But now...I suggest Pizza by the Chef in Hollister. Want a meat pizza...Hercules at that place is awesome.

I thought I had to make a reservation - online said there was no available times but when I called, they said we would be seated with no wait. That was all a bit confusing at first but that's okay because 1 phone call figured itself out! When we got there we were immediately seated. The menu is definitely like a diner with American food staples. My husband and I got the burger. I got the single patty and for the price we paid, I should've got the double. We both got french fries for our side. Any other sides were $3-4 and specialty sides were over $6, which is a little outstanding to me. The appetizers were also $12-$15 so we opted out of them. We got waters because we had drank soda all day but drinks were over $3. The burger and fries were honestly so good! I just wish I had gone for the double patty to get the most bang for my buck. They did charge us like a dollar for cheese on it which was actually insane to me. I've never had that experience. For dessert, we got the brownie sundae and peach cobbler. My husband loved the peach cobbler and cleaned his bowl out! I really loved my brownie sundae BUT there was a TON of fudge on it- like mounds of it. I just wasn't expecting that much fudge! I ended up scraping it off so if you get the brownie sundae ask for light fudge. Our waitress was so nice & quick to help us! She seemed young too which sometimes is hit or miss with waitresses. The man singing during our dinner time was 22 years old and sang Elvis, Frank Sinatra, and took some requests. He closed out with some country music. He was singing to make tips to pay for his mission trip! I loved that!!! In total, we spent about $71 for our burgers & fries, 2 desserts (they were $10 a piece), and tip for the singer + tip for our waitress plus tax. Do I think $71 is a lot for this little diner.... yes. But was $17 of that towards tipping alone... also yes. Realistically we spent about $50 on dinner itself. It makes sense but I also think $50 can be spent on a bit thicker of burger that doesn't charge extra for cheese Anyways- if you're looking for a diner experience with awesome decoration, go to JBG's !!!

From the moment I walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere put me in the perfect mood for a great meal. The unlimited breadsticks were fresh and addictive as always, and the house salad was crisp and refreshing. The sauce was perfectly creamy and garlicky without being too heavy, coating the al dente pasta beautifully. The shrimp and scallops were plump, juicy, and cooked just right--no rubbery texture here.
