Went here for last 5-6 years. ALWAYS upcharging, constantly had to call and battle the bill because they charged way more than my insurance would pay. For cleanings, any work that was done. Recently switched to a dentist in Avon and have yet to have any of the above issues. Last time I called to ask the lady at vail dentistry said "oh that's because insurance companies pay 1970 rates, and we aren't accepting any insurance companies", even though they gladly took the portion from mine. read more

Pretty disappointing experience with this company. Not sure how they think it ok to just swap your scheduled appointment with your dental hygienist for a temp to clean your teeth but they do. Front desk has terrible customer service. My advice: go elsewhere. read more

This review is for Dr. Haerter who was my childhood dentist. It's been seven years since I've seen him, but I'm reminded to post a review. I never once had had a cavity, and always rigorously took care of my teeth even as a kid. Then when I was 19, visiting home from college, he said I had to have a root canal. I had no pain but agreed to it. The crown was placed incorrectly and I went to have it fixed by an endodontist in Frisco. Their office called Dr. Haerter for the original x-rays and told me: (1) I had a minor cavity, and that no one should have recommended a root canal. (2) that the crown was not properly placed (3) that they didn't remove all the pulp from the tooth and that it may become infected in the future. Last week I went to my new dentist, and sure enough, they reminded me that some day the remaining pulp might get infected. If Dr. Haerter is reading this, I hope you've since changed your ethics and philosophy. read more

Friends that I know that also go to Dr. Harter, joke that he is the "up-selling dentist" because every time you are there, someone tries to sell you something--new toothbrush, teeth whitening, etc. However, I still give Dr. Harter five stars. Everyone on staff is professional. I can't blame them for up-selling, they just want everyone to have perfect teeth! I, my wife, and now our kids go to Dr. Haerter. He knows his shit, is on top of the latest developments in Dentistry, and runs a tight ship. We show up on time for our appointments and have never waited more than a couple minutes to get into our appointments. Dr's professional and outgoing attitude trickles down to the entire staff. Both hygienists I have seen for 6-month prophy appointments have been skilled and thorough, and the on minor restoration I had done by Dr was a breeze and he was able to do it without anesthetic injections-- this indicates a high level of technical proficiency. Yes, he is into the high-end, lucrative cosmetic stuff and is happy to suggest it to patients, but remember, all technology trickles down to everyday procedures as well. I worked in dental before becoming a patient here myself, so I have known dentists of all types and abilities; I wholeheartedly recommend this practice to anyone looking for top-notch, cutting edge dental care. read more

Dr Haerdter is as good as it gets for dental health provider. His staff, including the hygienists and schedulers, are excellent.

After reading Emily C's review, I now wonder whether I really needed that root canal and whether it was done correctly. And as another reviewer has said about, "up selling," that is an understatement. First it was a night guard, then Invisalign to straighten my teeth and align my jaw to relieve TMD. Biofeedback machine? Yes it worked during treatment. Steroids? Sure, that worked too, while taking them. Just as I was finishing Invisalign, I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea. I told him I did not have the money for it and that it needed to be covered by dental or medical insurance. I was assured that one of the two would cover it. Nope, neither. Out of pocket. Then I received my new sleep apnea orthodic. Wait, what about that extremely expensive night guard you JUST said I needed as I finished Invisalign and had already made you aware of my sleep apnea? You know, the one I'm supposed to wear for the rest of my life. How am I able to use both?? Perhaps it was because you knew the orthodic had a slim to zero chance of working for me: I later noticed, right on the package materials, "Counter-indicated for those with TMD." And to add insult to injury (yes, still in pain) when I last saw him, he actually sat back for a minute then said, "You should get your teeth whitened." Enough! I bailed, I went to a different dentist to treat my TMD. First appointment, I kid you not, I was told that my jaw was not aligned correctly, hence the pain, and that I would need to start all over again: braces, night guard, etc. and that it would cost $5000!! I went to see an oral-facial surgeon to get another opinion. He told me that my jaw pain was related to the structure of my bones (internal derangement) and yes, braces could correct it. BUT, THAT I SHOULD SEE AN ORTHODONTIST and not a dentist. Moral of this long winded, first time Yelp review, if you want your teeth cleaned, their hygienists are great. ANYTHING ELSE, seek treatment elsewhere. ORTHODONTISTS ARE DENTISTS DENTISTS ARE NOT ORTHODONTIST! Someone grab the tar and feathers, I've been had. read more

Our family have been longtime patients of Dr. Haerter and I cannot rave enough about him and his practice!! And, I know my daughter especially would say the same if she could type a review!! Ever since she started going to the dentist, she said she wanted to be one and after yesterday, I'm pretty sure that hasn't changed. Because of permanent teeth that were a bit impatient and growing in behind baby teeth that no matter how hard she tried, were not loosening their grip on her gums, she had to get 2 teeth pulled. She is not a fan of shots, but was actually excited for her procedure...even waking up the day before and saying: "I get to get my teeth pulled tomorrow!" She knew a shot would be involved, but it didn't phase her...and I have no doubt that is because she trusts Dr. Haerter and his staff wholeheartedly. As it was happening, I swear she was smiling even with a fully open mouth. No tears...not even a big squeeze of my fingers! SO thankful for this experience and my happy baby girl!
