Best food I've had on the island! Bryan and Jirell hooked it…read moreup- best service I could possibly recommend! This venue gives a "mom and pop" vibe while delivering flavor and hospitality. The lobster risotto was flavorful and the serloin with dirty rice was mouth watering. I can't say enough good things about the food and the atmosphere at this restaurant. Thank you so much for the incredible experience. Counting down the days until we eat here again.

I never imagined I'd be writing a review like this, but people deserve to know what happened…read more Our family visited La Terraza in Dorado expecting a relaxing meal. Instead, one of the employees--described as a shorter, heavy-set man with a beard working at the front--physically grabbed my 14-year-old nephew by the arm because he apparently thought he was someone else. Let that sink in. An adult employee put his hands on a child before even figuring out who he was. Rather than politely asking a question or apologizing for a case of mistaken identity, his first reaction was to grab a minor. There is absolutely no excuse for that. You don't put your hands on someone else's child. Ever. My nephew was simply there with his family trying to enjoy dinner. No parent should have to worry about an employee assaulting their child because of some mistaken assumption. I am following up with the Dorado Police regarding this incident because I believe it crossed a line that should never be crossed. If management values its reputation, it should review its surveillance footage, identify the employee involved, and take immediate corrective action. Customers deserve to know they can dine here without being subjected to physical confrontations. Until this is addressed, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone--especially families with children. There are too many great restaurants in Puerto Rico to risk having an employee mistake your child for someone else and decide that grabbing them is an acceptable way to handle it. I hope management takes this seriously, because if this happened to my family, it could happen to yours.

When it comes to Puerto Rican food, I truly only know Grandma's cooking. Our close friends mom,…read morewhom we refer to as Grandma cooked some of the best Pernil, arroz con gondules, tostones, and so on. So on our first night in the PR, we definitely wanted some authentic Puerto Rican food and with no recommendations, I resulted to what I know and did some Yelp searching. Not far from us was Toston Jibareño. As soon as we entered, I knew we were in the right place. The place has a decent amount of people inside so I knew it had to be ok. The menu has items I wasn't familiar with, but I went with what I thought I knew. Let me just say everything we ordered was spot on authentic to what I know. The pork chops was out of this world. The mofongo's and tostones brought back memories, the skirt steak was so tender and they did not have arroz con gondules, but instead arroz con habichuelas which are beans and I can't eat beans. It was a great first night. As much as I would love to come back,I have to try different places and different things, but if you are a local and haven't been here or a tourist and want good PR food, this is a great first stop.

My friends and I shared the skirt steak with mofongo, and the mofongo was the best we had our entire trip. We got to try to chicharron too, and it was crispy and flavorful. The steak was tender and juicy. I can't remember much else from the meal, but I would definitely come back, even just for the mofongo alone!
