Valdoro Mountain Lodge is a mixed experience for me overall, I'd rate it 2.5-3 stars. We stayed here during New Year's week. The location is definitely a plus it's close to town, walkable to shops and restaurants, and near the slopes, which makes it convenient if you're planning a ski trip. The property is also part of the Hilton Grand Vacations portfolio, and they offer self-parking, which I believe is complimentary. That said, the property itself feels pretty outdated. While I believe some of the rooms have been renovated, the overall facilities, lobby, gym, spa, and general décor could really use a refresh. The front desk area in particular felt a bit drab and not very welcoming. Check-in was just okay. We are Hilton owners (though not at this specific property), and while I understand priority may go to owners here, it was a little disappointing that we couldn't get a better room especially since the property didn't seem very full at the time. Our two-bedroom unit itself was decent. The showers had great water pressure, which I appreciated, but the bedding could use improvement the pillows were too soft for my liking. The bathroom overall was fine, although I personally didn't feel comfortable using the bathtub as it didn't seem as clean as I would've liked. I did like the fireplace in the room which came in handy and the balcony was nice. One downside is that housekeeping isn't automatically included you need to meet a certain stay threshold, which wasn't ideal. The amenities were underwhelming. The gym was very small and not well-equipped. The spa didn't really feel like a spa, and when I tried to use the steam room, it wasn't even on. There are multiple jacuzzis, but one wasn't working during our visit, so I had to move to another and share, which wasn't ideal. They do offer complimentary coffee and hot cocoa in the lobby, but it's only available for a short window and is more of a self-serve packet setup, which we did not like and didn't use. The biggest issue for me was the lack of follow-up from staff. After checkout, I realized I had left behind a small bag of items in the room. I called multiple times and was told each time that someone would follow up with housekeeping and call me back but I never received a call. When I finally reached someone again, I was told the items couldn't be found. The lack of communication and follow-through left a bad impression. Overall, while the location is great and the rooms are decent, the outdated facilities, inconsistent service, and lack of follow-up make it hard for me to return. read more

We stayed here for 4 nights in a 3 bedroom room. This was so nice for our family since we have multiple children! Great amenities. They have hot tubs. When we were using the hot tub we were the only people in this area so that was nice. They've got steam rooms, a gym, a lounge, a game room, and some grills out back from the 2nd floor. Also they do have a ski shop where you can rent equipment or buy things like hats, gloves, refreshments, etc. The room was nice. Our bed was comfortable. I enjoyed having both a tub and a shower in our bathroom. The people working here were amazing. Friendly and would quickly attend to any needs that we have. For example anytime we called the shuttle they would be there pretty soon afterward! Seriously the employees here really is what made this place earn its 5 star rating! Beautiful place to stay in Breckenridge. Has a ski in ski out option and also has a very convenient shuttle that takes you to the mountain and town. You can walk into town but it takes around 10-20 minutes depending on where you're trying to go. Great amenities and service. My wife and I came up to visit Colorado with her sister and her husband, along with their friends. This lodge has it all! Nice spacious rooms and suites, pools, hot tubs, spa, and more. We stayed in a three bedroom suite with a kitchen. There were two rooms with queen beds and one with twin beds. Our kitchen had everything pots, pans, plates, glasses, coffee mugs, drinking glasses, wine glasses, a dishwasher and our suite even had a washer and dryer which was a plus because we were able to wash our clothes during our stay. It's located right in the center of Breckenridge, CO. You can either take a shuttle or walk. But everything is withing in walking distance. There are grocery stores close by so if don't want to eat out every day and save some money you will be able to cook for yourself if you suite has the kitchen. Hot tubs are first come first serve. The pool is by appointment only during COVID. They provide you with robes with you room. However l, do not take them home with you as they will charge you. Not sure why someone would do that, but that disclaimer card is there for a reason. When you arrive pull into the front to check in. Make sure to ask for wrist bracelet along with your cards for your room access. The bracelets make it convenient for you not to worry about the card. You do have to turn all those items in when you check out. They do have a parking garage; and a heavy duty vehicle such as a stock super duty 250 or 350 single wheel axle will fit. Parking is kind of tight and getting out of the parking garage with your vehicle is no simple task if you are parked in the first row. Our concierge service greeted us down in the parking garage and brought all of our luggage to our room which was pretty awesome because we had a lot of luggage due to the unexpected weather conditions. The hotel is super quiet! Not once did we hear screaming kids or the rooms next door to us. The entire lodge is super quiet. The staff and their customer service are friendly and helpful. They are all happy to be there and excited to help you out with what ever your needs are. read more

My husband and I have been owners with HGV for a little over a year. Until this fall break, we'd only been to three resorts (two in Vegas and one in San Diego). For fall break we decided to venture east to try out a couple of different resorts. In terms of meeting our expectations, Valdoro had all of the amenities we needed. We generally do our own breakfasts and dinners, and there were grocery stores close enough (we had our own car) to make that feasible. There was a dishwasher as well as in-room laundry in our two-bedroom unit. We also splurged and upgraded to the unit with a hot tub on the balcony. That was awesome! Parking was convenient under ground. The heads up about no AC was appreciated. We were able to open windows and balance the 8° morning (mid-October) with the heater and fireplace. There are also some great, family-friendly hikes in the area. If you aren't used to high elevation, take it slow. Frisco is super close. We went to an escape room and lunch there and had amazing experiences at both places. The Starbucks on Main Street in Breckenridge has the nicest baristas, and my husband enjoyed talking to shop owners on Main Street when we went for a walk one afternoon while the kids napped. However, there were a couple of areas that fell short for us, given that it is a HGV property. First, one of the two toilets had a lid. The other didn't. That meant we just had to be extra cautious with the two year old whenever he was on that side of the unit. Additionally, I'm super particular about bathrooms, so all I could think about was how many germs were jumping onto my husband's towel any time the toilet was flushed. I know that's a "me" thing, but I thought I'd give the heads up in case there's anyone out there like me in that way. (He hung his next to the shower which was opposite the toilet. I hung mine over the tub which was on the other side of the wall from the toilet - AKA safe(r) from germs. ) There were also some cramped spaces. Opening the door while everyone was at the dining table, opening the cabinet under the sink while the dishwasher door was down, or opening the oven while people were at the table were all kind of tricky. Perhaps most frustrating (and the reason for 3 instead of five stars) was our check-in process. My husband checked in while I got the car and kids situated. He said the person who checked him in was just kind of short with him and not super helpful - not mean, just also not pleasant. I know that doesn't sound like much, but when you're paying almost $1000 per month for the experience, we expect more. We've also had more at other properties, so it seems to be isolated tho this experience. Meanwhile, while the kids and I were gathering bags (and garbage - road trip!). The shuttle came back. We'd apparently parked in the way of the shuttle (whoops!), but the driver definitely gave "a look." I moved the car after hurrying the teen back in. By the time my husband was out, every kid was out of the car with a bag to take up. We travel frequently as a family, so we're actually fairly concise, even with a ton of younger kids. The same shuttle driver said we shouldn't go that way (through the front) because the parking lot was downstairs. I was already a little edgy because of "the look," and I should have just said, "No, we have it handled, but thank you!" Instead, we packed up all of the bags and kids and headed to park. For what it's worth, the elevator was just beyond the front desk.... Would have been just as easy to send everyone with bags up, then have the other adult park. After getting settled, the teen headed down to the gym. He asked the same shuttle driver where the gym was and was told it was closed but would open at 7am. After he returned I noticed that the note on the fridge said the fitness center was "always available to guests," so I called down to see if that meant 24 hours or something different. Sure enough, the gym was indeed open. Will we likely try this resort again? Probably. My husband especially enjoyed Breckenridge enough to want to come back. Am I super excited? Not really. Just in a "take it or leave it" kind of way. read more

You can be responsible for an unlimited amount of maintenance fees and assessments and believe me the Board loves to spend money. You can stay here anytime, but best in the winter for ski season or summer. have a shuttle to the lift at beaver run or the gondola. The shuttle is also great about taking you around this great town. Rent your skies right on site, or have them store your equipment for you. They have massage, hot tubs, pool, great gym, heated parking, game room, bar area with pool tables, and so much more. Easy walk to town, just a couple blocks from river walk and all shops/ restaurants on main street. Renting skies here is much cheaper than at the base of the ski slope. $35 for an intermediate package or $49 for the demo skies.they will also tune your personal skies overnight! Breckenridge has so much to offer now, check for events and a list of all the music and entertainment. read more

Repeat visitors to Valdoro Lodge and we will be back. The team was accommodating at every turn and you really feel like you are family. The star of the show was Wells! On our last visit, Wells was pouring cocktails in the bar and since the bar is closed he was helping with ski check and ski shuttle. He remembered our kids names and always made the shuttle ride more fun! It's a few hundred yards from the slope but the shuttle takes less than 2 minutes and is super easy. On-site ski rental, small shop for gear and storage makes equipment needs super easy. Some amenities were shut down because of Covid-19 precautions but the visit was still nice. Rooms are clean and spacious and have a full kitchen, laundry and fireplace. Both of our rooms also had a nice small balcony. Only gripe is the hot-tub area, it's an odd collection of 3 tubs in a dark grotto with a really low ceiling...1st world problem for sure but it's the only thing that wasn't 5-star worthy. I want to give the spa a three but given the rest of the reviews maybe I am missing something. I don't like spas in gyms. Personally, when I go in for a spa treatment - I don't want to have to ask for everything from soap to water or to have to keep walking in my robe past a workout room. I want to be asked if i want a male or female massuese. I don't want to be surrounded by kids in the steam room or have to walk out to the hall after a shower for a towel, just to realize a family of four just snagged them all for the shared hottub. I also don't want to be upsold fragrance in my oils/ lotions. I also want my masseuse to know what I asked for from their front desk when I come in. I didn't realize this was a Hilton property. On the flip side, massage was very nice, outdoor hottub a real treat, steam room very strong ( can burn your leg, careful jet right at leg level), treatment rooms very nice and cozy- a fireplace in couple's massage room and practitioners and staff super sweet. read more

We had a great stay at Valdoro Lodge. The rooms are very comfortable and modern. They are equipped with all the amenities you will need during your stay. The location is perfect and just a short walk to Main Street, and the ski lifts. They also provide a complementary shuttle to the different ski areas. We didn't have much interaction with the staff other than check in and check out, but everyone we encountered was very friendly and professional. This was our first visit to this location, but we will definitely consider staying with them again the next time we are in Breckenridge. read more

We come here once a year, as a sort of tradition. We love it! We feel fortunate that it's part of the Hilton Grand Vacations Club, as otherwise we wouldn't be able to stay at a place so luxurious or relaxing. Upon checkin I asked about the pool (it was still closed, unfortunately) and was offered coupons to the rec center, which is so awesome! We always go there, so having coupons is even better! Everything is always so clean, the staff is so friendly and accommodating, and now they extend the lounge happy hour during NFL games! I can lock up my ski gear, enjoy wine and free popcorn, play games with my kids, sit by the fire, and take the complementary shuttle to most of town. So glad we get to be here! read more

For reference: I'm an HGVC member and always stay at Hilton resorts on vacation. This place has most of what you're used to getting at an HGVC resort (full kitchen, washer/dryer, etc). I am currently staying in a 2 bedroom/2 bath suite on the back side of the building with my husband and our infant daughter. Pros: The unit is comfortably furnished and perfectly located. It's easy walking to food and shopping. A complimentary shuttle picks you up on request and drives you around town. The view from our balcony and windows is beautiful! Staff is friendly and helpful. There was a "pack and play" and high chair already in the room for my daughter. Also, the tub in the master bath is perfection! Cons: No food on site and the coffee downstairs disappears sometime in the afternoon. Other HGVC Resorts we've stayed at have all had a convenience type store on-site where we could get quick food, drinks, and other small necessities. If you, like us, are used to staying at these resorts, be prepared to buy groceries and cook on vacation - or leave the lodge and go into town for every meal. Edit: As I was writing this review, my daughter pulled an electric toothbrush from under the couch. Of course it went straight into her mouth before I realized what she had. It is NOT ours. Always enjoy our summer stay as owners. Rented bikes for the Vail Pass ride, with the discount. The outdoors grills are nice for us to use since we cook most evenings. Even the guitarist in the lounge and playing billiards was a change in our vacation routine. We were confused, tho, on the rule of having dogs. Two yappy dogs were across the hall from us. We mentioned this to the front desk. We were told that dogs are allowed because of privacy/personal issues in today's society. We understand having a service dog, which has been common for years. But dogs for emotional support, etc.? I believe these dogs were just along for the ride, after we saw them and the lady. As owners we did not appreciate having dogs in the condo. We will return again because we love those Rockies: the mountains and watching the team! read more

The people at Valdoro were extremely helpful and definitely added to our vacation in numerous ways - from late season ski options to dinner they were knowledgeable and helpful (thanks concierge Becky). When our baby got sick, they toiled to find us an open doctor's office as well. We were extremely grateful. The shuttle drivers were similarly wonderful. Their food and shopping advice was invaluable and at times they even held our baby while his grandmother got on and off the shuttle (huge shout out to Dirk and Jon). We found the layout of the garage nonsensical but were at the end of the season so the lot was not full. I imagine this would be a huge inconvenience if the lodge were at capacity. The rooms were nice with comfy beds and balconies (we had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath). The fireplace was a very nice touch. The lodge shares a pool with the adjoining condo association. It is indoor/outdoor and there are 3 hot tubs - one indoors and 2 larger ones outside. Tis complex was unimpressive and not up to the Hilton standard. On the first floor of the lodge there were 2 oversized hot tubs as well (next to the spa) - use these if you can. We found the property super-clean, warm, and friendly. We did not travel to Breckenridge for the parking garage or the shared pool, so I have no reservations giving this property 5 stars. read more

My husband loves to snowboard so this is our second time here from California. I think he has been here 4 times with his buddies from work. We have a 2 bedroom place and it is so comfortable. You have everything you need to cook and you can also do laundry (in your unit you have a washer and dryer). There is a shuttle service so you do not have to carry all your gear to the lifts. Whenever I need something and I call the front desk, they are always happy to help. There is a game room for the kids, hot tub in multiple places, and a fitness room. I can't wait to come back. I'm surprised there are no reviews for this place yet! It is simply one of the best places to stay right in the center of Breckenridge. The two bedroom suites with full kitchen are perfect for a group of friends that want to go skiing and snowboarding for a week! They have ski and snowboard storage on the first level, and also a shuttle that takes you to Beaver Run every 15 minutes I believe? The staff is extremely accommodating and the bar/lounge area has everything you need, from a sitting area to pool table and just relaxation after a long day on the slopes. I will be back again in the winter time to enjoy my fun in the snow! read more

This is a top notch place to stay if you are in Breckenridge. Everything from the concierge to the front desk to housekeeping to the the ski rental store are awesome! My personal favorite was how nice and helpful the shuttle drivers were which is important because if you use their services every day it helps if they are friendly. Everything in our condo here was up to date, modern, and clean. All of the amenities you can think of are provided at for you. We stayed here for four nights at the beginning of the ski season, and we will definitely be going back. The only reason it gets four stars instead of five is because there is something five star about being able to walk out the door of your lodge and onto the ski lifts which this place does not offer. However, it is only a short shuttle ride away to anywhere in the area you want to ski. read more

Just like the last reviewer from 2010, I'm also surprised there aren't more reviews for this place. I just got back last weekend from a 2 night relaxing stay with my family. That was my first time there, and definitely not my last. It was nice going up the weekend before ski/snowboard season started, didn't seem as busy in town, as my family and I were just looking for a nice r&r weekend. We stayed in a wonderful 2 bedroom suite. Very spacious, jet tubs in both bathrooms and a full size kitchen with all your dining and cooking amenities. I also thought the decorative style was nice as well, not just in the suite but throughout the property as well. Amenities throughout the building were pretty impressive too - good quality fitness room, hot tubs, bar/lounge area, game room, just about a little of everything for everyone. read more

We stayed for 2 weeks in May, which is the end of winter and the beginning of the off-season. During this time most of the town is closed, so restaurants, shopping and activities are limited. Overall the resort was nice (view, location, décor), but there were several issues during our stay. There were quite a few maintenance issues in our unit (shower door didn't seal causing large slippery areas, drawers not closing, balcony door stuck, heater torn apart, TV remotes didn't work, light cover damaged, dishwasher leaked, etc.). Some of it was fixed, but basically we were told that they are in the process of renovating and they are going to gut the room after we left and there was no point in fixing things for our stay. I was shocked! Not even any attempt to make our stay more comfortable or compensate us for the inconveniences. Additionally there were materials, furniture, etc. all over the garage and loud construction noises during the days. We had a package delivered to the resort and informed the front desk and they never told us it had arrived. Then when we got the email notification of delivery we asked them and they said it was there and if we wanted it to come get it. Wow. There was zero customer service from the front desk for anything and no concierge or help in finding things to do in the area. We had used the business center PC to print out some tickets and found years worth of other guests personal documents saved and in open view (tax forms, bank records, etc.). They obviously don't respect your privacy or safeguard your information. The parking garage (which you need to use in the winter) is so cramped you can't maneuver safely and it is one-way without a loop, so you have to back up and twist around to get to the exit gate. When we had called the resort prior to booking we had asked about the pool being open since it was still snowing a bit and were told it was open and accessible through and indoor area. Turned out that it was owned by the neighboring HOA and they had closed it for the off-season, leaving nothing for the resort guests. There were some ground floor units with private hot tubs, but we were not offered one of those. Maybe it is better during the winter season and after they finish renovating, but my expectations from a Hilton Grand Vacations Club property were not met. read more

They have a snow/ski store in the resort as well as a shuttle that takes you to and from beaver run if you want to snowboard/ski. Stayed in February for skiing and the rooms are clean and well appointed, the staff are super friendly and the hotel is very close to the lifts (and there's a shuttle bus running from the hotel to the base of the mountain/lifts). The only bad experience we had was with the grumpy barman; I wanted to try a taste of a bottle of wine before I purchased it - there was a bottle open for serving and he would only poor me a teaspoon of it as a taster - seriously! ;-) Anyway, suffice to say, all was well and we'll be coming back next year! :-) read more

We stayed here for a couple nights while in Breckinridge. The location is great, very close to the downtown area and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. They have a shuttle that will take you and pick you up which is always a bonus considering the parking situation in Breck. The other thing I really liked was the parking garage and how it is connected directly to each floor. No reason to have to go thru the lobby and then take another elevator to your room. The other perk was the game room which had ping pong, air hockey, and other arcade games. They have a nice weight room and spa also. The pool wasn't open when we were there so I can't comment on that. They also have a large lounge which you can use as a gathering place or just to hang out. They have a pool table, and chess in there, as well as a full bar on Friday and Saturday from 3-10pm. All other days you can BYOB and just chill there. Our room was ok. I didn't care too much for the set up. The second bedroom had two twin beds. Another note, although I liked the ceiling fan in our room which we ran on high as well as had the window open when it was 40ish degrees outside, it still somehow managed to be hot in the room. The beds were also not very comfortable. I didn't really care for the giant jacuzzi tub either as it made it very difficult to get in and out of the shower. I don't like doing hurdles in the bathroom. I am unsure if I would stay here again. I might want to check out some other places in the area. read more

I stayed in a two bedroom suite here with three kids and three adults and had a great time. The rooms are very nice, the beds are very comfortable, and the kitchen area has all the room and supplies you need to eat in. Both bathrooms were very spacious, but the master bath was particularly nice, with a very large tub and separate shower. The game room had free ping pong and a bunch of arcade games and the hot tubs were very large and hot. My wife had a facial at the spa as part of a half price deal and was very happy. The location is great, and if you are too lazy to walk somewhere they have a free shuttle that will take you wherever you want to go in town. read more

This is the closest HGVC location to our home and we decided to try it between seasons, with our toddlers, to get a feel and we had a great time! The hotel was terrific, great amenities, kitchen was fully supplied, detergent for the washer. (City Market grocery was not far away to keep us stocked.) Grills on the second floor were well-maintained. It was very quiet, even though we weren't far from the bustling lounge. DVD player was life-saver for tots needing daily Pixar fix. No shortage of towels, loved the fireplace and we also had a daily fox visit on our patio! The shuttle service was very, very helpful and convenient even though you aren't far from the south end of Main St. Selection of shopping was terrific, a little something for everyone. Not far at all from gondolas (which weren't running yet) or trails to Sawmills Reservoir. **Stuff for small kids: Mountain Top Children's Museum, Recreation Center, Summit County Library kids section and storytime, Peak-a-Boo Toys. We had a touch of snow and rented sleds from Alpine rentals (next to City Market) for $5 all day to run down at Carter Park. Lots of walkways and little parks. All restaurants family-friendly, with boosters, crayons and lidded cups. We had a great time and look forward to our next off-season visit! read more

The 2 bedroom plus included an outdoor hot tub, grill, and dining table which was awesome. The building was very clean and the kitchen in the unit has most basics you need. We were only a 5 minute stroll from main street which came in handy on evenings we didn't feel like driving for dinner. All the employees we encountered were helpful and welcoming, and I had an AMAZING hot stone massage in one of the spa rooms by the gym. I believe the masseuse's name was Amery?
