Unfortunately, after that illness and age, my hair had irreversibly changed and was too weak to take the processes it would take to make my "fantasy" happen. Naz was honest with me, empathetic and kind..she gave me realistic suggestions and "held my hand" throughout, used products that actually helped my hair and educated me on how to use them. I didn't walk out with the fantasy, but I did walk out with healthy, beautiful hair with a great cut. My husband noticed my hair right away (after 20 years of marriage this is a rare occurrence) and thought it looked amazing. I reached out via email and her assistant Jenn, who was an absolute pleasure to speak with, took down my details and told me she would check their team's schedules and let me know if they could accommodate me. I heard back within a couple of hours that they could take me! We took care of the final details (time, inspo pics, and the artist assigned to me) and i was all set. I received the location details and instructions for parking a day or so before my appointment, and the day i arrived, Meg was kind enough to guide me into the parking structure at her studio location. Her studio is LOVELY. I was welcomed warmly by Meg and her adorable rockstar pups! She asked if my mom and I were ok with them, and OF COURSE! She was SO COOL! She played really cool music, and even offered us a beverage. We had super pleasant conversation and her work...baby, her WORK...Meg is like supremely gifted. It was really important that I find one person who could do it all--hair, makeup for Indian skin, and "proper" dressing/pinning, as you never know what you'll get with a random "aunty" from your family. I did a trial with her for my engagement session, loved the work, and my professional photos came out great! I did something very simple and natural, and I didn't have any idea of what I wanted, so I told her to do whatever she thought would look nice on me. I was really impressed with her knowledge and technique. She has an amazing make-up spread as well! There is definitely a certain style I was looking for in my wedding look. I wanted to look like an Indian bride, but a lot of the Indian makeup artists out there are very heavy on the color and are into the "matchy-matchy" eyeshadows. I wanted to look more fresh and modern and wanted my make-up to complement my clothes, not compete with. I didn't even have to explain, because as soon as I started talking she finished my sentence. She knew exactly what I wanted from the get-go, and this is what I think sets her apart. Some of the other elite artists/companies out there, who I thought also suited my style (I ended up booking one of them because Ami wasn't available for one of my events) were really overpriced and/or had terrible customer service due to their no shortage of clientele. Like some of the other reviewers mention, Ami is very quick in responding to email/following up with you, being up front about costs, etc. She listens to you, and really makes every effort to accommodate her client's needs. Her price is competitive with other services out there, but you get exactly what you pay for--quality work and quality service. She had the added task of trying to conceal my puffy crying eyes on the day of (as I had some drama earlier in the day), but she did a great job and helped me ice my under eyes while she was setting my hair. Additionally, my community has a unique dupatta pinning style and with some pictures and the guidance of one of my friends, she was able to get it right on the first try. She also has some cool tricks to make the dupatta stay on your head! I highly recommend Makeup By Ami and follow her make-up blog as well! She really knows her stuff--you can tell from her own flawless style and make-up job! You won't be disappointed at all! Take it from me--a picky, perfectionist bride.

You pay 360 dollars for a make up and hair trial, and you…read morespeak with the one coordinator to set up a time but you don't know who will actually be rendering the services for your trial so there is no way to really vet their work beforehand or get a chance for you to select an artist that could deliver something you like from their portfolio. I wanted a soft blown out center part bouffant very close to what Kim Kardashian had in her wedding to Kanye. Also, I feel like that is a pretty common ask for bridal hair so I felt ok asking for it. The hair prep was a mix of really painful yanking and then rough blow drying. The teasing of the hair was excessive and then fell flat an hour later. Not to mention it was so frizzy right after it was done, it looked objectively bad.... There was no physical way it was going to last through my ceremony let alone an entire wedding day. We had to tweak it to be more sleek and tighter to my face. The two front sections were tied with a hair tie under the rest of my hair and were secured so sloppily and tight that I had to cut my hair out of the hair tie. The makeup... I asked for glam and showed a picture where it was like light brown eye shadow and a thick lash line with a wing that gives a retro vibe with a bronzed glowy face. The base make up was pretty light and shiny and then nothing was used to set my face other than a little pressed powder under the eye which creased immediately. No setting spray or anything was used. She used mostly colourpop, there were no high-end products, which for 360 dollars why am I paying that much for low end make up... anyway the make up was poorly blended, my under eyes were creasing as soon as we were finished. I gave critiques and asked to add bronzer to my cheeks and nose and forehead since there was only neon blush. The bronzer was added only to a very concentrated portion of my forehead and was not blended into my hair line and temples at all... I asked them to be cognizant of my skin tone and that a lot of viral shades pull really orange on me. That went out the window. The eye shadow was way too warm and accentuated the roundness of eyes despite me asking for a snatched look. I ended up doing my own eyeliner because after a few tries I wasn't getting what I wanted. I was shiny and my eyebrows were melting down my face. I was going to ask for more powder but after a series of tweaks like adding more concealer, and bronzer, fixing the eyeshadow, and adding a few individual lashes, the make-up artist was already packing up to leave and by that point it had been three hours and kind of a lost cause. Even if I wanted to recreate this makeup look, there was no evidence of them capturing the products used, and the order in which it was applied. Janel sends a "Details" email stating they will write down the all the products and processes used and make sure I am 100% happy. That did not happen... Do not waste your money on these people. There is very little transparency as to who from "Fiore beauty" is delivering the looks on their website. The trial is nonrefundable, trust me I tried. I figured I had to share my experience so that all these other brides and people needing glam can save their hard-earned money.
