He explained how they can't get help, if they hire people, especially younger workers, after they get their first paycheck they quit. Then sometimes try to come back. I've been going to this gas station for years as the location is super convenient, just a few feet from the I-84 entrance or exit and on the way to White Salmon. I can't fault them because they can't find or retain help as most all service industries are dealing with the same. Retailers, restaurants, farmers market vendors, lifeguards, grocery stores - it's happening everywhere. Prices were better than any other station at $4.39 for regular which is $4.49 in Troutdale and still over $5 in Portland. They also have a food mart but I've never had a reason to go in there. Asked the attendant why this happened and was told this change happened about 3 or so weeks ago with no explanation as to why. There were limited pumps available and you I had to enter in how much I wanted to spend so I couldn't fill the entire tank. Inside the station the bathroom definitely needed a cleaning.
