Fantastic cut! After moving from LA to Seattle last year, I tried a few places before landing at Valiant after driving by it. The other places couldn't compare! The quality of cut matches my favorite spots like Blind Barber and Service & Supply in LA. Now I actually prefer Valiant before returning home! I work with Colton who I highly recommend. Went for my first time yesterday after work. Colton killed it. I just moved to Seattle recently and my old barber back in Chicago suggested Colton based off his Instagram. Super easy to make an appointment online and you don't gotta waste your time waiting around. Shop is simplistic and traditional. Easy to find. Parked for free across the street in the garage under the market. I never know what to tell a barber so I usually just let them do their thing with minimal guidance. Don't go to Ben for your fades. I asked for a simple 4 to 1 fade and he did it in about 15 minutes. That should've been a warning sign but I didn't think much about it while leaving the barbershop. After a week or two I could start to see the fade uneven everywhere across my head. What an awful, first experience at Valiant. I don't think I'll be going back. read more

This place sort of defies words. Or maybe there are plenty of appropriate words but my vocabulary sucks. I shall investigate. But I digress...Valiant is superb. I'm writing this review based on 3 visits total by my 2 boys. Easy to book a haircut, it's all done online. You choose your stylist, service, date & time and voila! You're booked. Prices are very fair. At first I thought $40 seemed steep, but they were so highly recommended that I thought I'd at least give it a try. And my boys were really growing out of the $25 cuts that they had been getting since they were 4, go figure. I also thought the 1-hour timeslot allotted to each cut was an overstatement or gave the stylist 20 mins between cuts, but I was wrong. The cuts take almost the full hour because the guys are SO detail oriented. They all cut hair like an artist, even when it's the hair of a teenager. They talk to the client, then cut, then look, then cut more, then look more, etc. I swear they will go after 1 stray hair if it's out of place and needs to be cut back another millimeter! They are serious professionals but without one ounce of snobbery. The shop itself is filled with 50-year old barber chairs, mirrors, and the most fun stylists you'll ever meet. Seriously, I always want to adopt at least one of them every time we go. They are nice, fun, entertaining, interesting, caring, etc. Emilio always takes the time to tell my kids what to do to get their hair to style a certain way, which makes their hair look great for the duration of the cut. I got my haircut here last week and it was a great experience. Despite the website lacking clarity on their COVID-19 policies, when I got there they had signs up describing their strict philosophy. They followed those guidelines to a tee. The haircut was great. A little more expensive than I had gotten previously at Rudy's but more convenient to where I lived and worth it if you are considering a higher priced haircut. Recently moved to Seattle after 8 years in NYC and was struggling to find a barber. Glad I linked up with Tyler from Valiant. He is the consummate professional. For my first cut, he offered a comprehensive overview of my hair type i.e. the way it lies, cowlicks, etc. Then, he got in the kitchen and straight cooked up the best fade, line-up of my life. His buzz technique is impeccable and he uses a variety of different tools. He understands angles and blends the top trimming with the cropped sides. Brandon has been my stylist for the past 6 months and I'm very overdue in posting a review about how talented he is. In fact, I (along with all of his other clients undoubtedly) have followed Brandon from a prior shop to continue seeing him here at Valiant. I have incredibly difficult-to-style hair due to tons of cowlicks and fairly dense hair. Prior to seeing Brandon, I've been keeping my hair short and wearing a very dated style due to being "hair challenged." After mentioning my desire to Brandon to have a more contemporary hairstyle, he said "let's make it happen!" and put me right at ease. I was slightly skeptical based on all my prior stylists struggling with my hair for the past 10 years, and having them just suggest I keep it short. Brandon got to work and did pure magic on my hair. During the timeframe of going through the grow-out phase, he even managed to cut my hair artfully to help make my transition period from short to longer hair looking great. Brandon truly did wonders on my VERY hard to cut and style hair. He's even been taking the time to teach me how to style my hair so that I look like I walked out of Valiant every day. I'm feeling absolutely great with my new hairdo and feel very fortunate that I originally discovered Brandon. He is exceptionally talented. Brandon's top-notch skills are worth a drive across the city and I'll continue to do so. If you want to get your haircut here you should make sure to get a reservation on their website because they fill up fast. This is the kind of barbershop that once you've been, you don't really want to ever go back to the chains that pop up in most neighborhoods. It's four guys who seem to really care about taking care of their customers to give them a good cut. They all seem to really like working together and shoot the sh!t while cutting your hair. They pay pretty meticulous attention to each cut and even though it usually takes 30 minutes at most places, it takes closer to an hour here. It may seem like a long time for a dude to get his haircut, but they're really paying attention to balance on each side, so it doesn't get floppy on one side of your head, they make sure the fade is very even, that the length is just right. That extra time is really worth it for a good cut. They even use a straight razor to clean up the edges and give it a really fine finish. Definitely glad to see a real barbershop show up in the city and not just another place to get a haircut. read more
