Just called sat on hold for half hour talked to 3 people to figure out the price of tri tip they say 4.99 so I drive down from palm desert and it's 5.99 . Manager like , the guy on the phone doesn't speak English. His worker translates for me that he cannot honor the price I explain to the worker that you just waste my time driving all the way over here and he just says he won't honor it and I told him I would just never come back. Stopped here on they recommendation of a friend for locating specialty Latin foods that you can't locate at a grocery store. As we both enjoy cooking different ethnic foods I'm happy I stopped in. I located the items she wanted & of course I found a few items for our home. Upon entering I noted, the store is very clean, orderly and the staff are so friendly, I felt I was coming to a neighborhood store where folks know your name. I initially took a hand basket but upon entering the beautiful produce section, I found fruit I had never seen. And of course I had to try. The aisles are beautifully displayed like you're in a posh grocery store, seriously that beautiful! While I was looking for this particular item, I apparently looked lost, I was asked if I needed help, seriously who does that nowadays? He took me directly to what I needed but found choices of it it many brands. Eek! Time to FT the gf to which item she wanted. This store has a gorgeous fresh bread section, food counter which I had to try. My burrito was great not overly filled with rice & with a side/choice of hot sauce. And their drink choices are also expansive. I chose a fresh banana drink & also very good. So this will be a stop I will have to make next time I'm in that area. read more

Had the most awful experience here while at work with my clients who have intellectual disabilities. My coworkers were rung up for their food and paid but I guess the employee didn't ring up a soda and while I waited for one of my coworkers to finish paying for their food, we came out to find our other coworkers and clients being harassed by the security guard and this lady who I assume was the store manager, accusing them of stealing the soda, which mind you, the guy had rang up supposedly and even told them they could purchase it at that specific register when we asked. We gave the soda back because we weren't going to take it if it wasn't rung up, and the snooty lady then apologized after making a big scene in the middle of the parking lot. She stole the dignity of my clients and coworkers and upset them so much that they didn't end up eating the food they had purchased there. We were are very upset and thrown back by it. Like we had purchased all of that food and other things, why in the world would we steal a freaking soda??!? I understand you're short staffed, well so are we and everyone else but would never in a million years make anyone feel so Belittled over something like this. Why didn't they tell us when it was rung up that it didn't ring up or That we couldn't pay for it there instead of accusing them of stealing? Honestly I don't know if we will ever be back because of this awful and prejudice service. read more

Very, very impressed with this supermarket, a new addition to the northeast end of the Coachella Valley. First, it is beautifully merchandised and well-stocked with lots of allergen-friendly (gluten free selections, Daiya cheese, etc) and organic (produce) items. The store boasts a coffee/gelato bar, fresh ceviche and sushi bars, a "candy shop" with bin candy, a fantastic carniceria, and even a taproom!! Plus, a fantastic selection of food products imported from Mexico. It is well-staffed (*every* single associate is bilingual) with very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable people, always immaculately clean and well-stocked. In addition to regular check-out, there is quick and convenient self-checkout. My food allergies keep Sprouts and Whole Foods in my rotation, but Vallarta is so close, I shop here at least 1-2X per week. Highly recommended! read more

I travel for work (construction). Every time I go here to get basic groceries, everyone is very helpful. I usually get dinner at their food court/kitchen. All of their kitchen are extremely helpful and go above and beyond. The kitchen people who make your food always make you feel welcome. I've always enjoyed visiting Vallarta market while visiting my grandfather in Delano. I was happy to hear that we were getting one in Indio. While the crowds are too much for me right now, the store is beautiful. The fruit tarts look like works of art and are so good! The Fuego roll & calamari salad at the sushi bar were also delicious. While I didn't buy any, all of the flower arrangements were vibrant and fresh. I will visit again soon once the crowds die down a little. read more

Very nice market, wonderful selections and very neat and clean. The staff were friendly and I enjoyed the hot tamales and pastries I bought. The store doesn't feel too expensive or too cheap. Think around whatever you'd spend at stater brothers and then take off maybe 5-10%. There is an enormous selection of raw meat and poultry to choose from and it's very nice to have all the options. Thanksgiving was made easy here, they had whole foil trays of stuffed chickens or turkeys raw to take home and cook yourself, or the whole things already cooked and ready to buy as well. You can easily purchase your thanksgiving meal here and bring it to the table. And I'm sure this will be yearly for them so if your in a spot where cooking is impossible. A wonderful meal can come from this place pretty quickly. The Mexican cheese selection was amazing and the little candy corner was cute and pleasant. Pastries delicious and cheap. read more

Advantage on behalf of Vallarta is of course the mexican selection and variety of prepared foods like shrimp cocktail to caldo to chicharon. Haven't been to market but the hot food dept was terrible. Line was super long and slow. We waited almost an hour. We ordered tacos as this was the special and why we came. We watched many people ahead of us get an abundant of meat in each taco and were excited for our turn figuring they must be good. When we finally got to front of line the guy we got must have been new. He was slow and not friendly. Speaking very low with a mask and pretty noisy in line we could not hear him. We ordered and and mentioned to him his portions were much smaller than others ahead and behind us. He did nothing. Said nothing. Just wrapped us up and brought us to the checkout line. I would not go back!! The tacos were good but so disappointed in the amount of meat and lack of customer service and friendliness was unacceptable. read more

The hot food sucks. Tried them twice the first time they gave me the wrong food. I gave them a second shot and got baked chicken it was so dry I couldn't swallow it. Nasty. This store is very nice well stocked and very clean. They have everything you need but the only thing is it is over priced. It's like comparing Walmart to Whole Foods or Jenson's. If you want to shop in Confort this is your store with a friendly staff but if you want to save money I would try another store. read more

I am upping my review from 3 stars to 4. I'm a jaddes hard sell. Because I'm disabled I dike shopping multipul stores. Villarta is an exception. Hubby and I have been to this market 3x in 2 weeks. We live in Thousand Palms so it's a bit of a drive as we have Sams and Wal Mart across the street. I'm giving this as a "Caucasian" even this is a "Mexican" market. I bought 2 6.5 packs of chicken legs last week. 39 CENTS A POUND!!! MANAGER SPECIALS!!! My family LOVED them marinated in teriyaki sauce and grilled. We BOMB!! I have a dozen testing in my freezer. Last night I bought fresh Tillalia fillets at $1.99 a POUND. Fish is expensive. I don't eat fish, hubby does. We WILL go back to get more fish while the sale is on. YES, I liked it!! We bought flour tortillas. EXCELLENT! The corn tortillas were still warm, just too many for us. A pack of 30 is about 30 to many, but not did they smell GOOD. MY suggestion is to plant your shopping trip through the weekly add and plan your meals around that ad. You can get off track and budget if you wonder into the aisles of the store. Work the outside and know your prices before you buy. I should add that I had to use my walker to shop the store when they didn't have an available ekectric cart. Hubby and I were out all day and I was at the end of walking even behind a walker. My legs where rubber. Hubby was heading out to get the car and pick me up. I went to sit down on the chair at the exit, thinking if I sit down I can get my walker close to me so I could pull the walker close so people could get out. Dumb move. I FELL on the floor. The kind peopke at the store were so kind to me. I was very embarrassed. Even now, I'm embarrassed. The managers and employees where so kind to me, and helped me up.
