I visit Palm Desert often, and this has become my go-to grocery store. It's clean, well-stocked, and organized, and depending on how people are driving, easy to get in and out of. I am surprised they don't have self-checkout, though. Sometimes I just want a couple of items, and they're faster, but it's not a deal-breaker for me unless I have to start waiting in line. I love getting my cakes from Albertsons--their bakery was recommended by my sister, who also gets all her cakes here and always has a great experience. The staff is super helpful and really brings my cake ideas to life, and the main cake decorator (I wish I remembered her name!) always does an amazing job. Their cakes are moist, delicious, and can be filled with anything; my favorite is the white cake with fresh strawberries and strawberry jam. They used to be known for having great fried chicken so I purchased the 8 piece today. Discovered the hairs left on the soggy chicken! I don't think they clean the chicken. I recently went to Albertsons. When I got home and unpacked my purchase, I realized I was missing 2 items. I went the next day to get the 2 items, which was a bottle of water and gum. In speaking with the director, you would have thought I was trying to steal my complete purchase. I had my receipt. He talked about reviewing the camera film. I told him I had an issue with this store before and stopped shopping at Albertson. Well I will not shop at Albertsons again. Also I'm not sure whats going on with their deli, but its not close to being as great as it was when Christy was in the deli. And their bakery has changed too. As I was leaving I told the clerk to be sure to show the director, I was trying to 'rip the store off' so much I donated $10.00 to the food fund the store is collecting. read more

Sales are great here. Cheaper than another major grocery store across the street. Usually the help and Cashiers are great here as well. Until this evening. Cashier Santos is zero at helping when confused about how to use my "U" to obtain discounted prices. He just said you need to clip. That's it. Laziness with this employee. read more

Wish I could put zero star! This review is specifically for the Deli counter and a specific individual. Ryan, get this the deli manager, is one of the rudest individuals I've come across in customer service. He lacks proper hygiene and food handling skills as well. He looks very dirty and never uses gloves when handling food as he serves you. He shoves his bare hands directly in the bags before grabbing your items. I have had to ask him on two separate occasions to please throw away the bag and put gloves on before handling my food. I walk away now when I see that it is him helping at the counter. ALWAYS treats the customer as though we are a bother to him and or ignores you completely. I have mentioned him to the front cashiers, which they in turn have stated that I am not the first person or only who have had a horrible experience with him and come to say something. Amazing he is still there and in a position of management. Today, I walked away again from the counter when I noticed he was helping. The customer in front of me shared a similar experience with him and today was so upset she chose to talk to the manager Angel. I hope this manger does something about Ryan. But unfortunately he himself is not the best at customer service. For the prices that Albertsons charges, unless it part of a good deal, you would expect better customer service all around but most of these workers are "burnt out" and only a few are friendly and customer service oriented. I really don't know what is going on with this store ?? Been going here for years . Last 6 months , deli is disgustingly dirty , food not moved because it is crusty and dark on top .. plus no one to help ..today I went because it is close and I just had knee surgery. Cheese on sale with a U clip coupon , most packages were dated March 2024 , plus I showed the worker in that area , he removed some and then there was a big huge fly dead in between the bags of shedded cheese . He said " not really dead just stunned " gross .. lots of the sour dough bread was expired .. so they really don't care anymore .. I just wanted to know if they had tomatillos, I called while my husband was on his way to the store a man answered the phone he said he knew what tomatillos are, left me on hold for 5 minutes I'm assuming to ask if someone would confirm if they had them. 8 minutes in later someone answered the phone what it sounds like another man talking in the background. Proceeded to put me on hold again 9 minutes in Gerard answered the phone and informed me they did have tomatillos he apologized for the wait he stated he works in a different department he wasn't able to get no assistance to my question so he had to leave his department and go look for himself. He Informed me the price and apologized again for the wait. By this time sense my husband didn't get a response he decided to go to a different store instead. Maybe one of the nicest stores I have visited. Very clean, staff was very helpful and no lines. Came to get a few things here and was very impressed by everything in the store. Personally I enjoyed walking by the clean aisles and well kept store. Their sections and store arrangement were very nice and signage was easily visible. They also have red box units (2 of them) which was great. I would recommend this store for sure as oppose to others. read more

Not a good place to shop during COVID. After walking around and looking at overpriced meats, very average looking fruits, I had my cart full of stuff to get by. I noticed that the staff in general were not particularly helpful. Why the two stars? Not because these employees are not particularly friendly which is OK, but after they rang all of my groceries I was informed the store had no bags. I just stared at the CHECKER dumbfounded. . How am I supposed to carry all of this since we are not supposed to bring our own bags into stores these days? Why was I not informed of this when I walked into the store? I had lots of fruits and vegetables and unloading them and having them roll around my entire car where I have no bags, in 110° heat, ridiculous. I go here for lunch during my work breaks to pick up their fresh made sushi and a monster energy, I've never been disappointed with their rolls, I always get the tuna/salmon one with crab filling. I've tried a lot of different grocery store sushi and theirs is the best by far. I work right next to Ralphs, within walking distance from my work, but I get in my car and drive to Albertsons' across the street cause their sushi is just that much better! read more

Wow, I've been shopping at this location for months! & all of a sudden when I buy groceries/BOTTLE OF WINE with my husband, they seriously asked us for both of our IDs! I just think it's crazy that if my husband didn't have his ID on him we wouldn't have been able to even pay! Because their ATM machine ate my debt card a week ago! I only get as far as the deli because that's the only place I need to go. They have this thing called "express meal." You get your meat, wedges, and any side dish in the cold section. It's like 5-6 bucks. Marketta, I think that's how it's spelled, in deli - she's a doll! Very sweet lady. She has excellent customer service skill! I was having a sad and terrible day when I went in and got lunch. Marketta was just being her usual, happy and sweet self. She really did turn the rest of my day around! I would give zero stars if I could for their absolute lack of customer service. It is 9 o'clock on a Saturday night. There are probably 2 or 3 other customers in the store, and two checkers just standing at the check stands that are empty of customers. The shelf is empty and I asked the stock clerk if he could look in the back for something for me. He told me no, he didn't have time, and then he told me to check on another aisle. My husband just stopped by Albertsons to pick up cupcakes for a guest. He was standing in line with an elderly lady behind him. The checkers were laughing, texting, and were acting a bit out of control as if there was NO manager on site. While they were standing waiting to be acknowledged, another employee arrived and cut in front of the two and proceeded to check her items out. They remained laughing and texting on their phones, just going along their merry way, with absolutely no respect for the customers waiting to check out. There was an assistant manager who was also contributing to the chaos! Another employee, not the assistant manager, offered to check my husband and his cupcakes on another register. This young man grabbed the cupcakes and turned them upside down, smashed the frosting, ruining the cupcakes! My husband was very upset and told them, never mind, keep your smashed cupcakes. As he was walking out of the store, the employees that were causing the chaos, yelled at my husband in a derogatory attitude, "bye, have a nice day" while laughing at him and utterly disrespectful! I decided to call the store. I asked for the manager, not the assistant manager (as I knew he was involved, and I wanted to speak to his boss),the young man on the phone stated that he was the assistant manager. I asked him if he was involved in what just happened, he replied, "N0" I proceeded to tell him the story and I noticed that he was not very nice or helpful. I hung up and called my husband and found out the the very person I just spoke to was the assistant manager that allowed all of this to happen! He LIED, he covered up for his wrong doings and his employees. I would like to have a "real" manager contact me immediately. We must do better in our community, we must treat everyone with respect, and not run our local stores as a free for all, filled with young adults, who do not care about their job, store or customers. I am outraged at the customer service and the assistant manager who lied and who did not send my call to the appropriate manager on staff. I would recommend NOT going to this store until they rectify their staff and treat people respectfully. Maria the manager just called me and I went ahead and changed my one star to 3 stars. The reason I did so, was not because the incident didn't happen, but it was her kindness that was appreciated. She did not offer anything, just a sorry. This Albertsons is so clean and well stocked. Even the bathrooms are clean. No, I don't go shopping to use the bathroom, but I have three kids. Chances are one of them has to go. We were fortunate to happen upon an alcohol sale. We scored some really nice bottles of wine. Ten bottles to be exact. This market had everything we were looking for. And items that I know our market back home doesn't carry. So we picked up a lot more than needed. We spent about $100 and saved $85. That's a deal! read more

Very poor customer service. Never more than 2 checkers working and most of the time no baggers. Most of the time the express lane is closed. Many dated items which have passed their "sell by" date still on shelves. Does not appear to be managed properly. Most of the time there is no manager on duty. The deli, well you can forget it. Never enough personnel on duty. Very poor attitude shown customers. Seems they would rather customers go away than wait on them in the deli. Their plan has worked well though. I will never buy food from the deli again. The only reason I even shop at this Albertsons is because they are very close to where I live. Vons is starting to look pretty good. They have more checkers working, food which is not past it's sell by date, and employees who seem happier and more attuned to customers needs. Everyone here has great customer service. I went to Ralph's to get some fried chicken and it wasn't self serve. You had to take a number. I waited 10 minutes and they were calling number 62 and I was number 68. I tried to ask a question to a person behind the counter and no one had time to answer me or respond.
