Stopped by Stater Bros meat dept counter with no idea what to make for dinner. I just knew that I wanted the beef flanked ribs that were on sale. Jakob, the kid behind the counter, suggested to make them Hawaiian style with a Hawaiian macaroni salad. I quickly looked up a recipe and saw how easy it was. It did not disappoint! It was so delicious, my family was happy! The Indio Stater Bros. market recently underwent a remodel. The store interior is much improved, and even features a fruit and juice bar in the produce dept. which is really nice. I knocked a star off, because since the remodel, a lot of the in-store bakery items such as fresh bread, handmade tortillas, and desserts don't seem to be as abundant. They are difficult to find in the store, because the product placement is inconsistent with what those items are, and then when you do find them, there isn't a lot in stock. A small disappointment, but overall still a very nice grocery store. read more

My wife was craving Staters Fried Chicken (Cleo & Leo) on Friday. We usually get it at the store in La Quinta and enjoy it very much. But I happened to be in Indio that day so I went there. They did advertise Cleo/Leo so I figured what could go wrong. I ordered the usual 8 piece box that includes 2 each of breast, thighs, wings and legs. When I got home I opened it up and found I got 4 LEGS, thighs and breasts. What a shock since I love their wings. The taste was not much better. It was over cooked and very dry. The whole box went into the trash. What a shame. read more

The closing staff that was there on 1/31/25 looked absolutely miserable. The epitome of someone who hates their job. The cashier that helped me looked like he hated his job. I had an issue with my debit card I was trying to apologize to the woman in the front (glasses with long hair and a headband) because it was taking long. I looked at her right in the face and she couldn't even bother looking my way to acknowledge the fact that she was being talked to by a customer. It was like I was talking to a wall, kinda embarrassing because it looked like I was talking to myself. So rude. She clocked out for a break a few minutes later so I guess she couldn't even bother with me because her break was all she cared about. The bag boy was nice and the only one who was nice. These folks are so good I called them from Canada to thank them personally for their hard work during the coachella festival weekends. They kept the store clean, the shelves stocked, and the checkout times under five minutes, in the face of thousands of unruly shoppers. The deli sandwiches are the best ready-to-eat value in the entire state, as far as I'm concerned. To whom it may concern, Our son had his 20th birthday recently. We celebrate his annual tradition by purchasing a cake from this store. Getting a cake from this store has been a cornerstone of our tradition as we all look forward to what your bakery offers. This has been going on for 20 years... sadly, I feel the cake tradition has ended by an extremely dry and lackluster cake unfavorable by all who attended. It pains me to make such scathing statements but it is true in fact and very disheartening. To say good bye to a tradition is not east and especially to a location that has been our go-to for so long. Today was a hard day for my family. But with the help of one of your workers, Yliana Diaz, it was just a little bit easier. I called last minute for a big order of fried chicken, knowing it was a big request, but Mrs Diaz went into action! I am so impressed with the professionalism and customer service I received over the last couple of days from the Indio Stater Brothers. I had placed a large seafood order. The next day I received a call from the meat dept. supervisor, Adrian. He went over my order to check on all the details. He ordered the items and in a few days he called me back to let me know all items had been received by the store and would be ready for me to pick up. I really appreciated the calls as I was apprehensive about not getting what I wanted. Adrian was great. He eased my mind and assured me that he had checked all the items. When I arrived to pick up my order, a gentleman named Larry was the person behind the meat counter. He was busy, but did not rush me and took extra care to make sure I got everything I ordered. Then I went to the register to pay. A young gal, Cassandra took me to a register without a line of people and personally rung up my purchases. Cassandra was professional and cheerful. She helped load my car as well. I kept thinking about how each and every staff member I encountered there was so helpful and wonderful to speak with. They made me feel confident about my order (the quality of the items). As I thought about how they seemed to all have the same courteous mindset and because I have been a manager for 45 years in food service, I knew their Manager probably has trained them very very well. A friend recommended SBs for their meat, quality and price. I stopped in a month ago and bought bone in ribeye for less that $6/lb. today I bought shoulder pork roast for $1.19. The "loss leader" meat sales prices are awesome. It was so refreshing seeing an actual butcher preparing the meat since so many stores get their meat in precut. Today an announcement went over the speaker that there was a clean up needed in an aisle. I saw a young Caucasia female employee with long dark hair and glasses take off like a bullet to go clean. Earlier she was working a broom diligently. Wow. Great work ethic! I wish I remembered her name to give her a shout out. Give that girl a raise! Or at least a free sandwich. :-) I'll be back. I've been coming to this stater bro's for years my parents moved arounD the corner when I was a freshmen in high school love it here, I still come hear even tho I have a Ralph's on Jefferson that is so closer to me, living In the hideaway but anyways, today I've never been more insulted in my life my daughter and I were in there grabbing her snack so I didn't bother to get a cart wIth my hands full and Her's as well I put a water and a bottle of root beer in my bag and not thinking much of it because they heavy i couldn't forget they or in my bag Anne they both were cold, like I said I didn't think much of it, well the manager saw this and Bang on the window in the upper office super loudly, he could have came down and said something but didn't! I feel I was being discriminated against I have a shunt on my arm that I can't care much on it, and if he would have came down he would have seen, I paid for everything the cashier even knows me we been coming for years my whole family has, well this is the last time I will ever be coming here... sadly I feel like he took one look at me aNd thought because I looked like I've been on the st that I wasn't going to Pay!!! I don't ever usually come to this location or stater brothers in general. But I needed a quick milk option and cash back so I decided to go. Me and my friend who is pregnant walked into the store and she immediately got escorted out because the manager confused her for someone else. My friend got kicked out and harassed by the manager Francine for no reason. Francine said that she has pictures of her stealing but when she tried to show her the photos of my friend stealing she quickly put them behind her back to hide the evidence. She completely pointed a finger at my 8 montb pregnant friend causing stress and agitation. I have shopped at Staters for over 40 years. Recently I noticed they switched to Randall Farms Chicken from Foster Farms. Foster Farms is a much higher quality chicken. I sent them feedback and they never responded. I went to Walmart on Jefferson and bought Foster Farm fresh and natural chicken breast for $1.85 a pound. Staters Flyer had Randall Farms for $1.99 a pound. I believe the company is going through major changes and their, "It's our meat that made us famous" no longer rings true. I have talked to a lot of folks who feel the same way. Do yourself a favor and check out other markets like Albertsons, etc. read more

I like the place , its clean ,it has most of the time great specials.. The employees are always asking you if there's anything you need.. Very efficient people at check out, the one thing they lack of, its that when you go at night and some approval its needed from the manager !!, first it holds back the line and the manager takes its time to come , and after they give the approval they don't open an other register . . . This is by far my favorite grocery store! It hasn't lost its family friendly vibe that most stores have lost along the way. It's refreshing to be asked if I need help, and to offer to help me to my car at checkout! I was trying to calm down my 8 month old in the cart and the person bagging groceries assured me everything was okay and even unloaded my groceries to be checked! What could have been such an embarrassing moment for me, was lifted by the quick help of the employees at this store! It's nice to have a real butcher cutting my meat, knowing I am cooking the most fresh meat for my family is another bonus of shopping at staters! This location is always perfectly stocked, super clean and easy to find what you're looking for! Everything makes sense where it is placed instead of tortillas at some end cap on the other end of the store from the bread like some stores. By the second day of Coachella we were intensely craving a salad, so we drove around looking for a grocery store. We didn't even know what Stater Bros was, but after Googling it, I realized it was a "full service supermarket". After entering the store we realized it was a huge, cheap grocery store that had almost everything we wanted for the rest of the trip. We were directed to the salad bar where we made ourselves the most amazing salad! It tasted soooo good and had all sorts of delicious toppings!! I've been craving another one ever since.
