yesterday I bought a drill bit from them. It was so bad, it didn't even fin the job. Thos bits were not expensive but they cost me time. I went back to the store with this bad product to return them and advise them to not carry this kind of stuff to sell to customers. The customer service person asked me to wait until the manager came and told me that they would not return tools so he can't refund me back my money. I used to deal with other stores and they accept all returned items if it's bad even without any questions. it was a bad experience for me to face this situation with the manager. read more

First time here and what a treat! Came in to buy shelving which had to be cut. An older gentleman with white hair and a baseball hat greeted us and asked if he could help us, we explained we need some shelving. He escorted us to the rear of this huge store to a young man named David who proceeded to explain that he could cut us three shelves from half a sheet of top grade plywood. We opted for his suggestion and voila! He was done in 10 minutes! Great service, veteran discount and pleasantry! We'll be back and kudos to David in lumber. I might add that we visited Home Depot first and were greeted by many of their staff but couldn't care to help us. All were pleasant with their greeting but no one was able to help us, only tell us it's in lumber! No one there to assist us so we walked out! read more

Their hardware/nut & bolt section is top notch. Reminds of a fastenal or mini McMaster carr... they even sell individual hardware items like heim joints, taps/dies, rivnuts in all sorts of different grades, and compositions. Place is rad! I tried returning some merchandise I had purchased recently. I was told they couldn't match the SKU number. So I left the goods on the counter and retrieved identical items to show them that they were on their shelves. The cashier called the manager over who told me that he would not take back any items without a receipt. When I told him that I was a regular customer and I just wanted to return a few items of the many I had purchased, he started getting aggravated and repeated he would not take the $20 worth the items back. Well this place REALLY is one for the books. I have come here for years, never had any problems. I started doing geocaching with my 2 kids and we wanted to hide one there. Some guy (Bill who is apparently a manager) walks across across parking lot over to me and my two small kids waving and blowing his cigarette in our face!!! Tells me what am I doing, I explain to him and said it's not a big deal we will just leave. Then he starts getting aggressive and yelling! For no reason. Me and my kids were leaving. It was a very unpleasant and scary situation. I spend/spent lots of money here but will definitely be taking the extra 5 mins to drive to true vaule because this places is so disrespectful. I even called to address this situation and the guy said I wasn't SEXUALLY harass so it's not a problem for them. Bought a bag of dogfood here didn't realize at the time that the bag had been taped up on one side. Get home with what was supposed to be 40 pounds of dogfood get it out car realize hey this bag feels light and see the tape job on the side. Take it in weigh it and it is exactly 20 pounds of dogwood that they just charged full price of $36.99 for. Go back to store with it and ask manager to refund half price since it'sliterally half a bag. He advisedhe would only take 10 % off even though myself and my husband advised it was only half a bag. He said nope 10 percent off is all he will do. Refunded in full went to feed store and bought full bag for same price. Before we left store he advised sweet cashier to put it back on shelf 10 percent off and not to sell for any less!!!! I would love to support this place as it is close to our house. However their selection is very limited and then their prices are exorbitant. We were just in to get some polyurethane that costs $11.98 at Lowe's and Valle Vista wanted $24.99 for the same item. I do understand that they would need to make a more money to compete with a large store like Lowe's or Home Depot. We asked a sales associate to check the price and was told that that is what it is. I asked if they could double check as I showed him the price at Lowe's and he said "they won't do anything on the price at Valle vista and told us to try true value down the street. They are a full service hardware store and they have have some extraordinary employees to assist with questions and help you find just what you need. They seem to have every unusual fastener you can think of. I have used it to find screws, bolts, stoppers, bits of brass, etc. They are pricier than other options in the San Jacinto Valley, but by the time I have spent 30 minutes driving to the other side of town that price is not as important. This place is by far one of the worst overpriced stores in town. The only thing they have going for them is they are local. Been in numerous times, and sometimes just to estimate and browse housewares and home repairs for future fixes. Ive had the Mexican guy call me out to the lumber yard as if he wanted to fight, after asking him if he thinks I'm stealing something. He seemed to be having a bad day as I was joking about him tailing me around the store from the fencing to the garden area etc. On top of all this as I'm waiting in line, and next up, and older white gentleman starts opening a register. As another white gentleman stands behind me. The new cashier looks at the white customer behind me and asks him to come forward.
