The room (we stayed in The Freida) is perfect for two people. Very nice semi-private patio and a wonderful jacuzzi tub for two which we used several times a day. The property is large (two acres) and well maintained and the common areas are lovely, clean and appropriate for large or small parties if people. This inn is in a secluded location and is very quiet and comfortable. I highly recommend a stay at this inn.

Grounds: I enjoyed the walking trails, the yoga yurt, the firepit, the labyrinth and the fact that a mile down the road is an amazing ice cream shop. This is a fun place for birding as it's not far from a creek and related trees along the small river valley. Most guests will like the pool/sauna/hot tub and I was more into sitting on the lawn to star gaze or watching the sunset from one of the hanging chairs. It lives up to its name. Food: Chef Brigita broke mold set from prior vegetarian-first chefs in my experience. She understands how to work with spices for flavor, acids and fats for balance, and textures for mouth feel. Instead of claggy oatmeal we had 5 grain porridge. Instead of plain rice it was spiced with cilantro or other blend. Crema on smoked beans had lime blended in. The creamy miso dressing or the coconut curry were divine and the olive oil chocolate cake should win awards. Even if I had not visited to relax through a retreat, the location itself provided support for unwinding and slowing down.

I had a difficult time at the snow mansion…read more I just wrote about it this morning and already i recieved no response from the owner and from any of the staff members there. in the summer of 2020 I visited the snowmansion for a few months and a few days into my stay I fell into the septic tank. A kind resident had the curtesy to smudge me off and to get me through the shock. She took the responsibility of helping me because it happened as I was helping her with a dragon sculpture. We turned out to be closer during my stay and my respect for her stayed good. They noted that I was luck I didn't break anything but I fell into it trap door style and I scratched and brusied myself hard. Muna noted that her sons were idots to leave a dangerous spot like this around when there were children also staying there, As she spoke to me in a patronizing was that she often speaks to most people if not petting their egos. I remember Muna the owner telling me before I could ever think of suing, thank you for not suing us. I remember how I fell and Muna also a body worker did minimal body work like massage or acupuncture to help me heal. ( I have scoliosis but she didn't even seem to have much thought about how this even affected my body and my nervous system. I was paying a discounted price for my room but I never got any lower prices because they seemed defensive when I brought up paying lower due to the fall, Anu said " I didn't know you felt so angry" They clearly don't have much expertise customer service. Muna can be unessisarly nasty to people at times, and you much guard yourself from her random anger and not take it to personally. She must have tone it down on me because I had fallen and I didn't even complain much so they all thought I was a great visitor! I found that regardless of the signs that read no drugs allowed, they are very 420 friendly. I remember my first visit, I felt like a dear in he headlights and someone sent me there but I ran away because I could not bear Muna because around her I had a huge difficult loving myself, which may have been simply a reflection about how she felt about herself. During my stay as if I was not a flexible enough candidate, I was asked to move my room around in case someone else wanted to rent it! They were asking me to rent a cabin a very small room shortly after my fall! for the same price! My struggles there with Muna and Anu not having good relations with most of the staff or with me, I had a difficulty finishing and focusing my energy on Native Roots because I didn't feel supported by them or safe there. There were some nice things, like sweat lodges and drug circles and connections with people, maybe the moral was that I needed to develop the connection with myself instead of putting myself through so much suffering... We'd love to go back and spend more time. One thing that wasn't in the space was oil, but there were so many things, salt, pepper, baggies, complimentary items, pillow spray, and chocolate. We did have two property cats that followed us into our cabin when we were unloading the car and didn't notice until later on. They were sweet cats, but we did shoo them out. I at least assumed they are cats that stay around ti keep away the mice.

They think of everything! The fireplace was beautiful and we watched holiday movies which was cozy and fun! Sleep number beds were wonderful and we all slept great! Nice robes - fluffy towels! Early morning visits by the deer! Kitchen was wonderful! Nice guest touches including lavender pillow spray, chocolates and lip balm. The management team is very attentive and we appreciated them very much! The Cave was fun - lots of games and truly a clubhouse vibe! Late night s'mores were yum at the fire pit. This magical farm is set in the most beautiful valley beneath the DH Lawrence Ranch…read more I stayed in one of the tipis for 2 nights in the middle of August 2024. The farm has all kinds of amenities; hot tub, soaking tub, saunas, open barn with electricity and areas to lounge, hot showers, laundry and clean bathrooms. It has many cabin options but I chose the tipi. I took my two small dogs and they were welcomed with open arms and strategically placed poop bags. It rained a bunch but that added to the incredible sights, smells and feeling of being far far away from civilization but only 20 minutes north of Taos There is a great market between for food/drink needs. No restaurant on the farm but plenty of grills and places to lounge. We got to meet 4 alpaca, 3 sheep, 5 goats, 1 donkey, 3 turkey and many chickens! It is a owned and run by a wonderful couple who grow goji berries, as well as many other plants, flowers and veggies. A must see!

Here, there are separate entrances to the rooms and a common space. I am 6'8" so I need some space. LeAn and Charles were wonderful. It was fun to eat breakfast with the other guests and then head out for the day. Since I love to walk, I must have hiked down to Taos proper about ten times. The sidewalk aren't great and there is a lot of traffic out on the main drag. So, most visitors will need to drive to town unless you are a little nuts like me. Taos is a cool town and a great place to land. This B & B was a cool nest to rest my bones, eat a lovely breakfast, and then to do my thing. There are supermarkets in a walkable distance. Just have to get across the very busy highway.

The B&B offers a small little cottage called the Garden Gallery that happened to also be the cheapest so we went with that. Small indeed, but it did the job. We were out an about most of the time anyway, so who needs a whole lot of space? There was a small queen bed pushed against the wall. There was a traditional kiva fire that you can burn wood in seasonally. The shower was pretty big and open. There was no tub however. I liked that there were a few windows that could be opened and allowed for fresh air. The TV worked and there was also a coffee maker and mini fridge in the cottage. Other rooms are larger and have more impressive amenities if that's your thing. They all have private outdoor entrances. There is a relaxing common area with a computer, TV, and a large selection of books and readings on local happenings. There was always fresh lemonade and ice tea avaliable as well as cookies in the common kitchen area. Outside of the large dining area is a small hot tub that wreaked of chemicals, we did not venture in! Our experience was great. The owner was so kind to us, he knew we had never done the B&B thing before. We had also never been to Taos. His knowledge of this town and surrounding areas was impressive. He helped us choose a dinner destination and also a few galleries to hit up. He also gave us some tips on things to do outside of town. He also introduced us to the resident peacock, dogs, and cats that wander on and off the grounds. The breakfast was delish! We had peach stuffed french toast that was to die for. The peaches tasted as thought they were just picked off the tree. We also had fresh squeezed juice and a variety of sides. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the B&B and will return for sure. I am curious to try more B&B's after this experience but fear that it won't compare to this. Perhaps if I could compare this to other B&B's I could give it 5 stars. A family emergency had me needing to fly home last minute. With all of the normal shuttles I've…read moreused closed due to covid I gave Taos Rides a call. They truly went above and beyond to ensure I was able to get on the first flight out of ABQ airport. My driver Stuart was an absolute pleasure, I greatly appreciated his pre-trip communication. After making my reservation he messaged me letting me know he would be my driver, confirmed pick up location, time, and what vehicle I could expect him in. Upon pick up the vehicle was clean and had plexiglass behind the driver and front passenger. Creating a strong barrier between driver and passengers. Stuart wore a mask for the entirety of our ride. He let me know where different bathroom stops would be available along the drive based on covid closures. The highlight of the drive being the delightful conversation about Taos history, local cuisine and several fabulous book recommendations. I will be making Taos Rides my go to whenever I am in town!

For a small US Forest Service campground/picnic area, this place is visually spectacular…read more Located about 28 miles south of the the small town of Tierra Amarillo on Highway 84 and about three miles north of Ghost Ranch, Echo Amphitheater has several covered tables, RV spots, potable water and toilet facilities (the Forest Service webpage says no facilities, but they are there as of March 2015.) From the parking lot, it's just a short walk to the amphitheater where you can take in the awesomeness of the looming cliff walls. There are no trails here. Small fee to use the area ($3).
